Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies skipper, says they believed in themselves to chase this down. Adds that they believed in their plans and it paid off. Credits Mayers for his solid display of batting in the fourth innings. Further says that he himself should have batted well and given them a start to chase this total. Brathwaite says that they had the belief in themselves to chase this total down.
Kyle Mayers is named the Man of the Match. He says that he is a positive person. Adds that he is happy with his knock. Mentions it gives him pride for playing with West Indies. Further says that this knock will motivate the youngsters.
Mominul Haque, Bangladesh skipper, says that he is disappointed with the team's performance. Credits Mayers for his excellent knock. Further says that the spinners normally gets help on Day 5 but they could not stop the Windies batters from scoring. Mentions Mehidy Hasan batted well and bowled well in the first innings. Ends by saying they will look to make a comeback in the next Test.
When West Indies started the chase, they did not get off to a great start as they lost their openers when the score was under 50. Moseley also did not survive for long. Then came the big partnership between Bonner and Mayers. They stitched a solid 216-run stand to bring West Indies some hope in this chase. Bonners departed for 86 but Mayers kept on piling the runs and wanted to stay till the end. Bangladesh got a lead of 170 runs after bowling out West Indies for 259 in their first innings. Mominul Haque scored a hundred and his partnership with Liton Das was crucial for them in giving West Indies a target of 395. Cornwall and Jomel Warrican were the pick of the bowlers for West Indies as they took 6 wickets between them in that innings.
Coming to West Indies, Brathwatie was the highest scorer for them in their first innings where he made 76. Blackwood scored 68 but did not last longer. Mehidy Hasan was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as he took 4 wickets. Taijul Islam supported him and took 2 wickets.
Earlier, Bangladesh had scored 430 runs in the first innings where Mehidy Hasan was the top-scorer for them in that innings. Shakib Al Hasan and Shadman Islam scored fifties but could not convert that into a ton. Jomel Warrican was the pick of the bowlers for the West Indies as he picked 4 wickets. Cornwall did not look that threatening as he took 2 wickets.
Kyle Mayers showed excellent grit and determination for West Indies to win this match for them. His shots were superb and his timing was excellent. He never got bogged down when wickets were falling in the final session today. He kept one end intact and kept on scoring the runs.
For Bangladesh, their bowlers toiled hard but could not get the crucial wickets. They could not dismiss Mayers who was looking solid out there. Nayeem Hasan and Mehidy Hasan tried their best. They broke the 216-run stand between Mayers and Bonner but after that they could not get wickets at regular intervals.
What a victory this has been for West Indies. Take a bow, Kyle Mayers! It was a fantastic innings from him on his debut Test. His partnership with Nkrumah Bonner set up the chase for them. Then when Bonner departed, Blackwood started well but perished early after playing a poor shot. Da Silva gave good support and almost sealed the chase for West Indies.

Right then! West Indies need 285 more runs to win and it will be interesting to see what will be their approach on Day 5! Will they go for the win or will they go for a draw? Bangladesh, on the other hand, need just 7 wickets and they would hope that they can get the remaining wckets as quickly as possible. Russell Domingo, the Bangladesh coach, is there for a chat. He says that Mominul Haque and Liton Das batted well and they are sure that they will achieve the victory on Day 5. Goes onto say that Mehidy Hasan has carried his form from the ODI series. Tells that he works really hard and is pleased with his performance. Goes onto say that they still have work to do and not bowl bad balls on Day 5. Tells that they cannot be too unhappy with the way things have gone so far. States that they have very good facilities and they want to make sure that the young players get the best opportunity to perform. Informs that their performance away from home has not been good and they need to improve that. Tells that Shakib has a bit of a niggle and they want to give him the best opportunity to recover before the next Test match. Mentions that Mominul is still learning the trade and he knows that he has got some work to do and he is leading through his performances at the moment.
Earlier in the day, Mominul Haque's century and his partnership with Liton Das helped Bangladesh get a lead of 394. Mominul was brilliant while Liton Das was positive. They lost some wickets in a heap and then declared with a massive lead. West Indies' bowling was not upto the mark and they were punished by the batters. Rahkeem Cornwall was the pick of the bowlers. Overall, it was a good day for Bangladesh!
Bangladesh, on the other hand, had a good time with the ball. They started poorly but once they introduced Mehidy Hasan into the attack, things started to happen. Mehidy Hasan picked up all the three wickets to fall and has been superb. Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan bowled threatening lines and lengths but they have not been rewarded yet. They need 7 wickets to win and have one full day in hand to get there. That's a lot of time and with the pitch playing some tricks, Bangladesh would hope that they can take a 1-0 lead in the 2-match Test series.
Post-Tea, West Indies needed a good start but they did not get that as they first lost John Campbell to Mehidy Hasan. Kraigg Brathwaite followed him soon after giving a catch to short leg and West Indies were in compete tatters at that moment. The agony was yet to come as they lost Shayne Moseley for a cheap score but since then, Kyle Mayers and Nkrumah Bonner have played superbly and took West Indies to Stumps without any further loss of wickets. They are 285 runs behind and a tough day awaits them on Day 5.
Excellent day for Bangladesh but one might feel that West Indies have made a slight comeback with the current partnership between Kyle Mayers and Nkrumah Bonner! They still have a long way to go but they will be pleased that at least they are showing a fight. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are still ahead and they would not be too disappointed with the work done.
The physio has come out to have a look at Tamim Iqbal who got hit off the last ball in trying to take the catch. Not good signs as he is going off. Bangladesh already are missing Shakib Al Hasan and now they lose Tamim Iqbal as well. Let's hope that he is fine.

After declaring with a lead of 394, Bangladesh would have wanted to pick up a few wickets before Tea but that did not happen as the West Indian openers played them really well. Mustafizur Rahman has bowled good lines and lengths while Taijul Islam has been on the shorter side a touch. They are way ahead in the game and they still have a lot of time to go to bowl the visitors out. They will aim to prize out a few wickets before the end of the day. A session which has belonged to Bangladesh but West Indies will be happy that they managed to survive the few overs before the break without losing a wicket.
