That's all from this one-sided affair. We hope for a better contest come this Sunday when these two sides collide in the final T20I of the series in Bengaluru. Do join us at 1900 IST (1330 GMT) for all the action. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!

Indian skipper, VIRAT KOHLI IS THE MAN OF THE MATCH! Starts by reminding about the 2016 T20 match against Australia. Says that when you play like that and finish the game off, it's a great feeling. Tells that it was a slightly better pitch and the outfield was slightly quicker than that day and there was a good value for shots. On the new faces in the team, Kohli tells that they showed a lot of character to pull things back after a good start from South Africa. Counts that as positive signs. On his batting consistency, Kohli replies that it's the badge in front of his shirt, that is India and the pride to play for the country. Feels that adapting to different formats is nothing but all about the mindset. Mentions that if you want to take your team over the line, doesn't matter how, by hitting boundaries or running singles, you will find a way.

South African skipper, Quinton de Kock says that they got off to a good start but towards the latter end of the innings India bowled really well. Hopes to improve in the next game. On Temba Bavuma and other debutants, he replies that there was a lot of pressure on them, especially against India, who are world-class. On his bowling attack, de Kock replies that Rabada tried his best up front but didn't get the wickets unfortunately and with his pace, it was easier for the batsmen. On his own batting, de Kock tells that it was nice to get some time off after the World Cup and he was hungry to get runs and hopes to do even better in the next match.

Shikhar Dhawan gives a quick interview to Sanjay Manjrekar. Says that it was a good start for them and he was enjoying his batting. Feels it's good to get a good start to the home season and is looking forward to more of the same. On facing the South African quicks, Dhawan replies that they practice a lot against good pace in the nets and that's why they can counter the pace of the South African speedsters. Adds that it's a good feeling to hit the ball nicely. On his and Kohli's reaction on that Miller catch, Dhawan smiles and says that he always smiles irrespective whether he is out or not and in this case, he appreciated Miller's effort in that smile.

It was a listless performance by South Africa. Their batting, barring the knocks of Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma, showed little fight and when it came to defending a below par total, their bowlers faltered as well. They are the underdogs in this series but one expects a better challenge from the boys coming from the rainbow nation. Earlier, the Indian bowlers did a commendable job, especially in the middle overs, to stifle South Africa and that never allowed the Proteas the kind of finish they desired.

A walk in the park for India! They were never challenged in their run chase and scaled it down with utmost ease. It was a below par target and once the Indian openers provided a brisk start, the visitors were on the back foot. Virat Kohli and his buddy from Delhi, Shikhar Dhawan then capitalized on the start and their partnership of 61 runs put the chase on bed. After yet another flop show from Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer calmly played his part in the last stand to see off the chase with Virat Kohli.

B Fortuin to S Iyer, FOUR! Game over! India win by 7 wickets. Fuller ball on middle, Iyer hammers this down the ground and beats the long on fielder. A superb run chase from the Indians to go 1-0 up in the series.

B Fortuin to V Kohli, SIX! That should seal the game. On middle and leg, Kohli dances down the track and lifts this over the long on fence for a maximum. Just having some fun it seems is the Indian skipper. With the six, Virat Kohli has become leading run scorer in the T20 internationals.
B Fortuin to S Iyer, Fuller one on middle, Iyer goes back to hammer it over the long on fence but the ball takes an inside edge and rolls towards short fine leg and the batters take a run.

Kagiso Rabada comes back into the attack.

A Phehlukwayo to V Kohli, Slower one on the middle stump line, Kohli works it towards deep mid-wicket and calls for a couple straightaway. But Iyer is slow in return and the two can't be taken. Kohli is livid.

A Phehlukwayo to V Kohli, FOUR! Imperious from the skipper! Another half century from the Indian skipper. He just relishes during the run chases and he is proving that again. He loves Mohali, doesn't he. Good length ball outside off, Kohli makes room and punches it through the covers for a boundary. A top shot to get to his 22nd half century.
B Fortuin to V Kohli, Outside off, pushed towards mid off for a single.

B Fortuin to S Iyer, On the pads, worked towards mid-wicket.

Shreyas Iyer is the new man in!

B Fortuin to R Pant, OUT! Pant departs! Poor shot selection? Let's put it as a poor shot execution. That was a poor ball, Rishabh could've hammered it anywhere on the leg side but all he can do is to find the short fine leg fielder. It's a dragged down delivery down the leg side, Pant goes back to pull but the ball takes the inner half of the bat and goes straight to Shamsi at short fine leg. Maiden T20I wicket for Fortuin. Maybe not the kind of delivery he would've wanted a wicket but he will take it.
B Fortuin to R Pant, Around middle, Pant pushes it gently towards mid-wicket and hares back for two. Brilliant running.
B Fortuin to V Kohli, On the pads this time, Kohli works it towards square leg for a single.
B Fortuin to V Kohli, Tossed up around off, pushed towards cover.

Bjorn Fortuin into the attack now.

A Nortje to V Kohli, Fuller ball around off, Kohli jams it towards point for a single.
A Nortje to R Pant, LEG BYE! Good length delivery on the pads, Pant looks to flick but gets hit on the pads. The ball rolls towards the leg side for a leg bye.
A Nortje to V Kohli, Full delivery on middle, Kohli flicks it towards the leg side for a single.
A Nortje to R Pant, OHH! Good length delivery on middle, Pant flicks it to square leg and takes off for a quick single. Bavuma at square leg has a shy at the bowler's end but misses. It would have been curtains for Pant there if the ball had gone onto hit the stumps. Poor running.
