UPDATE 1600 LOCAL (1030 GMT) - Nothing has changed in the last hour and it is still raining. The field is still under covers and we cannot see the game starting anytime soon. The cut-off time for a 20-over game is 1830 Local (1300 GMT). Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that we get some cricketing action. PREVIEW - After a troublesome period in New Zealand, the Indians have arrived back home and will welcome the South Africans for a 3-match ODI series. The hosts would look to start their first match against South Africa with a bang. In the shortest format of the game, the Men In Blue annihilated the Kiwis but they struggled in the 50-over format. The return of Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shikhar Dhawan will certainly give a boost to the Indian team. With Rohit Sharma out injured, it looks like Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul will open the innings with Prithvi Shaw in with an outside chance. The middle order is where India will be tested. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya are the only ones who will be guaranteed a spot in the starting XI. Rishabh Pant will be facing competition from KL Rahul for the wicket-keeping spot, whereas Ravindra Jadeja will have to fight for his place against Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Mohammed Shami has not been included in the squad, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the man most likely to replace him. The pace attack of India did not perform well against the Kiwis, and they would look to remedy that against the Proteas. On the other hand, South Africa would be coming into this series with their tails up. They hosted the Aussies in their last ODI series and whitewashed them 3-0, which came as a surprise to many. Janneman Malan was in scintillating form against the Men Down Under. However, skipper Quinton de Kock was not at his best personally and will look to bounce back. Rassie van der Dussen and Faf du Plessis' return to the squad will also be pivotal for the visitors. The visitors have got a good bowling attack with Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje providing the speed, and Keshav Maharaj providing the experience following the Proteas' last visit to India. It promises to be a fascinating encounter with both sides looking to go for the win!
