Zimbabwe bowlers could not restrict Pakistan under 300 as they let the partnership between Fawad Alam and Rizwan grow big. They took Rizwan's wicket and got Ashraf's wicket quickly but they let the partnership between Hasan Ali and Alam to stay till the end of Day 2. On Day 3, they wrapped up the Pakistan innings quickly but they got a lead of 250 runs. It was then going to be difficult for Zimbabwe to survive for two days atleast. Stay tuned for the presentation...
Pakistan batsmen batted very well. They got off to a great start from their openers. Abid Ali was looking good but got out for 60. Azhar Ali started well but played a loose shot to lose his wicket in the process. Babar Azam got out for a golden duck as he fell in the trap set by Zimbabwe. The tail did not wag for long and Pakistan were bowled out for 426.
Pakistan bowlers bowled well in the first innings also. Hasan Ali and Afridi took 4 wickets each and Nauman Ali took a solitary wicket. The bowlers kept it tight and did not let Zimbabwe batsmen score freely. Faheem Ashraf went wicketless in that innings.
Coming to Zimbabwe, their batsmen started well in the second innings but lost wickets at regular intervals. Musakanda was playing well but lost his wicket due to a suicidal run out where the third run was not required. Brendan Taylor started well and played his shots but lost his wicket in the process. He played risky shots and that led to his downfall. Roy Kaia got out for a duck. Regis Chakabva tried to stay longer but lost partners at the other end.
It has been a brilliant victory for Pakistan. They have bowled well and batted well and have completely outplayed Zimbabwe in all departments of the game. Hasan Ali has been the star for them in both the innings as he has picked up 9 wickets in the match. Fawad Alam batted well and scored a crucial hundred to help Pakistan score 426.

An appeal for stumping! Blessing Muzarabani is the man in question. It looks very close. Replays show that Muzarabani's back leg was inside the crease.

... Day 3, Session 3 ...
Now, Zimbabwe are behind by 132 runs and have half their side back in the hut. They will be hoping that they can show some fight and bat the whole off the third session out and force the game into the fourth day, whereas, the visitors, will be looking to snaffle the remaining wickets and close the game out on Day 3. Which team will the third session belong to? Join us shortly to find out.
Definitely Pakistan's session, this! They have probed hard and their rigidness in ensuring that they snare wickets has seen them take 5 wickets in the afternoon session and have pushed Zimbabwe on the back foot. Kevin Kasuza and Tarisai Musakanda were not scoring runs freely, but runs were coming for the hosts. It was then that Hasan Ali got the better of Kasuza and that is when the floodgates opened up. Shumba fell prey to Nauman Ali next and then Musakanda, who was playing well and was on his way to his half-century, ran a suicidal third run and lost his wicket, via a run out. Taylor, the skipper, showed some resistance, but he played a shot too many and gave his wicket away, whereas, Roy Kaia went back for a 4-ball duck.
Half the Zimbabwe side back in the shed now. Donald Tiripano strides out now!
Regis Chakabva is the new batsman in.
Faheem Ashraf is back on. 5-1-9-0 are his figures so far.
Roy Kaia is the new batter in.
Is that a run out? Replays show that Tarisai Musakanda is miles outside the crease, when the bails are whipped off. Will be out.
DRINKS! It has been Pakistan's hour after the Lunch break. Yes, they have not snared a lot of wickets, and have just sent two batters back to the shed, but they have not allowed Zimbabwe to score runs freely too. The pressure is building over after over, as the Pakistani bowlers are bowling nice tight lines and lengths. They will look to send a couple of batters back, before the Tea break now and take this game by the throat. Brendan Taylor is the new batter in.
Nauman Ali is into the attack.
Shaheen Afridi is back on. 6-1-19-0 are his figures so far.
Who will come out now? It is Milton Shumba!
Hasan Ali to bowl from the other end.
We are back for the second session of Day 3. The Pakistan players are out in the middle. Kevin Kasuza and Tarisai Musakanda will resume their innings for Zimbabwe. Faheem Ashraf will start the proceedings for this session.
... Day 3, Session 2 ...
Pakistan's bowling was decent. Shaheen Afridi bowled really well and deserved a wicket or two but he did not have luck on his side as a catch was dropped and some edges went past the fielder. Hasan Ali bowled with venom and was decent as well. They would hope to come back and pick up quick wickets. They are way ahead in the game but they will want to win by an innings. Join us at around 1210 local (1010 GMT) for the second session.
Zimbabwe started well with the bat. Both Kevin Kasuza and Tarisai Musakanda have looked good but they have a long way to go and they need to continue. Kasuza has rode his luck as he was dropped while Musakanda has played well. They would hope to come back after Lunch and continue the good work.
A good session for Zimbabwe! They first bowled out Pakistan cheaply on Day 3 and they would have wanted to play out the rest of the session without losing any wickets and they did just that. Zimbabwe will be happy with the proceedings but they would know that there is still a long way to go. Pakistan, on the other hand, would have liked to pick up a few wickets but it was not to be.
Faheem Ashraf is into the attack.
The physio is out there to have a look at Kasuza for a mandatory concussion test. He looks jaded. Let's hope that he is fine. He is getting a new helmet.
Hasan Ali will bowl from the other end.
