Indian Premier League, 2020
Venue: Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai
Date & Time: 18 October 2020
RR: 8.75 | Kings XI Punjab tied with Mumbai Indians (Kings XI Punjab win 2nd Super Over by 2 wickets)
Punjab started off well with the bat. It was KL Rahul who was the pick of the lot with the bat and he was amazing out in the middle. Chris Gayle, too was good with the bat but he could not stay for a long period. Pooran played some good strokes but was sent back to the hut by Bumrah. It was Bumrah again who got rid of Rahul towards the end. Hooda and Jordan played well in the final 2 overs for them to make the Super Over.
What a finish we have had in this game! Right down to the wire and it is a tie! Second Super Over in the day! The game kept shuffling between Mumbai and Punjab and in the end, 40 overs of play could not separate both the sides and a Super Over will be required for us to find the winner in this one.
The third umpire is called into play for this run out appeal. Replays roll in and his bat is just short. This is going to be out.
Trent Boult will bowl the final over of the innings. Can he defend the 9 runs that Punjab require?
Chris Jordan is the new batter in for Punjab.
Nathan Coulter-Nile is back into the attack for Mumbai. 2-0-10-0 for him so far.
Ishan Kishan seems to be in some sort of discomfort. He is clutching his hamstring and the physios are out in the middle to have a look at him. Mumbai will be hoping that this is nothing serious as Kishan is a gun out in the field and they will need him out there.
DRINKS! All eyes are on KL Rahul at the moment. They need 52 to win in 5 overs and with Rahul still out there, Punjab will back themselves to chase this down. Deepak Hooda is a handy batsman and Punjab will hope that he can support Rahul out in the middle. Mumbai, on the other hand, need to take the wicket of KL Rahul as soon as possible, otherwise he will take the game away from them.
Deepak Hooda makes his way out to the middle.
Glenn Maxwell comes out to bat, replacing Nicholas Pooran.
Jasprit Bumrah is back on. 1-0-1-1 are his figures so far.
Nicholas Pooran is the next man in.
Rahul Chahar comes into the attack.
DRINKS! Punjab needed a strong start if they wanted to chase this target down, they have done just that. First, it was the duo of Rahul and Mayank but then Mayank fell and in came Chris Gayle. Now, it is Gayle and Rahul out there and if they keep going the way they are, this total will be chased down with ease. But the bowling attack of Mumbai is no joke and they will be roaring to send these batters back to the hut. They will need to scalp some wickets if they are to stop them from chasing this down. An interesting spell of cricket awaits us. Kieron Pollard is handed the ball by Mumbai.
Nathan Coulter-Nile will bowl now.
Chris Gayle will walk out to bat at No. 3 for Punjab.
Jasprit Bumrah is introduced into the attack for Mumbai.
Who will bowl from the other end for Mumbai? It will be Krunal Pandya.
We are back for the chase! The openers of Punjab, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal walk out into the middle. Trent Boult will begin with the ball for Mumbai. Off we go...
