Right then! We have had a pretty one-sided game as Mumbai have been dominant and have not let Punjab crawl back into the game at any point. Mumbai have played well and they will look to take this forward when they play their next game in Sharjah and Punjab will be disappointed as they have played well but have just won one single game out of their three games and they will want to bounce back in their next encounter. The action continues on Friday, 2nd October 2020 as Chennai and Hyderabad will battle it out and it will begin at 1930 IST. Until then, take care and cheers!

The Man of the Match is Kieron Pollard. He starts off by saying that it feels good and they were on the losing side last game and so they wanted to come out and be on the right side of the result. Adds that he tries to pick his bowlers and try to look for 15 runs and more and he looks to go hard. Praises Hardik Pandya as it is good to see him strike the ball well and he had to come out today and swing and he showed his prowess. Talking about their next game in Sharjah, he says that the boundaries are small and they are looking forward to it but they will have to come out and execute with the ball really well. Wants to focus on the next game and try to gain 2 points for the team.

Rohit Sharma says it is a great win, they did not start well but they knew they could make up at the back end. They did most of the things right, not initially but overall. States Pollard and Pandya back themselves to score quickly towards the end and it is good to have them in form. Further adds they have a balanced side and they are happy with the way they are playing. Also says they needed early wickets, they had plans and they did well to execute it. Ends by saying there was no execution in the last game, they had a discussion, they had a different plan as it was a different opposition and it went well.

Mayank Agarwal is in for a chat! Starts off by saying that he and Rahul are not competing against each other for the Orange cap and they are just looking to play good cricket and help the team. Adds that runs in the international circuit have given him confidence and he has worked in the lockdown on improving his T20 game. States that he is hitting the ball very well and his thought is to get into good positions.

The skipper of Punjab, KL Rahul starts off by saying that it is disappointing that they haven't won more games and thinks that this is one of those games where they haven't bowled or batted well and it is important to come back stronger. States that the wicket looked good with the new ball and he is not sure if it slowed up after that. Says that it is important to carry on their form. Adds that it would have been great to have an all rounder who bats and bowls well. Says that he has to sit with the coaching staff and decide if they want to field an extra bowler. On his orange cap battle with Mayank Agarwal, he says that he will be happy as long as the cap stays in the team of Punjab and adds that Agarwal has worked hard and he deserves the cap but that he will take it off him very soon.

The Mumbai bowing was too good! The first three overs weren't that great but after that, they were brilliant. Bumrah, Krunal, Chahar and Pattinson really had an impressive night. Overall, they were excellent and can be really pleased with their team effort.

A thumping win for Mumbai then! To be honest, it is their batters who set it up. Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard and a cameo from Pandya meant they finished with a total which was well above par and chasing that, Punjab needed a good start but they did not get one. Also, they kept losing wickets after that on regular intervals. Someone from the top four needed to go big but that was not the case. Pooran did seem like he was finding his touch but departed when his team needed him to continue. Maxwell also has not been at his best in this tournament. Can't blame Neesham, Sarfaraz or the others as by the time they came in, the target was almost out of reach.

Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham, Another yorker to end the game as Goutham plays this to the deep cover region for just a single. MUMBAI WIN BY 48 RUNS!
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham, Great yorker around off, Goutham looks to dig this one out but does not connect bat with ball on this occasion.
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham, Full length ball around off and middle, Goutham scoops this one towards the backward square leg region and the batters will run back for the second run.
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham, FOUR! Goes over the top! Cheeky stuff from Goutham! He changes his shape as he notices this is short and he guides it over the keeper's head into the third man fence for four runs.
Jasprit Bumrah to Krishnappa Gowtham, A full toss around middle, Goutham works it towards the fielder at covers.
Jasprit Bumrah to Mohammed Shami, Shorter and on the body, Shami looks to pull but misses. It hits the body and rolls towards fine leg for one.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham, SIX! Goutham gets a hold of this one! It is a good stroke! Boult went for the full ball outside off, Goutham looks for the big one and hammers it over the long off region and it just goes by Pollard in the deep to fetch Punjab six runs.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham, FOUR! Boult goes for a wide slower ball and Goutham looks to hammer this one but it comes off his outside edge towards the third man region for a boundary.
Trent Boult to Mohammed Shami, Full length around leg, Shami plays it gently to the leg side and the batters scamper through for the single as Boult has a shy at the keeper's end but misses.
Trent Boult to Ravi Bishnoi, OUT! CAUGHT! That is a very soft dismissal and the players of Mumbai don't even celebrate so much as they know the game has been wrapped up! Fullish length ball around off and middle, Bishnoi gets under it and plays it straight to Suryakumar Yadav at point who is not going to drop this one.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham, Good length delivery around off, Goutham works this down the ground towards the long off fielder for a single.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham, Boult dishes a good length ball outside the off channel, Goutham looks to heave this one but misses it altogether.
James Pattinson to Ravi Bishnoi, Good length outside off, Bishnoi makes some room but can only connect his bat with thin air. Punjab need 69 in 12!
James Pattinson to Ravi Bishnoi, Bouncer! This is a bouncer over middle, Bishnoi ducks and lets this one alone.
James Pattinson to Krishnappa Gowtham, A slower back of a length ball around middle, Goutham heaves this towards the long on region and Pollard at the deep cleans up as the batters take the single.
James Pattinson to Ravi Bishnoi, Almost another good grab by Suryakumar! Bishnoi plays this towards point but Yadav stops this one before the batters can take the single.
James Pattinson to Ravi Bishnoi, Outside off, Bishnoi pushes this towards point.
James Pattinson to Sarfaraz Khan, OUT! LBW! The umpire does not hesitate to raise his finger straightaway and Sarfaraz also goes for the review! Pattinson bowls a yorker on middle, Sarfaraz looks to clear his foot and flick it but misses and it hits his boot. The third umpire comes into play. UltaEdge says there is no spike. Ball Tracker comes in and there are three reds and the umpire's decision stays on as his decision was right on the money. Punjab are falling apart now.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham, Fuller and outside off, it is driven through covers for two.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham, Shorter and on middle, Gowtham pushes it back to the bowler.
Trent Boult to Sarfaraz Khan, A shorter delivery and on middle, Khan looks to pull but it goes off the glove towards third man for one.
Trent Boult to Krishnappa Gowtham, It is fuller and on off, Gowtham drives it towards cover for one.
Trent Boult to Sarfaraz Khan, A yorker and outside off, it is jammed out towards point for one.
Trent Boult to Sarfaraz Khan, FOUR! That is brilliant! Khan brings out the reverse sweep and he connects well. He hits it over point for a boundary.
Jasprit Bumrah to James Neesham, OUT! CAUGHT! Neesham will have to walk back now and the task which already looked tough now looks like it will be impossible! Bumrah goes for the full toss around off, Neesham thinks about pulling this one and goes for that but it takes a leading edge and goes up high in the air towards point and it Suryakumar Yadav who does well to position himself under this and he takes a simple catch. The umpires check as they think this could be if it is above his waist and replays show that this is a legal delivery and Neesham has to take the long walk back to the pavilion.
Jasprit Bumrah to Sarfaraz Khan, On a full length around off, Sarfaraz looks for the cheeky scoop and connects but doesn't play this well as it reaches Boult at fine leg on a bounce. One run taken.
Jasprit Bumrah to Sarfaraz Khan, Wonderful fielding by Suryakumar Yadav! Back of a length ball outside off, Sarfaraz cuts this one hard but Yadav does well to dive to his right and stop this one.
Jasprit Bumrah to James Neesham, On a good length around the off channel, Neesham pulls this one well towards the fielder at deep mid-wicket for one run. Punjab need some big shots right now!
Jasprit Bumrah to Sarfaraz Khan, LEG BYES! Bumrah dishes a short of a good length ball around middle and leg, Sarfaraz looks to flick this but misses and it comes off his pads towards the fine leg region. The batters take a leg bye.
Jasprit Bumrah to Sarfaraz Khan, Goes back of a length around off to start off, Sarfaraz works this towards mid-wicket.

Sarfaraz Khan will walk out with his willow for Punjab.

Rahul Chahar to James Neesham, A couple to end! On the pads, this is worked through square leg for two.
Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, OUT! TAKEN! Maxwell is out of here and that should probably be the game for Mumbai! He was never comfortable against Chahar and falls to him. Chahar tosses it up outside off, it is the leg spinner. Maxwell look to heave it over the mid-wicket fence but that is the wrong idea for two reasons. One - It is the longer part of the ground and the other it is against the spin. He only manages to hit it high up in the air towards Boult in the deep who takes it well inside the rope.
Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, Maxwell looks to play the reverse sweep but misses as this is bowled outside off. A dot more importantly.
Rahul Chahar to James Neesham, On the pads, this is worked through square leg for one.
Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, Shorter and outside off, Maxwell pulls it through mid-wicket for one.
Rahul Chahar to Glenn Maxwell, Shorter and on middle, this is pushed back to the bowler.

DRINKS! Mumbai have continued their good work and have done well to stem the flow of runs. Pooran was looking good but Pattinson made sure that he could not damage them any more by sending him back to the hut. Punjab, do have some firepower as Maxwell and Neesham are out in the middle and Sarfaraz is yet to walk out for them, but with the bowling attack that Mumbai possess, it sure does look difficult and unlikely that Punjab can win this one. But in this edition of the Indian T20 League, you never say never till the last delivery has been bowled. Rahul Chahar is back into the attack for Mumbai.

James Pattinson to Glenn Maxwell, Tremendous from Pattinson! A yorker to end. It is on middle. Maxwell jams it out towards cover for one. Outstanding from JP. Top class over from him.
James Pattinson to James Neesham, Bangs it short and on middle, Neesham gets on top of the bounce and pulls it through mid-wicket. One.
James Pattinson to James Neesham, Fuller and on middle, Neesham whips it through square leg for two. He is off the mark.
James Pattinson to James Neesham, Length and around middle, it shapes away. Neesham looks to defend but is beaten.

James Neesham will come out for Punjab.

Match 13 sees Punjab take on Mumbai at Abu Dhabi. Both teams are coming on the back of losses. Punjab lost to Rajasthan due to dramatic change of events as Rahul Tewatia the unsung hero clobbered 30 runs off Sheldon Cottrell when he bowled the 18th over. Having put up a total of 223 runs, Punjab looked settled for a win, but they forgot that it is Sharjah the ground with the smallest boundaries in this year's Indian T20 League. Soon the chase began, and Punjab got the taste of their own medicine as Steven Smith along with Sanju Samson went berserk at Punjab bowling. Though, Punjab came back into the contest after the departure of Steven Smith and some ball consuming effort by the newly promoted number four Rahul Tewatia. With the wicket of Sanju Samson, they were assured of a win only to see some blitzkrieg by Rahul Tewatia which sealed the game for Rajasthan. Mumbai's story is a bit different as they too were chasing a total of 202 where they lost their way and wickets very quickly to see themselves reeling at 78/4. Then came the star for Mumbai Ishan Kishan who played his first game in this tournament and almost took his side home with Kieron Pollard but his dismissal on the penultimate ball of the chase saw the game dragged on into the Super Over. In the end, Bangalore went onto win the game as Mumbai succumbed to its second loss. This game between Punjab and Mumbai is a clear battle between Punjab's batting prowess vs Mumbai's bowling strength. Who will come on top of this contest will be an interesting thing to watch. There would be a few interesting individual battles too like Mayank Agarwal vs Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul vs Trent Boult and Rohit Sharma vs Mohammed Shami. It should be another cracking and entertaining contest to watch.
