India and West Indies - two opposite sides of the same coin. One has been performing excellently in the shortest format while the other has only flattered to deceive. India are back to the USA after 3 years to play 2 T20s at Lauderhill. The last time that the Indians played here, they were beaten in the first game by a close margin while the other game was washed out. After the disappointing semi-final of the World Cup, the Men in Blue will look to start their next campaign with a bang. They have decided to rest Jasprit Bumrah for the T20Is and the ODI series and have bought in several new faces such as Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini and Rahul Chahar. Navdeep Saini was impressive for the India A team as well as in the Indian T20 league. Rahul Chahar impressed one and all for Mumbai in the 2019 Indian T20 league and has been rewarded for his performance. Deepak, the elder brother of Rahul, has already made his T20I debut but he didn't have a good outing. He has been given another chance to prove his credentials after a successful outing for the Chennai franchise. They are also without their regular spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal and in place of them, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Rahul Chahar should lead the spin attack. On the batting front, the top order looks the same with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan manning the opening duties. The no 4 position remains a mystery with as many as 3 players vying for that spot. Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey and KL Rahul will be fighting it out for the most talked-about position in Indian cricket. Rishabh Pant will be the designated keeper as MS Dhoni has decided to join his Army Regiment for the next 2 months. West Indies, on the other hand, are coming off a terrible World Cup where they could only win 2 matches. More was expected from them after their crushing victory against Pakistan but they were found wanting in the matches that followed. Windies are going through a rough patch currently as they lost two out of their last three T20I series, one against England and another versus India. Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine make a comeback to the squad after a long time while Chris Gayle will miss out as he's busy playing in the Global Canada T20 league. Evin Lewis will look to regain his magic touch against his favourite opponents as both his T20I centuries have come against the Indians. When they faced each other in India in 2018, the Men in Blue whitewashed the Windies 3-0. India and West Indies have faced each other 11 times in T20s and have won 5 games each. Although the current T20 world champions are not having a great time in the shortest format currently, India will do well not to underestimate them as the Windies can be destructive on their day. They are the champions for a reason. It promises to be a cracker of a beginning with the first game in Lauderhill. There is a 60 percent chance of rain on the day of the match but let us hope we will get a full game
