Chasing 160, they started off well but once again the middle order was under the hammer. However, the positives from this match will be the excellent bowling by the Indians. This is by far the best bowling attack India has had for many years and that too without their two bowling spearheads Zaheer and RP Singh. If the batting can come good as well, then India will be a formidable unit. They will have another shy at the Lankans in the first day match of the tournament in a day's time. Ishant Sharma is the Man of the Match for his scintillating bowling performance. He ended with figures of 4 for 38 in 9.1 overs with one maiden. He got the vital wickets of Hayden, Ponting and Symonds which eventually tilted the match in India's favour.
