That is all we have for you tonight. This is a fairy tale folks. The teams at the bottom of the table last season will now battle it out for the title this season. The four fanatics of cricket, Mayank, Nishant, Shirshendu and Srivathsa will be bringing you all the action from the last day of IPL-2009. Till then, it is good bye and good night from all of us.
Manish Pandey: This is my second game I am performing and really happy for that. The pitch was stopping a little bit, but Anil Bhai gave me the license to go out there and play my natural game. The game plan against Murali was to work it around and give Rahul Bhai the strike. Waiting for the final tomorrow and hopefully we will win.
Anil Kumble: One more win will be nice tomorrow. We regrouped after the strategy break when they were 75/1. 146 on this wicket was not even a par score, we really bowled well. Manish batted brilliantly, that is the way the current youngsters bat, they back themselves to go out there and clear the boundary. To give away only 3 boundaries in the last 7 overs against such a batting line-up is brilliant.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni: They played better cricket than us. We were looking for a score around 160, but me and Raina got out at the wrong time. We were short by 15 runs. Overall disappointed, but they outplayed us. Our bowling department was a bit fragile right through the tournament.
Manish Pandey is the Man of the Match for the second consecutive time for his blinder at the top.
Dhoni probably missed a trick by not bringing on Muralitharan earlier on. The body language of the CSK was not upto the mark as RCB raced away to the finish. It is the 5th win on the trot for RCB and they have all the momentum going into the final tomorrow.
It was a stunning performance from the RCB side as they outplayed the CSK. Manish Pandey carried on from his previous innings as he played a blinder to set it up for RCB. Dravid brought all his experience to the fore as he complemented Pandey stroke for stroke. Then Ross Taylor and Virat Kohli finished it off magnificently.
And in a rather surprising turnaround, the two bottom-placed teams from IPL 2008, Bangalore and Hyderabad are the finalists this year. Who would have thought?
Mallya is ecstatic, the RCB squad members run out onto the field as a dejected MS Dhoni walks away!
18.5 Oram to Kohli, FOUR!!, fuller length on the middle and leg, Kohli shuffles across and flicks it to mid wicket, wide off the fielder, that's it RCB win by 6 wickets
RCB win
18.4 Oram to Kohli, no run, good yorker length on the stumps, Kohli has no option but to defend it
18.3 Oram to Taylor, 1 run, slow bouncer on the stumps, Taylor mistimes a pull to deep square leg
18.2 Oram to Kohli, 1 run, yorker length outside off, Kohli chops it down to third man
18.1 Oram to Taylor, 1 run, Taylor toe ends it to short fine leg, Kohli dives in to his crease
18.1 Oram to Taylor, no ball, SIX!!, That is a magnificent hit! over the waist full toss on the stumps, Taylor moved across and swung it flat over fine leg, that is hit sweetly, what is worse Oram bowls a no-ball for height
Another boundary, I'm not sure if that's a four or a six...hang on
Jacob Oram, will now bowl, another master stroke from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, only time will tell
17.6 Muralitharan to Kohli, no run, Kohli comes down the track and taps it back to Muralitharan, end of Muralitharan's spell, is that the end of CSK as well?
17.5 Muralitharan to Kohli, SIX!!, magnificent shot! Kohli dances down and smashes it over long on, huge hit, that went 110 metres, biggie, that could be the decissive blow
17.4 Muralitharan to Kohli, no run, the doosra floated up on the stumps, Kohli comes down the track and adjusts it on the ground
17.3 Muralitharan to Taylor, 1 run, Taylor moves across and clips it to deep square leg
17.2 Muralitharan to Taylor, no run, Taylor gets forward and drives it to cover, Albie dives to his left and cuts it off
That is the big over Bangalore were hoping for...surely they can't lose it from here or is there another twist in the tale?
17.1 Muralitharan to Kohli, 1 run, fraction short outside off, Kohli cuts it square of the wicket, straight to the fielder
16.6 Raina to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli comes down the track and drives it to long on, retains the strike with that run
16.5 Raina to Kohli, SIX!!, Hit well! Kohli comes down the track and lofts it huge over long on, that was beautifully hit, sailed into the crowd, what a shot and Mallya jumps up and down in the Box
16.4 Raina to Taylor, leg byes, 1 run, Taylor again looks to slog sweep, is rapped on the pads, hit outside off, gets a leg bye to gully
16.3 Raina to Taylor, SIX!!, That is a Taylor special! flatter outside off, Taylor moves across and heaves across the line between midwicket and long on, mistimed still cleared the short boundary
16.2 Raina to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli goes on the backfoot and skews a swat uppishly square of the wicket
16.1 Raina to Kohli, no run, Kohli gets forward an d toe ends a punch to cover, straight to the fielder
Suresh Raina [2.0-0-9-0] is back into the attack
15.6 Muralitharan to Taylor, no run, magnificent delivery to end! pushed through quicker outside off, Taylor goes on the backfoot and looks to run it down, was close to the outside edge, end of a brilliant over from Muralitharan
15.5 Muralitharan to Taylor, no run, Taylor gets forward and defends it on the ground
15.4 Muralitharan to Taylor, no run, flatter on the middle and leg, Taylor again stumbles, hit outside leg, huge shout again
15.3 Muralitharan to Taylor, no run, fired in on the middle and leg, Taylor gets forward and misses the clip, going down
15.2 Muralitharan to Taylor, 2 runs, short on the stumps, Taylor punches it to deep mid wicket, takes two, Taylor is away
Ross Taylor, the man in form comes in
The plot thickens. Just when it seemed that Bangalore were in the driver's seat, Muralitharan has struck with a vital blow. Can Kohli and Taylor take it home from here?
Muralitharan to Dravid, out Lbw!! The Magician has struck! Dravid goes down and looks to sweep, misses it, is rapped on the pads, Muralitharan lets an appeal rip, Simon Taufel finally agrees, he was working on the pads from round the wicket and finally Muralitharan got his fish, is there another twist? Dravid lbw b Muralitharan 44(39) [4s-6]
Muttiah Muralitharan [2.0-0-5-0] is back into the attack
