OT

Pitching in line, Impact in line, but wickets missing. Mire survives. will have to wait a little longer for his 200th ODI wicket. Coming to the ball - it was in-dipper from outside off. Mire was stuck in the crease and wears it on the pad. Swings too much and he survives with a review

4

to Mire, FOUR, what a reply from Mire. Stands tall and picks the length up early to pull it to deep mid-wicket. Came right off the screws

4

Hasaranga to Masakadza, FOUR, half-volley outside off. Masakadza drives it uppishly wide of Malinga at mid-off, who dives but fails to get his hands underneath the ball. A better fielder would have got an hand to it. Races away to the fence in a hurry

D

to Mire, no run, chance goes begging. A difficult one, but Sri Lanka need those at the moment to get into the game. This was whipped uppishly to the right of mid-wicket. The ball dips on the fielder and falls just in front of him

4

to Masakadza, FOUR, Masakadza gets right to he pitch of the ball and goes through the line. Lifts it over mid-off and collects another boundary to his name

6

Hasaranga to Mire, SIX, this time Mire gets a hold of it. Gets low and slog sweeps it over deep mid-wicket. Sounded sweet as it left the bat

W

to Mire, out Bowled!! Finally, Sri Lanka have managed to get a breakthrough. The damage has been done though. Mire picks the wrong ball to sweep. It was on middle and leg. He plants his front foot outside the line and misses for the ball to crash the middle-leg stump. No real celebrations from the hosts as they know the job is yet to be done. Mire b 43(32) [4s-5 6s-2]

4

to Masakadza, FOUR, fifty for Masakadza. His 31st in ODIs. Also brings up 5000 runs in ODIs. He cuts it wide of point and calls for two. The man in the deep, runs across and dives. Can't pull the ball back in near the ropes. His team mates are up on their feet to applaud the effort

4

to Masakadza, FOUR, lovely hit! wanted to end this inswinger on the off stump, so he started outside off but started very wide, Masakadza used the width on offer and drove it nicely off the front foot past the diving man at cover

4

Hasaranga to Masakadza, FOUR, lovely drive after stepping down the pitch. Flighted delivery on the stumps, Masakadza gets to the pitch of the ball and drills it past the umpire

D

to Masakadza, no run, in the airrrr and dropped. Tough chance for . Full delivery on the stumps, Masakadza drives it down the ground, gets his right hand in his followthrough. Didn't have time to react

4

to Musakanda, FOUR, flicked uppishly between the two close-in fielders at short mid-wicket. Slinga bowls an inswinging full toss, Musakanda doesn't control flick shot and gets away with it

W

to Masakadza, out Caught by Kulasekara!! In the airrrr and that's a lovely grab by Kula at mid-off. Timed his jump to perfection and held on despite tumbling onto the ground. It's the slower delivery outside off stump, Masakadza was looking for a lofted drive, didn't middle this one. End of a fine innings from the opener. He looked down in disappointment when the catch was taken. Can Sri Lanka get back into the game with this opening? Masakadza c Kulasekara b 73(86) [4s-9 6s-1]

4

to Musakanda, FOUR, slower delivery and Musakanda launches it over mid-wicket, the man in the deep can't get there, four more to Zimbabwe

W

to Craig Ervine, out Lbw!! Sri Lanka go for a review for LBW. Given not out on field. Front foot is well in. There is no bat involved too. Pitches in line and straightens enough to beat the outside edge. But was it high? No it isn't. Three reds on the HawkEye and Sri Lanka reverse the decision. It was Mathews' call to go for the review, Dickwella didn't look convinced. Will this open the gate for Sri Lanka? Coming to the ball - it was well tossed up on leg-stump. Craig Ervine goes on the back foot to defend and misses as it turns away. Hits him on the back pad and rolls to the off-side. Craig Ervine lbw b 2(6)

W

to Sean Williams, out Caught by Kusal Mendis!! Sri Lanka are back in it. Sean Williams looks to play against the turn. Closes the bat face early and gets a leading edge straight to short cover. Kusal Mendies takes a sharp catch and the crowd are up on their feet to back the home team. Sean Williams c Kusal Mendis b 2(7)

4

to Musakanda, FOUR, that's been clubbed down the ground. Too full outside off, Musakanda gets low and drills it straight over the non-strikers head. Long-on had no chance of stopping that

4

Hasaranga to Musakanda, FOUR, Musakanda picks the wrong 'un and dispatches it to the deep mid-wicket fence with a pull. The fielder in the deep escorts to the boundary

W

to Musakanda, out Caught by Wanidu Hasaranga!! Musakanda has thrown it away. He was batting so well. Comes down the track and chips it to long-on. Didn't try to hit it hard either. Hasaranga runs forward and takes a tumbling catch. Pressure right back on Zimbabwe now. Meanwhile the umpires decide to use the time for a drinks break. Musakanda c Wanidu Hasaranga b 37(49) [4s-4]

4

to Raza, FOUR, half-volley outside off, Raza creams it through the covers. Races away in a jiffy

W

to Waller, out Caught&Bowled!! gets his man. It was full on leg-stump. Waller closes the bat face on the flick and squirts a leading edge back to , who takes a good return catch. The crowd go berserk. Anyone's game from now. Waller c and b 1(3)

W

to Moor, out Caught by Kusal Mendis!! No.7 goes down. Credit to Mathews for giving such a field for Akila . It turns just enough to take the inside edge of the push from Moor. The ball was flying towards Kusal Mendis at leg slip. He moves to his left and snaffles it before rolling on his shoulder. Moor c Kusal Mendis b 1(7)

6

to Raza, SIX, Raza continues to play his game. Comes down the track and thumps it over long-off for a huge six

6

Hasaranga to Raza, SIX, Zimbabwe create history, their first series win against a Test playing nation since 2013. This is their first away series win in 8 years, their first series win against Sri Lanka. Coming to the ball, this was tossed up invitingly outside off, Raza came down the track, doesn't get close to the ball, goes through with the lofted off-drive. Tension mounted as the ball hung in the air, the fielder at long-off sensed a chance, but the wind just took the ball away from him and over the ropes

W

to Dickwella, out Caught by Moor!! This is a huge wicket for Zimbabwe. Boy, aren't they happy! Looks like a definite plan to come round the wicket for Dickwella. dishes in a good length delivery outside off and gets it to hold it's line to take the outside edge. Dickwella was stuck in his crease and feels for the ball. Moor takes a comfortable catch behind the stumps and jumps with joy. Dickwella c Moor b 3(8)

4

to Gunathilaka, FOUR, streaky runs for Gunathilaka. Gunathilaka gets squared up on the back of a length delivery that holds it's line. Takes the outside edge between slip and gully. Wouldn't have carried as Gunathilaka plays it with soft hands. There is no third man and that goes for a boundary

W

to Kusal Mendis, out Caught by Cremer!! Huge wicket for Sikandar . A soft dismissal as Kusal Mendis comes down the track and chips it straight to mid-wicket. Cremer pouches it and throws the ball up in the air in delight. Zimbabwe are on a roll here. Kusal Mendis c Cremer b 1(8)

4

to Gunathilaka, FOUR, Tendai goes wide of the crease and angles it on the pads, all Gunathilaka had to do was to get sme bat on ball with fine leg inside the circle. Gunathilaka gets enough bat and it races down to fine leg in a jiffy

4

to Gunathilaka, FOUR, excellent shot from Gunathilaka. The timing was even better. Leans onto the front foot and creams it through the covers. Holds the pose to the camera as the ball races away to the boundary

4

to Tharanga, FOUR, wasn't that short, but Tharanga is in that sort of form. Picks the length early and nails the pull to deep mid-wicket

W

to Tharanga, out Bowled!! Oh dear! What a ball that is. It was bowled at 73.6ks which did the trick. Tharanga plays it inside the line, thinking the ball won't spin which wasn't the case. It grips and spins right across to knock the off-stump. Tharanga can't believe as he stands there shell shocked. Zimbabwe are over the moon with this wicket as Tharanga was in great touch throughout the series. Tharanga b 6(9) [4s-1]

4

to Gunathilaka, FOUR, bangs it halfway down the track and gets punished as the ball didn't have enough venom in it. Gunathilaka swivels across and rolls his wrists on the pull to get it towards deep mid-wicket fence

OT

to Mathews, no run, Zimbabwe want to take the LBW case upstairs. Front foot is well inside the popping crease. Looks like there is no inside edge and he is caught deep in the crease. Umpire takes another look at the inside edge. Can't spot any though. More angles to check if there was some bat on it. Third umpire thinks there was some bat on it and has turned it down. Coming to the ball - It a good length delivery angling in, Mathews was caught in the crease as he looked to tuck and misses. There was no UltraEdge to confirm and the umpire was restricted to a few angles

4

to Mathews, FOUR, starts with a poor delivery down the leg. Mathews gets a tickle down to fine leg and it races away into the fence

OT

to Mathews, no run, costly miss for Zimbabwe. Had keeper scampered to the stumps, he could have got Mathews run out. Mathews was looking for a quick single after tapping it to the left of cover, Gunathilaka wasn't keen on it and sends him back. He was too late as the fielder fires in the throw and misses at the striker's end

OT

to Gunathilaka, 2 runs, run-out check has been sent upstairs. Looks like Gunathilaka has made his ground with a dive. Not out displays on the gaint screen. Gunathilaka paddles it fine and calls for two. The fielder was quick to get rid of the ball, but wasn't enough to catch Gunathilaka stranded

4

to Mathews, FOUR, cracking shot, poor ball from , width on offer, Mathews gets on top of the bounce and cracks it square on the off-side, beats point and rolls away to the fence

4

to Mathews, FOUR, that's easy pickings for Mathews, was looking for the yorker, offers a full-toss on Mathews's pads, all he needs is to get some bat on that, he does so and the ball rolls away to the fence

4

to Gunathilaka, FOUR, edged and four, width on offer from , Gunathilaka was looking to dab it down towards third man, gets it finer than he wanted, gets it past the keeper and beats third man - diving to his right

4

to Mathews, FOUR, lovely shot, Mathews shimmies down the track, gets close to the pitch of the ball and drives it against the turn, gets it to the left of mid-on and into the fence

W

to Mathews, out Caught by Masakadza!! Lovely ball from and he's got the big wicket of Mathews. Excellent catch from the big man as well, dived forward, got both hands underneath and holds on. Celebrations in the Zimbabwe camp as the dangerous Mathews falls, coming to the ball - this was a lovely leg-break, pitched outside off and spun away, drew Mathews into playing at that, well in front of the body and found the edge. Mathews c Masakadza b 24(47) [4s-4]

OT

to Gunathilaka, 1 run, fifty for Gunathilaka, his 7th in ODIs, a hard-fought knock from the left-hander, punches a well flighted delivery towards long-off

4

Williams to Gunathilaka, byes, FOUR, Williams pushes one down the leg-side as Gunathilaka shuffled across on the lap swep, he misses and do does Moor, the ball rolls away for a welcome boundary to Sri Lanka

W

Williams to Gunathilaka, out Lbw!! Gunathilaka doesn't bother to review that. Infact he has been called by his partner and they have a chat before he makes a long walk back. This one skids on the surface and pings Gunathilaka low on the pad. He was late to get his bat down after going a longway across his stumps. Looked like that would have gone onto to hit leg-stump. Williams roars with delight. HawkEye shows three reds. Gunathilaka lbw b Williams 52(86) [4s-5]

W

to Wanidu Hasaranga, out Caught by Cremer!! Hasaranga goes for a duck. Was a poor shot to be frank. It was short on middle, he ends up whipping it straight to short mid-wicket. Didn't look to hit it hard too. Just chips it to Cremer, who takes a good diving catch to his left. We are into the Sri Lankan tail now. Wanidu Hasaranga c Cremer b 0(5)

4

Williams to Kulasekara, FOUR, Kulasekara opens the bat face and dabs it wide of short third man. The fielder gives chase only to come second as the outfield is very fast here at Hambantota

W

to Kulasekara, out Bowled!! Kulasekara had no clue what was coming. Stunned silence in the stands. It was a wrong 'un from . Kulasekara comes forward and plays for the leg-break. the ball sneaks through the defence and shatters the stumps. jumps with delight. Kulasekara b 5(5) [4s-1]

OT

to Gunaratne, 1 run, run-out check has been sent upstairs. Dananjaya has made his ground with a dive. Gunaratne whips it to mid-wicket and takes on the fielders arm for a risky single. Dananjaya was quick to respond and hence he made his ground before the keeper taking the bails off

W

to Dananjaya, out Caught by Musakanda!! Stunner from Musakanda and Sri Lanka slip further. Is it the catch of the series? Reckon so, can't see any catch bettering this one. This was short and wide of off, Dananjaya backed away and cracked it hard - off the middle of the bat, it was travelling and to the right of point, Musakanda threw himself at the ball, went one-handed and holds onto a ripper. Zimbabwe have been exceptional in the field today. Silences the crowd again, Dananjaya can't believe, but he has to go. Dananjaya c Musakanda b 7(20)

4

to Gunaratne, FOUR, cracking shot, handy runs these for Sri Lanka, too short from , Gunaratne swivels across and swats it behind square on the on-side, bisects the two men in the deep to a nicety

4

to Chameera, FOUR, poor fielding and Zimbabwe have gifted three runs to Chameera. This was full and on the stumps, Chameera takes it on the full-toss and clips it in front of square on the on-side. The fielder gets across, slides and lets the ball go through

4

to Gunaratne, FOUR, fifty for Gunaratne, his first in ODIs, brings it up with a switch-hit. The men on the off-side were all in the ring, he bends down low, takes it on the full and clears the man at cover, his 2nd fifty plus score in ODIs

4

to Gunaratne, FOUR, cracking shot, Gunaratne is taking some sheen off this Zimbabwe bowling effort, short and on the stumps, Gunaratne backs away, creates room and slaps it over point for a boundary

4

to Gunaratne, FOUR, back-to-back boundaries from Gunaratne, this was a length delivery outside off, Gunaratne backs away, makes room, opens the face of the bat and clears backward point, brings up Sri Lanka's 200
