Venue: Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong
Date: 26 October 2018

Bangladesh 288/3 (42.1 Ovs) RR: 6.83 | Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 7 wickets

commentary

The two went after the bowlers right from the outset. It came up in 180 balls with both scoring tons. Sarkar had 6 maximums in his innings as he took the Zimbabwe bowlers to the cleaners. Kayes was initially the aggressor but once Sarkar got going, the former was happy to play second fiddle. The two however, could not stay there till the end as one perished shortly after getting to his ton and the other being dismissed with not much needed. However, Rahim and Mithun ensured they did not lose any more wickets and finished the game off.

BANGLADESH HAVE INFLICTED A CLEAN SWEEP! A mockery, that is exactly what Bangladesh have made of this run chase. This is the highest run chase on this ground and they have done it without breaking a sweat. Also, they did not get off to the best of starts as they lost Liton Das on the very first ball of their innings. Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das then joined association and smashed a partnership of 220 runs.

W Masakadza to M Rahim, NOT OUT! Umpire's call as it is clipping the bails. Zimbabwe do not lose a review. It was more out of desperation though. This was bowled slower through the air around middle, it pitches and then turns. Rahim is beaten on the outside edge as he tries to defend and the ball hits him high on the back leg. The players appeal but the umpire is not interested. After a long thought, Masakadza signals the 'T'. Replays roll in and it does not show three reds. So the on-field call remains.

A late review as an appeal for an LBW has been turned down. Rahim is the man in question.
