Henry to Gayle, FOUR, Gayle makes room, only a bit and thrashes it wide of cover. Races to the fence, Windies are away in typical Gayle manner

W

Henry to Gayle, out Caught by Munro!! That's a big wicket. Gayle departs trying to force things. Clears the front leg to this length delivery and tries to launch over mid-off, the ball skids on and hits the toe of the bat before skying over backward point. Munro keeps his eyes on the ball as he runs back and takes it easily in the end. Gayle c Munro b Henry 4(6) [4s-1]

W

to Shai Hope, out Caught by Ross Taylor!! What happened there? Shai Hope pulls it straight to the fielder at mid-wicket. Shortish ball that leaves Shai Hope, he rotates himself on the pull and times it well, does not quite get the elevation and Taylor reverse cups to put Windies in a spot of bother. Shai Hope c Ross Taylor b 2(4)

W

Henry to Kyle Hope, out Lbw!! Kyle Hope consults his partner but does not review in the end. He was camping on the back foot to this relatively fuller ball and failed to counter the inward angle. Was hit pretty low on the legs and it looked close. A loud appeal was followed by a slow raise of the finger by the umpire. Windies in deep deep trouble now. Kyle Hope lbw b Henry 1(3)

W

to Mohammed, out Bowled!! is running through this line-up. Jason falls victim to a ball that straightens a bit around middle and off. He was hoping for the ball to go with the angle and drove keeping that in mind, the ball nipped back in a bit, brushed the flap of the front pad and crashed on to the stumps. Mohammed b 1(5)

W

to Walton, out Bowled!! When he hits prime, he is poetry. is a delight to watch. What a ball; a yorker that swings late and leaves Walton with not many options. Tries to bring the bat down but is late, very late. The ball hits the root of the stumps. 5 down for 9. Walton b 0(4)

4

Henry to Holder, FOUR, back of a length delivery. Holder stands tall and punches through cover. Races away to the fence

4

Henry to Holder, FOUR, this is in the air. But goes wide of the man at cover; similar delivery and Holder opts for the punch, does not get on top of it but manages to place wide of the fielder

D

Ferguson to Rovman Powell, 2 runs, length ball and Rovman Powell lofts it without much timing. Henry follows it but it only brushes his fingers. The batsmen come back for two

6

Astle to Holder, SIX, Holder takes Astle on and clears the cow corner with a big heave. Only just cleared the fence on that occasion

4

Astle to Holder, FOUR, Holder makes room, a lot of it. And then drives it wide of the man at cover; no man in the deep and it races away

W

to Rovman Powell, out Caught by Lockie Ferguson!! has been varying the pace in this over and now gets rid of Rovman Powell using the same ploy. Rovman Powell left his crease early even as the ball looped on, he went for the shot anyway and got a thick outside edge that carried towards the man at short third man. Rovman Powell c Lockie Ferguson b 11(23)

W

Astle to Nurse, out Bowled!! Googly has done the trick for Astle. Nicely looped up around off. Nurse tries to drive agains the turn, leaves a lot of gap between the pad and the bat; the ball crashes the leg-stump. Nurse b Astle 1(7)

W

to Holder, out Caught by Neil Broom!! Should be the last nail in the coffin. Slower through the air and kept Holder waiting. Waned to dispatch it over mid-wicket with a slog, got a thickish portion of the outer half and went high towards cover. Broom backpedalled and got his both hands under it. Holder c Neil Broom b 34(21) [4s-3 6s-1]

W

to Cottrell, out Caught by Matt Henry!! Third one for . Tosses it up around off and gets the ball to turn, Cottrell tries to club over mid-wicket, ends up slicing to the man at long-off. Cottrell c Matt Henry b 3(4)

4

to Nikita Miller, FOUR, touch short and a little wide. Nikita Miller stands tall and cuts wide of backward point

4

Ferguson to Gabriel, FOUR, fuller ball. Gabriel drives in the air but away from the bowler's reach and then manages to beat mid-off too

OT

Astle to Gabriel, no run, Gabriel wanted to flick but it hit the pad and popped back to the bowler. Astle wanted to add a wicket to his tally and decided to review it in the end

4

to Munro, FOUR, this one will run away for the first boundary of the innings. Short of length, it's too straight and Munro gets inside the line nicely to pull it away past short fine leg. Just a short-arm jab

W

to Worker, out Bowled!! The in-form Worker has been dismissed cheaply. This was just a slight misjudgement of line by him. It was short enough for the pull, no doubt, but with the ball swinging away outside off, he was left having to fetch it from too far wide. Drags it back off the under-edge onto the stumps. So a failure for him today after back-to-back fifties. marches back and salutes in celebration. Worker b 2(6)

4

to Munro, FOUR, chases a wide delivery and lashes it over mid-off. Came off the toe-end but still has enough to clear the field

4

to Munro, FOUR, phew, this has been lifted effortlessly. and it's nearly gone all the way. Full pitched at the stumps, Munro's bottom hand takes over as he whips it over mid-on

W

to Neil Broom, out Caught by Gayle!! has another and it's another salute from him. That's his celebration I guess. Again, another batsman eager to get a cross-batted shot away when the line doesn't necessarily warrant it. Too close to cut for Broom who edges it straight to the returning Gayle at first slip. Neil Broom c Gayle b 2(8)

W

to Munro, out Caught by Gayle!! Windies on a roll this morning, after losing the toss. This, perhaps, is a more cuttable delivery than the one which Broom got out to. But it's 's extra bounce which does Munro in as he flat-footedly slashes at it. The top-edge flies straight into the safe hands of Gayle again at first slip. Gee, did NZ make the right call at the toss? Munro c Gayle b 21(19) [4s-3]

OT

to Latham, no run, loud, loud shout for leg-before with the ball nipping back into Latham's front pad against the angle. First thoughts are that it's too high. It's hit around the knee-roll, even above it. This doesn't look like a smart review from , who probably got carried away. They're checking for an edge but there isn't any. Here's ball-tracking.. and as expected, it's bouncing over the stumps. Review lost

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, superbly driven through extra-cover, lovely timing. Bit too full from and Taylor dispatches him

4

to Latham, FOUR, pulled away hard wide of fine leg. Gabriel throws himself across to cut it off but the ball rolls away off his palm

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, slapped away through point, didn't bother keeping it down

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, this is a shabby start from . Another one which is short and wide, hammered away through backward point. Went like a rocket

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, and a third boundary to finish the over, although this is a fortuitous one for Taylor. Drives away from the body and edges through the vacant slip region. That's partly 's fault too - the way he's bowled doesn't warrant any slips

4

Miller to Latham, FOUR, sweeps it away past short fine leg, and despite the heavy outfield, this one's got enough timing to run away

4

to Latham, FOUR, steps down and gets a full toss. Slices it past the short third man fielder

4

to Latham, FOUR, flat and short this time. Latham cuts off the back foot and places between point and third man

4

to Latham, FOUR, heaves across the line to this fuller ball. Gets a thick inside edge that scurries to the fine leg fence

W

Miller to Latham, out Stumped!! Leaves the crease too early but Miller smartly cuts down the length and bowls it quick outside off. Latham tries to adjust to cut but does not get bat to it, misses and the keeper does the rest. Latham st Shai Hope b Miller 37(42) [4s-5]

4

to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, that's the four New Zealand needed. Henry Nicholls makes room to this fuller ball and drills to the deep extra cover fence

4

to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, swipes across the line and beats the man at deep mid-wicket

4

to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, full ball. Henry Nicholls gets across and scoops over the keeper. One bounce and over the ropes

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, full toss. Ross Taylor gets across and whips it to the deep mid-wicket fence

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, another full toss. Put away between long-on and deep mid-wicket. Scurries to the fence once again
