4

to Worker, FOUR, he has whipped this so stylishly through mid-wicket. Dismissed off his pads by Worker. Wow that looked good

4

to Munro, FOUR, full ball on leg, Munro flicks it through mid-wicket

4

to Munro, FOUR, pitched up outside off, driven through extra-cover. These two off to a brisk start, just what West Indies can't afford

4

to Munro, FOUR, this is gorgeous timing from Munro. He's got a feel of it now. Good length outside off, and he crunches the drive on the up through extra-cover

4

Beaton to Woke, FOU, glides it away down to the thid man bounday. Fluy of uns fo New Zealand. Woke gets on top of the bounce nicely and uses the pace with this one

4

to Munro, FOUR, oh shot. He's looking very dangerous the way he's timing these drives on the up. Mid-off has no chance

4

Beaton to Muno, FOU, dilled back down the gound by Muno. Beaton puts his hands out to stop it but it nealy takes his finges off to the bounday. He's off the field

4

to Worker, FOUR, well, what do I know, he's absolutely smoked the cut this time. Stays on the front foot and bang.. through point

4

to Worker, FOUR, short and wide, and back-to-back cuts to the boundary

4

Beaton to Muno, FOU, sits up outside off to be cashed though the coves. Windies being hammeed

4

Beaton to Woke, FOU, shot and wide, Woke uppe-cuts it ove slip and beats the man at thid man

4

to Worker, FOUR, full and wide, dolly of a slower ball and Worker smashes it through the covers

D

Williams to Worker, 2 runs, has this been dropped? Would have been a stunner, but I think he did get there. Worker cuts uppishly but hard and low to the right of point, where substitute Kyle Hope dives with one hand. Can't cling on

4

to Worker, FOUR, runs away off the toe-end to the third man boundary. This is not good bowling. Too short, too wide, too often

OT

to Worker, 1 run, pulled away down to fine leg to bring up his second ODI fifty

4

to Worker, FOUR, he has smashed this pull shot through mid-wicket. not quick enough for this length

4

to Munro, FOUR, clears his front leg and smashes this over mid-off. NZ running away

4

Williams to Munro, FOUR, slower ball on the pads, swung away into the fine leg boundary

W

Williams to Munro, out Caught by Nurse!! This one kicks up from a back of length and surprises Munro. The shot he was looking for - driving off the front foot - was not on anyway. It spoons up off the splice and it's a dolly for short cover. Finally a breakthrough for the Windies. Munro c Nurse b Williams 49(36) [4s-8]

4

to Williamson, FOUR, Williamson's late-cut finding its way to the boundary with precision. Such a fine shot

4

to Williamson, FOUR, goes even finer with this one and beats short third man. Lovely batting against spin. Makes some room and dabs it away

W

to Worker, out Bowled!! Cleaned him up. It's the cut shot again, the shot with which Worker has had a love-hate relation through this knock. It was never on with this delivery. The ball slides on rapidly, cramps him up, and Worker is so clearly late on it. Takes off stump with it. Worker b 57(66) [4s-8]

4

to Williamson, FOUR, short and wide, Williamson cuts through backward point for four. has to pull himself up. Too many freebies in the 19 balls he's bowled

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, driven straight back down the ground for four. continues to be expensive

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, lovely hands from Taylor as he cuts this behind backward point for four

4

to Williamson, FOUR, that's the release shot Williamson was looking for. A half-tracker from and the NZ skipper is onto it in a jiffy. Rocks back and crouches a touch to nail the pull past mid-wicket. Nobody in the deep. Brings up the 50-run stand

4

to Williamson, FOUR, nicely played! Stays back to this short ball and rides the bounce beautifully with a pull through backward square leg. It's well wide of the fine leg fielder who had no chance to cut it off

W

to Williamson, out Bowled!! Chopped on! The dab to third man has been Williamson's favorite strike rotation shot but it's also got him out plenty of times. Either he nicks them or ends up dragging them on. This time it's the latter as got this one to bounce a bit extra from a good length, the width also wasn't quite there but Williamson wanted to glide it down anyway. Ended up chopping it onto his sticks. lets out a huge roar in delight. It's a big wicket alright but it's probably come too late in the piece. Williamson b 38(45) [4s-5]

4

to Latham, FOUR, that's been cut away! Fractionally short from and that's all Latham needs. Quick on his feet as he rocks back to slash it away. Beats a diving backward point and sweeper cover couldn't stop it despite a desperate dive

W

to Latham, out Lbw!! Success for and he is pumped. It's an arm ball that skidded off the deck. Probably a bit straight to play across the line but that's what Latham does. Misses and is rapped on the front pad. Looked quite plumb to the naked eye and up went the umpire's finger. Latham did think of a review but Ross Taylor suggested that it was a quite obvious decision. NZ being hampered a bit in their home stretch. Should still get home comfortably though. Latham lbw b 17(19) [4s-1]

4

to Henry Nicholls, FOUR, finds the fence! There were quite a few loose balls with width and finally, Nicholls puts one away. Rocks back to this one and cracks the back foot punch. Splits extra cover and mid-off

W

to Henry Nicholls, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Thick edge and Hope pouches it with ease. Short of a length and Nicholls goes for the cut. It isn't that wide and there is a bit of extra bounce as well. Easiest of takes for the keeper and NZ lose their fifth. Just a few hits away now but the Windies will be hoping to make them work hard for the inevitable. Nicholls will be disappointed, this was a good opportunity to finish a game, that's how you learn as a lower middle order batsman but he hasn't managed to stay till the end. Henry Nicholls c Shai Hope b 17(21) [4s-1]

4

Powell to Todd Astle, FOUR, that's been clobbered! Ross Taylor had to move out of the way in time as this was struck seriously hard. On a good length outside off, Astle backed away and absolutely smashed this straight down the pitch. Through the legs of his partner. Mid-on had no chance

4

to Todd Astle, FOUR, easy pickings! Low full toss on the pads, Astle gets across a bit and flicks it through backward square leg. Timed it very sweetly and fine leg had no chance to cut it off

4

to Gayle, FOUR, full toss on leg, glanced away fine for four. He's released the pressure with a gift

4

to Lewis, FOUR, hint of width, Lewis lashes it away through point. Jumped on the opportunity there

6

to Gayle, SIX, this is what Gayle does. He consumes balls and then he launches them. Down the track for a giant loft over mid-off

4

to Gayle, FOUR, full and wide now, Gayle slashes it away over point. Now the fun begins

4

to Lewis, FOUR, reaches out and squeezes the yorker between backward point and short third man. So Windies are starting to find their feet

4

Ferguson to Gayle, FOUR, goes hard down the ground, mistimes it but it runs away from mid-on on this outfield

W

Bracewell to Gayle, out Caught by Latham!! Bracewell strikes with his first ball and it's the huuuuuuuge wicket of Gayle. Talk about a dream start. Back of length, leaves Gayle from off-stump and squares him up to find the edge. Absolutely massive breakthrough. Gayle c Latham b Bracewell 22(31) [4s-3 6s-1]

W

Bracewell to Shai Hope, out Caught by Latham!! Given out again. Given out caught-behind. Shai Hope reviews immediately though. But there's a faint nick on Snicko. He will have to go. Shakes his head as he leaves. On that evidence however, there definitely seemed to be a noise. Whatever the case, Bracewell has now got two wickets off his first two legitimate deliveries on comeback. Short of length, nips in and takes a feather through to the keeper as it cuts Hope in half. Shai Hope c Latham b Bracewell 0(1)

4

Bracewell to Lewis, FOUR, cracks this off the back foot past backward point. Packed a punch there

4

Bracewell to Hetmyer, FOUR, top-edge flies over first slip for four. Wasn't short enough to pull, and if it was, Hetmyer didn't get into a great position

4

Bracewell to Hetmyer, FOUR, floaty full toss, flicked away to the mid-wicket boundary. It was the off-cutter but it went wrong

4

Bracewell to Hetmyer, FOUR, here he goes again, getting a fair chunk of this. Little shimmy down, Bracewell responds by bowling it short but his pace doesn't trouble Hetmyer who hacks it over mid-wicket

4

Bracewell to Hetmyer, FOUR, look at that. Very adventurous. Opens up his stance and whacks the short ball over mid-on

4

to Lewis, FOUR, slaps this over mid-off. just bowling gentle off-cutters here. Lewis looks at a couple and then whacks this one

W

Astle to Hetmyer, out Caught by Lockie Ferguson!! Hetmyer has holed out here, something which you feared would happen given the way he was playing. Takes the spinner on, looking to launch him down the ground. Probably was the googly, comes from the outside half of Hetmyer's bat and is sliced down to long-off. Hetmyer c Lockie Ferguson b Astle 29(42) [4s-4]

4

to Mohammed, FOUR, half-volley outside off, Mohammed nails it through point. Good batsman this guy

OT

Ferguson to Lewis, 1 run, slight hesitation but they get the run eventually. Shorter length and Lewis tucks it gently towards mid-wicket. Stuttered a bit in the run but eventually got home in time

4

Ferguson to Mohammed, FOUR, ahhh, that's sublime! A half-volley and plenty of width on it, Mohammed creams the drive by leaning nicely into it. Beats a diving short cover and it's wide of extra cover who gives chase in vain

W

Ferguson to Mohammed, out Bowled!! Dragged on! The extra pace has done Mohammed in here. Short of a length and nipping in at 140kph, he was stuck on the crease and played down the wrong line. Ended up getting a thick inside edge that rattled the timber. Excellent captaincy from Williamson by bringing his two genuine quicks back into the attack. WI are in danger of imploding here. Lewis needs support. Mohammed b Ferguson 9(8) [4s-2]

OT

Ferguson to Lewis, 1 run, short of a length and around leg stump, tucked gently towards fine leg, first ODI fifty for Lewis. That's because the previous two times he converted his fifties into hundreds, WI will hope it repeats

4

Bracewell to Lewis, FOUR, good placement! Didn't quite middle it but the good thing was that he picked his spot. Short and wide outside off, Lewis decided to go well in front of square on the off-side. Cleared the infield comfortably, leaving deep point with no chance

D

Ferguson to Lewis, 1 run, that would have taken the umpire with it if Ferguson hadn't got his hand to it. Very full and Lewis bludgeoned it with all his might. Parried towards deep mid-off

W

Bracewell to Holder, out Caught by Ross Taylor!! Oh Rosco, you beauty! Plucks a superb one-handed leaping take and isn't he delighted! A horror stroke though from Holder, it was a slower ball that was speared wider outside off and he went for the heroic lofted stroke. Eventually got a thick slice that was brilliantly pouched by Taylor who was stationed strategically at a very wide first slip. Good captaincy and superb fielding, aided by some mindless batting. Lewis is running out of partners here. Third scalp for Bracewell. Holder c Ross Taylor b Bracewell 8(14)

4

Bracewell to Lewis, FOUR, some respite for the Windies. Fuller ball and it's in the slot for Lewis. He lofts it cleanly over mid-off to pick up a boundary. Was a safe shot with the field up in front of the wicket

4

Ferguson to Rovman Powell, FOUR, streaky runs! That's a bottom edge that's bounced over the keeper to the fence. Unusual sight. Shortish and outside off, Powell is cramped due to the extra pace as he tries to defend. Will get a boundary nevertheless, he won't mind

6

to Lewis, SIX, that's launched into the stands! Lovely swivel and pick up pull from Lewis over backward square leg. Once he middled that, it was only going one way - for a maximum. persisted with the short stuff but this sat up nicely to be hit and was spanked

4

to Lewis, FOUR, that's a cracking stroke! Short of a length and a hint of width, allows Lewis to free his arms and absolutely nails this back foot punch. Extra cover dives to his right but it's past him like a bullet train

W

Astle to Lewis, out Lbw!! MASSIVE wicket! Told you, the leggie to the southpaw was always going to be a pivotal contest, it's the bowler who has won. Tosses this googly up around middle, Lewis looks for the sweep but it's a tad too full and he gets pinged on the front pad. The umpire's finger went up almost suddenly. Did it turn too much? Lewis doesn't have the opportunity to review as Hope had used it up early. Decisive strike from the debutant and he is pumped. Fine knock from Lewis. Lewis lbw b Astle 76(100) [4s-7 6s-1]

W

Astle to Nurse, out Lbw!! The debutant is having a field day. Gets his third. This one drifts in around middle and skids off the deck to ping Nurse on the back pad. He was probably playing for the turn but there was none there. Only issue could have been the height but the umpire felt that it was fair enough. The Windies innings is getting derailed here. Nurse lbw b Astle 2(8)

6

Ferguson to Rovman Powell, SIX, that's gone out of the ground! And into the truck outside on the road besides the stadium. Wow! This guy can hit it a long way, mind you. Shortish in length and Powell was backing away a touch premeditating it. Clobbers the pull over deep square leg. Picked the bones out of it

W

Ferguson to R Beaton, out Caught by Latham!! Edged and gone! The extra pace does the trick for Ferguson as he gets this one right on the money. Back of a length and just around off stump, Beaton hangs his bat at it as the ball whizzes past the outside edge. A gentle feather and Latham pouches it with ease. He was really late on the stroke there, clocked 141.5kph on the speedometer. R Beaton c Latham b Ferguson 3(26)

4

Ferguson to Kesrick Williams, FOUR, handy runs! Mid-off is up and Williams decides to go down the ground. Premeditates by backing away and finds the length very full, attacking the stumps. Bludgeons the drive back past the bowler

6

to Rovman Powell, SIX, nearly a blinder by Nicholls! Stuck out his right hand with a leap and it stuck for a while but the momentum was always taking him over. Shorter ball and Powell backs away for the pull. Didn't quite middle it but still had the wings to clear the ropes

6

to Rovman Powell, SIX, he's smoked this! Fuller and around middle, he stays still and smacks this straight down the ground. Into the sight-screen. Top shot! He is pushing the Windies into a respectable score here

4

to Rovman Powell, FOUR, Powell is on a roll here! Slower and fuller outside off, carves it past backward point with a slice. The field is up and it runs away. Maiden ODI fifty for Powell and it's been a gem from him

6

Bracewell to Rovman Powell, SIX, that's huge! Boy, Powell was itching to get on strike and this is why. Slower and fuller outside off, he's picked it early and sends it deep into the crowd at long-off. Williamson can only watch it soar over him

W

Bracewell to Rovman Powell, out Caught by Williamson!! What a catch from the skipper! Superbly done to end a sensational knock from Powell. Carves this fuller ball over the wide mid-off region. Probably got a bit more height than he would have liked and Williamson covers admirable ground from long-off by racing to his left and showcases good catching technique to pouch it near the fence. Fourth scalp for Bracewell. Rovman Powell c Williamson b Bracewell 59(50) [4s-2 6s-4]
