4

Taylor to Roy, FOUR, short and veering down leg. Roy helps it with a pull. Fine leg was in the ring

4

to Roy, FOUR, hops back and tucks this short ball through fine leg. Two fielders chase but to no avail

4

Taylor to Roy, FOUR, another short ball and this time Roy is waiting on the back foot. Waits and pulls through backward of square leg

4

to Bairstow, FOUR, drifts down leg. Bairstow gets across and tucks to the fine leg fence

4

Taylor to Roy, FOUR, full toss. Roy takes a stride forward and cracks it past the man at mid-off

4

Taylor to Roy, FOUR, similar length and this time Roy is able to find the gap on the punch through cover

4

Taylor to Roy, FOUR, it's tennis forehand from Roy. Waits for the short ball and slaps it over mid-off

4

Joseph to Roy, FOUR, short ball and Roy pulls it in front of square on the on-side. In fact, well in between mid-on and mid-wicket

4

Joseph to Roy, FOUR, as straight as an arrow. Roy punches back towards the bowler and the umpire has to take an evasive action to avoid that. Races away to the fence

OT

to Roy, 1 run, fifty for Roy. Waits on the back foot and punches to sweeper cover for a single

4

to Roy, FOUR, short ball. Roy moves across and helps it with a cute pull to the fine leg fence

4

to Roy, FOUR, back to back boundaries for Roy now. Too short, does not rise enough. Roy pulls through square leg

4

to Bairstow, leg byes, FOUR, errs this time. Sends it on the legs of Bairstow. Brushes the thigh pad and scurries down to the fine leg fence

4

Cummins to Bairstow, FOUR, moves across and helps this shortish ball to the fine leg boundary with a tuck

6

Cummins to Roy, SIX, Roy makes room in the crease and launches it over the bowler's head. Goes all the way. Big hit

4

Cummins to Roy, no ball, FOUR, a front foot no ball and to aggravate matters he bowls a horror delivery down leg. All Roy needed to do was get some bat on ball, helped away to the fine leg fence

6

Joseph to Roy, no ball, SIX, luck swinging Roy's way. He gets another front foot no ball, and what's more? A half-volley on middle, Roy thunderbolts it over long-on for a massive six

W

Joseph to Roy, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Joseph lets out a few expletives as Roy makes his way back to the pavilion. Pacy good length delivery in the channel, no feet from Roy. Tries to run it down to third man with an open bat face, ends up slicing it straight into the hands of Hope. A century there for the taking and Roy will kick himself for not making the opportunity count. Roy c Shai Hope b Joseph 84(66) [4s-11 6s-2]

4

Cummins to Root, FOUR, that should get Joe Root going. Short and Root reckons the time's right to flex his muscles with a swivel pull wide of square leg

4

Joseph to Root, FOUR, cross-seamer, but that's bowled too short. Root pulls with disdain, acres of space backwards of square leg

W

Joseph to Bairstow, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Joseph is a angry young man reckons Mic Holding on air. He says that because for the second time after picking a wicket, Joseph has let out few foul words. Totally unnecessary I would say. Bairstow has a quizzical look on his face as he walks back witnessing the death-stare from the bowler. A fullish delivery, zipping away outside off, Bairstow tries to milk one down to third man, but instead hits it straight into the mitts of Shai Hope. Bairstow c Shai Hope b Joseph 39(51) [4s-2]

4

Joseph to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, edged and four! Between first and third slip. There was no second slip in place and had there been one, Eoin Morgan would have been a goner. He flashes one away from the body and a thick edge runs in the gap en route to the third man fence

4

Taylor to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, that should give him some confidence. A blazing drive from the skipper. Bends his back knee and allows his bat to talk with a eye-pleasing stroke through covers

W

Joseph to Root, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Joseph has a third, and it's the big one. He jumps and lets out a big roar. Wasn't the greatest of deliveries, but it was enough for Root to misjudge the length slightly. Don't think it was short enough to be pulled away. Also, Root was fetching it from outside off stump. The under-edge is found and it's a regulation catch for Shai Hope. Windies making critical inroads. Root c Shai Hope b Joseph 14(15) [4s-2]

4

Joseph to Buttler, FOUR, shuffles across and clips a full ball for four, through mid-wicket. Jos Buttler is a no non-sense individual, he sees the length and picks his gap

4

to Buttler, FOUR, tosses it full outside off, Buttler's instincts take over. Slams the drive wide of mid-off with supreme ease

4

to Eoin Morgan, FOUR, gets a full toss and he reverse sweeps it wide of backward point. Easy peasy

OT

Joseph to Buttler, no run, direct hit and Eoin Morgan was gone! He's getting desperate here. Buttler drops the ball just beside the pitch and out of nowhere he sees his skipper rush towards him. Sent back instantly. Joseph got to the ball quickly, but he missed the target. Morgan dived but that wouldn't have rescued him

W

Joseph to Eoin Morgan, out Caught by (sub)Kyle Hope!! What a catch. That's one for the social media virals. Morgan gets a short ball and he doesn't quite get hold of the pull shot; top-edge pops and keeps flying towards the fine leg region. 9/10 times, spectators on TV would have assumed that to be a one-bounce four. But, but...Kyle Hope jumps into the frame, leaps as high as he can and plucks it out mid-air with his feet tangled slightly. Excellent acrobatic ability. Joseph is having a dream-run with the ball tonight. Eoin Morgan c (sub)Kyle Hope b Joseph 19(17) [4s-3]

W

Joseph to Billings, out Caught by Gayle!! Chris Gayle...What a corker that. Superb catch. Billings shuffles across off and looks to work one into the on-side, the length wasn't quite ideal to play that shot. The pace and bounce of Joseph draws a thick leading edge; flies low to the right of Gayle at slip and the big man takes a bonzer, diving full length and grabbing it one-handed. Fifer for Joseph and he's on a hat-trick now. Billings c Gayle b Joseph 2(4)

4

Joseph to Moeen Ali, FOUR, short, but not short enough for Moeen Ali who pulls one-legged through mid-wicket

4

to Buttler, FOUR, too full just outside off, Buttler baseball-smashes it back over the bowler's head. Hit flat and hard

4

to Buttler, FOUR, punched and that's through backward point's fingers. Marlon Samuels was the fielder, he dived but didn't throw himself completely which cost four runs for his side

6

to Moeen Ali, SIX, shimmes out and wallops the ball over cow-corner. Moeen Ali makes batting look so easy. Period!

4

to Moeen Ali, FOUR, down again, dragged his length back, but Moeen Ali didn't hold back. Just flat-bats it for a one-bounce four over the bowler's head

6

to Moeen Ali, SIX, that sheer belief in Moeen Ali's eyes. He never looks hurried. Loads up for a slog-sweep and hits it many-a-mile over wide long-on

4

Cummins to Moeen Ali, FOUR, sees the width and lashes it over the fielder at backward point. Held nothing back there

4

Cummins to Buttler, FOUR, trademark Buttler. He shuffles across, gets down low and scoops the low full toss over short fine leg

4

Cummins to Moeen Ali, FOUR, Ali just carrying on from where he left in Bristol. Superb striking. Hangs back to a fullish ball and smokes it through extra-cover. What a partnership this is already. Superb counter-attacking

4

Taylor to Moeen Ali, FOUR, punches the half-volley over mid-off. Holder gave it a full stretch to the right, and came pretty close, but couldn't get fingers on it

4

Taylor to Moeen Ali, FOUR, huge cheers from the crowds who are aware of the situation. Poor ball from Taylor. He bowls a low full toss outside off and is driven away to the cover boundary

W

to Gayle, out Caught by Root!! Edged and taken at first slip. Gayle had to play at this one as stuck with middle and off line. Gayle pushed his bat at it, the movement took it across him and the edge was produced. Root at first slip was waiting to gobble it up. Gayle c Root b 2(4)

4

to Shai Hope, FOUR, angles on the legs of Shai Hope. Gets across and clips through mid-wicket

4

Ball to Lewis, FOUR, drifts on the legs of Lewis. Lewis flicks from the crease

4

to Shai Hope, FOUR, full ball. Shai Hope presents his bat-face straight and drives down the ground

W

to Shai Hope, out Caught by Buttler!! Shai Hope once again played inside the line; the ball went to the other side of the bat and took the edge before going to the keeper. Everyone but Shai Hope was convinced. Reviewed immediately, only to lose it for the team. West Indies in some trouble. Shai Hope c Buttler b 11(11) [4s-2]

4

to Lewis, FOUR, short and wide. Lewis goes back and cuts between cover and point

4

Ball to Lewis, FOUR, half-volley on off. Lewis ust has to keep his bat straight. He does and drives past mid-off

W

to Samuels, out Lbw!! Samuels has to go. Discusses with Lewis but does not realize he is not left with the review. Got too far across to work into the on-side. Could not get his bat to it and was struck in line. The height might have been an issue but umpire Rod Tucker did not think that way. Samuels lbw b 1(7)

4

Ball to Lewis, FOUR, short. Too much room on offer. Lewis umps back and cuts square on the off-side

4

to Lewis, FOUR, only slightly short, Lewis whips the pull away through backward square. Superb timing

4

to Mohammed, FOUR, a bit too full, Mohammed gets on top of the ball and drives through extra-cover

4

to Lewis, FOUR, he has cracked it. Short ball and there is no one in the deep at mid-wicket. Lewis goes back and pulls through the vacant region

4

to Mohammed, FOUR, slightly fuller. Mohammed trudges forward and drives through extra cover. Races across the turf

4

to Lewis, FOUR, second boundary of the over. Lewis drives through cover and leaves the fielder in the ring redundant

4

Ali to Mohammed, FOUR, breaks the shackles with a lovely lofted drive over extra-cover. Tempting flight from Ali outside off, and Mohammed's intentions are clear. Goes through with it nicely

OT

Ali to Lewis, 1 run, flat on off from round the wicket, Lewis makes room and punches through the covers for a half-century. Really good knock, adapting his game according to the situation to lead a recovery for the visitors

4

Rashid to Lewis, FOUR, flights it up generously but slips down the leg-side; Lewis punishes him. He bends down low and sweeps it past short fine leg

4

Rashid to Lewis, FOUR, now a touch of class off the back foot. That typical West Indian flourish as he punches the ball through extra-cover

4

Ali to Lewis, FOUR, after a quiet phase, the boundaries are now starting to come for the Windies. This is expertly done by Lewis, continuing to grow in confidence. The length isn't really all that short, but he stays back to it and then chops it very late to get it fine of short third man

4

Rashid to Lewis, FOUR, bowls it off the front of the hand, but drops it short and is cut away for four. There was no one in the deep, and Lewis only had to pierce a pretty strong off-side ring

OT

to Mohammed, 1 run, short of length just outside off, dabbed down to third man. 100-partnership up

4

to Mohammed, FOUR, short of length on leg, and Mohammed does a lovely job of helping it on its way to the fine leg fence. Just the perfect amount of contact with the pull shot to get it fine for four

W

Rashid to Mohammed, out Caught by Buttler!! Rashid ends the 117-run stand. He hasn't been at his best today, and this isn't a great delivery either. It's on the shorter side, making Mohammed eager to get the cut away. But he fails to get on top of the bounce, which leads to a top-edge to Buttler. Good catch too. Mohammed c Buttler b Rashid 46(71) [4s-4]

D

to Holder, no run, dropped by Morgan. Oh, for a brief while, it looked like he had it. And he actually did have it. But it popped out once he hit the floor. This ball from isn't quite there to be driven, and Holder chips it to the left of short cover after failing to get to the pitch. Morgan flies across with both hands, takes it in a reverse cup but can't hold on. Really good effort

4

Rashid to Holder, FOUR, desperate effort from Bairstow at long-off, but this shot deserved the boundary. Holder, again, using his reach brilliantly to get to the ball and then he splits the field to perfection. There's a silly mid-off, and there's an extra-cover. But he drives it right between them. Beautiful timing

4

Rashid to Lewis, FOUR, too easy for Lewis; he jumps into the 90s. Dropped short by Rashid, and it sits up outside off asking to be hit. Lewis flat-bats it hard between mid-off and extra-cover

4

to Holder, FOUR, the pitch is perfect for batting with sun peeking through the blue skies. Just an extended push from Holder and it races all the way, beating sweeper's dive to his right

4

to Lewis, FOUR, second ODI hundred for Evin Lewis. Jumps high, pumps his fists and stares at the sky in relief. A hug from the skipper and a deafening clap-thundering from the crowd. This is also the first Windies 100 of the series. He gets a gift and a well-deserved one. A short ball on the pads, Lewis swivels into the pull getting it wide of fine man.

4

to Lewis, FOUR, now then. That's a complimentary meal. errs once again. A half-volley on the pads and Lewis sends it to the same region, with less effort and better timing

4

to Holder, FOUR, clears his front leg and gets a piece of the length ball, long levers...one bounce and over the ropes at wide long-on

6

to Lewis, SIX, short ball...in the air...six! Lewis, hurried by the pace, top-edges the pull and it keeps swirling further with the wind. Adil Rashid at fine leg keeps running back and he ends up tripping over the boundary ropes to fetch the ball

6

to Lewis, SIX, slower ball, right in the butcher's zone. Lewis shows no mercy, picks the pace early and marauds it straight down the ground for a maximum

6

Rashid to Lewis, SIX, can't keep bowling to his strengths. On the pads and that's dispatched for a flat six over mid-wicket. Hit the boundary cushions on the full

4

Rashid to Lewis, FOUR. Looks to cut. Gets a thick under edge that runs past Buttler to his left. No chance for third man

6

Ali to Holder, SIX, jumps down the pitch and waltzes Ali for a hit-flush-on-the-rope maximum straight down the ground

6

Ali to Holder, SIX, not quite to the pitch, but swung the willow with all his might. Ten rows back over mid-wicket

6

to Lewis, SIX, short ball and goodbye! Lewis smokes it over mid-wicket, the fielder in the deep is a mere spectator

6

to Holder, SIX, gets to his fifty in style. A typical Holder shot that. Clears the front leg, has a good view of this length ball and bullies it over long-on. He is pumped...

4

Ali to Lewis, FOUR, enough width outside off and Lewis drills it through extra cover. Brute power

6

Ali to Lewis, SIX, highest ODI score for Evin Lewis. A floater in his zone and he nails it with a agricultural slog over mid-wicket

6

Ali to Lewis, SIX, just over long-off. Plunkett was the fielder. Gets underneath a full delivery and bludgeons it, eludes the fielder for a moment

4

Ali to Lewis, FOUR, too wide and Lewis has no second thoughts in putting that away. Clobbers the drive square of sweeper cover

6

Ball to Holder, SIX, there's a six competition going on out there in the middle and at the moment Holder is winning it with those long levers he has. Smotes a full ball into the stands over mid-wicket with an air of nonchalance

6

Ball to Lewis, SIX, nothing changes. Banged half-way down the pitch, Lewis had so much time...he could have had a cuppa. Rocks back and packs ake Ball over mid-wicket. Highest 5th wicket partnership for the Windies in ODI cricket.

4

Ball to Rovman Powell, FOUR, into the legs..."don't bowl there" the coaches tell you. Powell shuffles across and clips backwards of square leg

4

to Holder, FOUR, width on offer. Smart play from Holder. Stays right back inside his crease and slices it wide of backward point

6

to Rovman Powell, SIX, walks way across his off, picks the ball off his legs and sends it soaring over deep square

4

to Rovman Powell, FOUR, dug into the pitch, a slower short ball, Powell pulls and the top-edge flies over the keeper. Good grief!

6

to Rovman Powell, SIX, slower ball...picked up...picked up. Powell had all the time in the world to pick his spot, he rockets the pull into the crowd over deep square

W

to Holder, out Caught by Billings!! Low full toss and Holder mows it straight down the throat of Billings at deep mid-wicket. Holder c Billings b 77(62) [4s-4 6s-4]
