This result opens up the Super Six table further as Ireland's win works in favour of most of the teams who are hoping to catch up. It's all set up for a very exciting next few days. That's it from us for now. Hope you enjoyed the coverage. It's a goodbye from Sagar Chawla and Abhinand Raghavendran.
Coetzer, Scotland captain: We felt that 270 kept us in the game. That was one of the best wickets in the tournament so far. Had to back our batting. There were a couple of crucial moments in the game which didn't go our way.
Porterfield, Ireland captain: Didn't have to say a lot, knew we had to turn up and take two points. Disappointed the other day with the bat against Zimbabwe, to bounce back today was pleasing. Need a couple of things to go our way, and if that's in place, we'll have to turn up come Friday.
Andrew Balbirnie, Player of the Match: We wanted to turn it around as quickly as possible. Quick turnaround has helped. Hasn't been the greatest tournament for me personally, happy to get some runs when it mattered the most. I didn't want to be ambitious at the start, just wanted to settle in and take it along. There's no real game plan. Just be compact and kick off in the back end. I have been batting in the middle order in the last few months. There's a lot cricket to be played before our next game against Afghanistan. We are going to relax, take a couple of days off and then get back.
16:45 Local Time, 14:45 GMT, 20:15 IST: Ireland's WC hopes are still alive, as they claim this must-win encounter by 25 runs. Bit of a scare there at the end with the last-wicket partnership, but they probably had it under control. Boyd Rankin finishes off with a four-fer, completing an incredible turnaround for himself and his team after Kyle Coetzer tore into him in his opening spell. Scotland were off to a strong start at 94/1, before Rankin had the last laugh and castled Coetzer and proceeded to derail Scotland's chase with three wickets in three overs. There were brief spurts of a fightback from the lower-order, but the damage which that middle-order collapse had inflicted proved irreversible.
