to Chris Rogers, leg byes, FOUR, sliding down leg, with the angle from round the wicket taking it further down, it tickles the thigh pad and races away, just needed a touch and Chris Rogers missed the flick

W

to Chris Rogers, out Caught by Cook!! What a way to get your 300th Test wicket. Chris Rogers gets his first duck in Tests. Two moments that the statisticians will salivate on. Superb delivery, angled in on a fuller length and then slightly seamed away, pitched around off, opened up Chris Rogers and the outside edge was safely held by Cook at first slip. Good low catch too. The crowd appreciate 's achievement. Chris Rogers c Cook b 0(3)

4

to Smith, FOUR, nice stroke by Smith. Saw the full one outside off and leant forward to play a square drive, opened the face on the shot to get it wide of point and it raced away to the fence. That should be a confidence-booster for him

W

to Smith, out Caught by Root!! strikes again. Two wickets in the opening over. That is some start. squares Smith up and the outside edge carried to Root at third slip. Smith played at a ball that was well outside off, he shuffled across to defend and that's why he played at a ball that he shouldn't have. It was on a back of a length and the slight seam movement opened Smith up. Root does a double fist pump after taking the catch. Dream beginning for England. Smith c Root b 6(3) [4s-1]

W

Wood to Warner, out Caught by Buttler!! Now Wood strikes. This is insane cricket. It is 10/3 and Australia are in dire straits. This delivery nipped back in sharply off the seam and took the inside edge of Warner as he tried to defend off the back foot. Pace did Warner there, he was late in getting his bat down to defend and that caused the inside snick. Warner too goes for a duck. Even England wouldn't have dreamt of such a start. Warner c Buttler b Wood 0(2)

4

Wood to Clarke, FOUR, so nearly another one. Full outside off, Clarke's feet doesn't move and the drive produces a thick inside edge goes periliously close and wide of the stumps. Buttler was wrong-footed and didn't have a chance

W

to S Marsh, out Caught by Bell!! is on fire and the Ashes seem to be quickly slipping away from Australia's grasp. Full outside off, Marsh went with hard hands at that and the edge carried to Bell at 2nd slip, he pouched it above his head with two hands. All of a sudden the two out-of-form batsmen - Voges and Clarke are in the middle. S Marsh c Bell b 0(4)

4

to Voges, leg byes, FOUR, that was close as well. Not far from the stumps and also looked like a decent shout for lbw, knows Voges from his days together at Notts, the Aussie has a tendency to shuffle across his stumps early on and wanted to work on that. Bowled it full and on the pads, Voges shuffled across and missed the clip to leg, ran off the pads and past the diving Buttler. was interested for an lbw appeal but didn't get support from the others

W

to Voges, out Caught by Stokes!! Unbelievable from Stokes. Brilliant cricket from and England. Pitched up outside off, late away movement draws a loose drive from Voges, the thick outside edge was going fast and behind fifth slip but Stokes went full-length to his right and stuck out his right mitt, it stuck and then begin the celebrations. The England players all surround Stokes. Now and Finn want to catch a replay on the big screen. This is special, special cricket from England. Voges c Stokes b 1(4)

4

Wood to Clarke, FOUR, nice shot. This short delivery was rising around chest-height and Clarke swivelled on the pull and got it over square leg which is vacant. More of the splice of the bat but that will do

W

to Clarke, out Caught by Cook!! Poor from Clarke and gets five. Will confirm whether this is the joint quickest fifer in Tests. Full and well wide of off, Clarke went for a big drive and got an edge, good catch by Cook as he leapt and took it with both hands. The ball was travelling and he clasped it above his head, keeping his eyes on the ball till the last moment. Must say dreadful batting from Clarke though. Clarke c Cook b 10(15) [4s-2]

W

to Nevill, out Bowled!! Seven down now. The sorry tale of the Aussie innings continues. Nevill is half-forward, unsure of his footwork, wanted to come forward but didn't, left a tiny bat-pad gap for the ball to sneak through. Full on off stump, came in slightly to peg the off stump back. Sensational beginning to the game. Nevill b 2(15)

4

to Johnson, FOUR, hard push but wide of the diving fifth slip. Full and Johnson played it down, getting it wide of the left-hand of the slip fielder. There is no third man and a boundary for Johnson and Australia - which will be much appreciated

4

to Johnson, FOUR, streaky but four. On a back of a length and outside off, Johnson punches and gets it through the vacant gully and backward point area. Was in the air but went in the gap. has his hands on his head

W

to Starc, out Caught by Root!! Very poor from Starc too. These Aussies aren't learning at all. Going with hard hands at deliveries that should be left alone. Full outside off, Starc pushes well away from the body and gets a thick edge on the drive, carries to Root at third slip around stomach height. They check for the no-ball but is fine. Starc c Root b 1(8)

W

to Johnson, out Caught by Root!! Another. Nine down. Johnson does the same thing as Starc, back of a length outside off, seamed away, Johnson followed it and it hit the bat splice before safely landing in Root's hands at third slip. He is all smiles and does a double thumbs up to his mates. too sports a big grin on his face. Johnson tried to defend that but the movement and the bounce took the edge. Johnson c Root b 13(25) [4s-2]

4

to Lyon, FOUR, pitched up on off stump, Lyon gets forward and lofts it back over the bowler's head. It is a tease for Broad from mid-off and he can't get there. Nice looking shot from Lyon there as he held the pose after playing that. The key was he was looking to play straight

4

to Lyon, FOUR, full outside off, Lyon throws his bat on the drive and then watches the thick edge fly over the slip cordon. Good that he went hard for it ensured that the edge didn't carry

W

to Lyon, out Caught by Stokes!! Australia rolled over for 60! Anderson claps with a smile on his face. finishes with 8/15. On his home ground. He is walking off with ball in hand, waving it to all parts of TB. Andrew Strauss suited and booted is there as well. Another back of a length delivery outside off, Lyon pushes with hard hands (do I need to say it again?) and the edge carries to Stokes at 6th slip. Easy grab and that is all over for the Aussies in the first innings. leads the side off the field. Lyon c Stokes b 9(20) [4s-2]
