commentary

That's a wrap of our coverage for this game. You can track all the latest developments regarding Chandimal's hearing on our site. Until next time, it's goodbye!

Holder, WI captain: Happy. Played some reasonable cricket in this game, probably not our best. Yesterday was a tough day in the field, weren't as disciplined as we should've been. It's obviously a concern (no-balls). We were better overall, were a lot more behind the line. It's an issue that hasn't gone unheard.

Gabriel, MoM: It's a great feeling. If someone had said to me today that I would've taken 100 Test wickets, I would've called him crazy. I've been preparing well before this series, getting myself fit. I'm okay. As long as I'm getting wickets, aches go away. Well supported by the other bowlers - Kemar, who was unlucky in this Test but kept running in. Anything other than a loss is good.

Chandimal, SL captain: I'm really happy with the way we played. Throughout the five days we played outstanding cricket. We had a chance to win if weather had permitted. Credit to West Indies bowling attack, they have some really good bowlers. In these conditions, it's tough to score runs. Have to improve as a team. We all know Rangana is a legend. But as a tactical move, we played Akila. He bowled well but the pitch didn't help him much. Gabriel bowled really well. He's a really good bowler.

A Test match that included some fantastic performances - Gabriel's sensational 13-wicket haul including an 8-fer in the second innings, Chandimal's brilliant hundred on a tough first-day pitch, the combined efforts of the Lankan bowlers - but is likely to be remembered for the tampering charges levelled at the Lankan skipper, who has appealed against it and will be appearing at a hearing at some point later on. Sri Lanka didn't take the field on the morning of Day 3 in protest, losing a good part of two hours or even more. Isn't that ironical considering how the match has ended. Let's hear from the presentations..

17:44 Local Time, 21:44 GMT, 03:14 IST: So that's it, play has been called off. The second Test ends in a draw. There was another shower which sealed the deal for the umpires.

17:06 Local Time, 21:06 GMT, 02:36 IST: Umpire Aleem Dar is reading something in a book, I wonder what he is reading? Umpires are taking the reading from the lightmeter again. And they are going off the field, another halt in play. Sri Lankans are hesitant to go back, they are literally crawling. Skipper Dinesh Chandimal shakes his head after having a conversation with umpires. Light is only going to get worse from here, so have we seen the final ball of this Test match?

Lakmal to Holder, no run, he has been hit where it really hurts and Holder is down. This must be painful, really painful. He won't be smiling for a long time. Physio is out in the middle, I am not sure how he is going to help Holder with this pain. Holder will have to deal this all by himself.

Umpire Aleem Dar is having a look at the light meter. In fact he is keeping it at the stumps to note the reading. He seems to be fine with the reading. And we will continue.

1
Lakmal to Kraigg Brathwaite, 1 run, in the air but wide of leg-slip for a single

Now, light meter comes in the middle. Umpire Aleem Dar keeps it in the pocket for the time being.

Lahiru Kumara to Holder, no run, no Holder no. You shouldn't be driving away from the body at this stage of the match. It was fuller and outside off and Holder hands went after it like maganet. Went past the outside edge

Lahiru Kumara to Holder, no run, back of a length delivery at the body, goes on the back foot and pushes it back to the bowler

Lakmal to Kraigg Brathwaite, byes, FOUR, misses his radar by a long way. It starts around the leg-stump and keeps going down the leg-side. Dickwella had no chance of collecting and it goes for four byes

16:48 Local Time, 20:48 GMT, 02:18 IST: We are back after the rain break. Windies have to survive 23 overs to save this Test.

16:34 Local Time, 20:34 GMT, 02:04 IST: There's been no rain for the last 30 minutes or so, and we're awaiting an update for the resumption. With every minute lost, Sri Lanka's chances of pulling this off continue to slip. This doesn't seem to be a pitch where you can blow lower-orders away.

15:32 Local Time, 19:32 GMT, 01:02 IST: The uninvited guest, rain is back. Windies will be delighted with this. Not a day in this match on which rain hasn't arrived at the ground. It is belting down, absolutely belting down at the moment. This is the hardest it has rained in this Test match. Wind is blowing swiftly too and groundsmen are struggling to get hold of the covers. We are in for a long delay.

Dananjaya to Kraigg Brathwaite, FOUR, whatta way to get to the landmark. Reaches his 17th Test fifty with a four. This has been a high quality innings under tough circumstance but his job isn't over yet. He still has the job of saving the test match for his side. It was at the pads, uses his feet and lofts it over deep mid-wicket for a four
