4

to Tamim, FOUR, stylish shot! Good length delivery outside off, Tamim reaches for it and cracks it through covers. Even a dive from the fielder inside the ring is not enough to stop that

4

to Tamim, FOUR, still a good wicket to bat on! Flighted delivery on middle and leg, uses his wrists and flicks it through the gap at mid-wicket. Has come out with a positive intent, that's good to see

4

to Tamim, FOUR, the bowler is disappointed with that delivery and he should be. Bowled a poor line, afterall. Fullish and on leg, Tamim does not miss out on the freebie and puts it away with a flick. Along the carpet and into the mid-wicket cushions

6

to Kayes, SIX, yes he does! Waits, waits and decides to dance down. Reaches to the pitch of the delivery and sends it sailing over the bowler's head for half a dozen

4

to Tamim, FOUR, good shot! Plays with the turn and sweeps the flighted delivery through square leg. No fielder in the deep and easy pickings for the aggressive opener

4

Perera to Tamim, FOUR, wasn't timed properly, but had enough. Floated on middle and leg, Tamim walks down the wicket and throws his bat. Comes off the inside half of the willow and flies over the fielder at short mid-wicket

4

Silva to Kayes, FOUR, streaky and four, tossed up wi of off, looking to make Kayes drive, he went with hard hands, gets a thick edge that lobbed behind square on the off-si, a boundary nevertheless

W

Perera to Kayes, out Caught by Chandimal!! Oh dear! Kayes constantly finds himself ways to get dismissed, this is such a soft dismissal. The trap was set for himself and he's fallen right into it. This was tossed up just outside off, Kayes was looking to sweep, can'ty get on top of the bounce and lobs a simple catch to Chandimal at square leg. He walks back disappointed, but can't blamce anyone but himself. Kayes c Chandimal b Perera 19(48) [4s-1 6s-1]

OT

Silva to Tamim, 1 run, a direct hit at the bowler's end and the third umpire will have a look. He's in though, NOT OUT is the call. This was the slir from Silva, bowled with a flatter trajectory, Tamim was lunging forward in fence and gets an insi edge towards short mid-wicket, Mominul called him for a quick single and Tamim seemed to be ambling along. Silva was quick on the ball, turns back and makes a direct hit at the bowler's end, but Tamim was home by then

4

Silva to Mominul, FOUR, lovely shot, Silva gives this one plenty of air, Mominul gets forward, takes it on the full and finds the gap to the left of cover, the outfield takes care of the rest

4

Perera to Tamim, FOUR, that's a poor riposte from , loses his patience and drops this one short and wide of off, Tamim backs away and cracks it square past point, no need to run for those

W

to Tamim, out Caught by Dickwella!! Lovely chinaman and Tamim has been dismissed, that's a huge strike, Tamim was one man who could have reduced the deficit quickly. This was tossed up invitingly outside off, Tamim lunged forward on the defensive push, the ball turned away, caught the outside edge and Dickwella did the rest, moved across to his left and accepted the offering. Easy call for umpire Erasmus, Tamim knew he had edged it, nodded at his partner and kept walking. Tamim c Dickwella b 41(62) [4s-6]

W

to Rahim, out Caught by Kusal Mendis!! Sri Lanka are very confident about a catch at silly mid-off, did the ball go straight off Rahim's boot? The two umpires confer and the third umpire will have a look, the soft signal is NOT OUT. It's a fair ball, there's an inside edge and that seems to have come straight off the boot. Umpire Wilson says it's clearly off the boot, the catch is clean, Wilson is happy with what he has seen, OUT is the call. What an end to the day's play, the extra over has cost Bangladesh dear, their best batsman is walking back to the pavilion. That's stumps on Day 4 and Bangladesh are tottering in Chittagong. Couldn't have the written the script any better for the visitors, this was the arm-ball from , kept coming back with the angle, Rahim was prodding forward in defence, gets a big inside edge that ricochets off his boot, Mendis was close at silly mid-off, he was staying very slow, slides forward, gets his right hand underneath the ball and clasps it cleanly. Replays are crystal clear and Rahim has to make the long walk back to the hut. Rahim c Kusal Mendis b 2(20)

6

to Mominul, SIX, beautiful shot! This biggie, brings up the 200 for Mominul in this Test. It's a loopy delivery on off, the southpaw puts on his dancing shoes and sends it sailing over the bowler's head for a towering six

4

to Liton Das, FOUR, swept away! First boundary of the match for Liton Das. Goes down on his knee and sweeps the flighted delivery through mid-wicket. Was middled to perfection, hence finds the fence quickly

4

to Mominul, FOUR, beats the man in the deep! Mominul shimmes down the track and flicks the loopy delivery through mid-wicket where Lahiru Kumara allows it to go through due to a lazy diving effort

4

to Liton Das, FOUR, desperate effort at the fence, but in vain. Loopy delivery outside off, Das creams his drive through covers. Dilruwan goes for the chase, puts in a dive and manages to get his left hand in order to save it. But the momentum of the ball, takes it away to the ropes

4

to Liton Das, FOUR, rubbish delivery! Not an impressive over, at all. Short, low and well outside off, Liton Das reaches for it and crunches it through point. No fielder in the deep as concedes the second boundary of the over

4

to Liton Das, no ball, FOUR, shortish in length around off, camps back and pulls it away to the deep mid-wicket fence. Another poor delivery by that was

OT

Perera to Mominul, 3 runs, fine batting! Finds the length shortened and rocks back in a jiffy to tuck it through mid-wicket. Won't make the fence but they'll get three. 13th Test fifty for Mominul! Second fifty-plus score of the match, this one coming under pressure and he has responded with aplomb. He certainly loves Chittagong, doesn't he?

4

Perera to Liton Das, FOUR, cracking shot! Tried the reverse sweep last over but hadn't middled it well then. Does so this time and unleashes it through backward point. Top stroke

4

Perera to Mominul, FOUR, just over short fine leg! Uppish but Mominul had it covered. Decided to employ the sweep to this outside the leg stump line. Cleared the fielder eventually with ease

D

to Mominul, no run, was that a chance? Yes, that'll go down as a dropped catch. Floated outside off, Mominul pokes at it and gets a bottom edge. However, Dickwella behind the wickets shows no interest to gather it. Spills it out!

4

to Liton Das, FOUR, freebie on offer and Das puts it away. Brings up his third Test fifty with this boundary. A full toss outside off, gets hold of it and slams it away through covers. No fielder in the deep and it's a fifty for the middle order batsman

6

to Mominul, SIX, downtown! Gets to the pitch of the flighted delivery and picks the bones out it. Times it over the chinaman and gets a maximum. Moves on to 81* with that mighty six

4

to Mominul, FOUR, there's no stopping this man. He's taking on the spinners comfortably. It's a tossed up delivery around off, Mominul goes for it and times his chip over mid-on. One bounce and into the fence

4

to Liton Das, FOUR, misfield, bonus runs! Lahiru Kumara in the deep jammed his knee into the ground as he tried to stop that with a slide. Missed it completely and the ball ran into the fence. It was a tossed up delivery that was swept hard through square leg by the batsman. Nothing going right for the Sri Lankans at the moment. There was a dropped catch earlier in the session and there have been few misfields too

4

to Mominul, FOUR, very thin edge on that! Floated delivery on off, keeps very low and Mominul gets a feather to it. As it's too low to catch, it goes through the keeper's legs and down to the fence. Scratch that, UltraEdge shows no deflection, hence it was a wrong call by the umpire. Should have been called byes, instead

OT

to Mominul, 1 run, to sweeper cover, the partnership between Mominul and Liton Das is now 150 Short and wide outside off, reaches for it and slaps it to sweeper cover

OT

to Mominul, 1 run, first Bangladeshi to score twin centuries! Here's the man! Eases the tossed up delivery to covers and calls for a single. His partner obliges and they complete the single. Gets to the milestone and celebrates in style. Deserves a round of applause, isn't it? 176 in the first innings, 100* in this one. Certainly a contender for the Man of the Match award. Now has the chance to become the first Bangladeshi to score 300 runs in a Test. Can he?

4

Kumara to Liton Das, FOUR, sublime timing! Full length delivery outside off, Das is on his front foot as he creams his drive through covers. Right into the fence and the crowd is absolutely delighted

4

Perera to Liton Das, FOUR, excellent wristwork! Not a bad ball, it was spinning in from just outside off and Liton used his strong bottom hand to play a fine pick up shot. Got it well wide of the long-on fielder who chased to his right but was never going to get there

4

Perera to Liton Das, FOUR, more aggression from Liton! He is starting to express himself now. Takes a couple of steps down the track and unleashes the sweep through square leg. Got to the pitch well, executed the shot beautifully

W

Silva to Mominul, out Caught by Karunaratne!! Finally, the partnership is broken! Relief for the Lankans and they will hope to work on this opening, especially with the second new ball not that far away. A fine innings from Mominul though and takes a good nut to get him. Lovely off break that dipped on him and bounced a tad extra to go with the spin. The edge flected off Dickwella's gloves and Karunaratne at first slip reacted sharply with a dive to his right. Some fortune for the visitors, they badly need it. The umpires want to check for the no ball but Silva is perfectly fine. Can they make this count? Mominul c Karunaratne b Silva 105(174) [4s-5 6s-2]

4

Silva to Liton Das, FOUR, sublime shot! Moves into the 90s with this shot. Nicely tossed up from Silva and Liton uses his reach to get to the pitch, creams the drive through extra cover. Elegant stroke

4

Silva to Mahmudullah, FOUR, more luck for Mahmudullah! It's his birthday and perhaps the cricketing gods are being kind to him. Went for the slog sweep this time on seeing the flight, didn't quite middle it and it was aerial for a while. Just evad the ep mid-wicket fielr who put in a sperate dive. Mahmudullah is unusually nervy out there, just needs to calm himself because Banglash are totally in control here. The last thing they need is him to get out to a poor shot and then a collapse to follow

W

to Liton Das, out Caught by Dilruwan Perera!! Brilliant running catch from Dilruwan! He had a lot of ground to cover trekking backwads from mid-off and had his back to the ball as well to compound matters. None of it troubled him though as he kept his eyes on the ball till the very end and took a fine tumbling catch. What about the shot from Liton though? Poor, poor batting. He had a century for the taking and more importantly, was set to take the team to the draw. That may still happen but this is a waste of a wicket. Charges down the pitch to hoick it over deep mid-wicket but the length isn't there. Mishits it high down the ground and Dilruwan does the rest. Guess the nerves from Mahmudullah got infected on Liton. Liton Das c Dilruwan Perera b 94(182) [4s-11]

OT

Perera to Mosaddek Hossain, no run, a gamble with the review from the Lankans but doesn't work. Mosaddek was on the back foot to this slightly fuller ball and went for the cut. Karunaratne at first slip was very confident about the nick and forced Chandimal into the review. Dickwella wasn't too sure but they all decided to go with Karunaratne's conviction. However, UltraEdge showed a flat line which meant that the on-field call would stay. Review lost

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, beautiful drive! Full and tossed up outside off, Mahmudullah leans forward and creams his drive through covers

4

to Mosaddek Hossain, FOUR, this has been the case with throughout the day. He has bowled at least a couple of looseners in every over of the day. This one is wayward and wide outside off, Mosaddek Hossain reaches for it and slams it through the gap at cover-point

4

Perera to Mahmudullah, FOUR, 300 comes up with that fine shot. Goes back in the crease and square cuts the tossed up delivery through backward point. The lead has crossed the 100-run mark too

W

Hasan to Karunaratne, out Caught by Kayes!! The plan has worked! Brilliant captaincy from Mahmudullah and it's paid dividends instantly. Just decided at the last moment to bring on, just for this and it's worked like a charm. The off break that's slightly flatter and spins from outside off, Karunaratne just wafts at it and gets a thick edge that is taken nicely at first slip by Kayes. It flew off the blade but he had it under control. Bangladesh are pumped, this is a huge wicket because Karunaratne is the kind of batsman who can bat time. Karunaratne c Kayes b Hasan 0(9)

4

Islam to de Silva, FOUR, proactive batting! Good use of the feet and this is drifting onto the pads. Got to the pitch and clipped it with ease through mid-wicket

4

Islam to de Silva, FOUR, hammered away! I guess the intent is clear from de Silva, he's not going to let the bowlers settle. This is a drag down from and it's punished with a disdainful pull over mid-wicket

4

to Kusal Mendis, FOUR, bad ball and gets the treatment. Banged short by and on this pitch, it will sit up nicely due to the slowness of the surface. Mendis swiveled and controlled the pull nicely through mid-wicket

D

to Kusal Mendis, no run, is that a chance? The outside edge and the two slip fielders had a go but it hasn't gone to hand. Yes, it's a drop! Second slip the culprit. This was angling across Mendis who just poked at it without any footwork. The edge flew towards the cordon where the fielder got his left hand to it but didn't stick. is disappointed, it was the ideal setup and the plan nearly worked

4

to de Silva, FOUR, swatted away! de Silva is looking for anything loose and is wasting no time in dispatching them. A fraction short from , the response is a fiery pull through mid-wicket

4

Hasan to de Silva, FOUR, 'catch!' was the call but this is well placed by de Silva. He goes for the slog sweep on seeing the flight and places this very square of the deep mid-wicket fielder

4

Islam o de Silva, FOUR, his is aggressive baing! de Silva isn' concerned abou his being he las over before a break. Jus shimmies down he pich and lofs i sraigh over aijul's head

4

Islam o de Silva, FOUR, does i again! de Silva is down he rack in a flash once more, ges o he pich and lifs i once more sraigh over he bowler's head. Fab suff

4

Islam o de Silva, FOUR, goes aerial once more! his ime i was in he air for a while bu clears mid-off comforably in he end. Used his fee once more and his ime oped o go inside ou over cover. Didn' quie middle i as well as he would have waned, sill go he resul

6

Islam to Kusal Mendis, SIX, cracking shot, a rank long hop from , dragged it way too short, Mendis is all over it as he swivelled back on the pull, has enough to clear the ropes on the full

4

Islam o Kusal Mendis, FOUR, poor line from aijul, oo shor and oo sraigh, Mendis shuffles across and flicks i fine, beas he keeper and rolls away o he fence

4

Islam to de Silva, FOUR, short, wide and four, this is very poor from , de Silva rocks back and cuts it square past point, beats the man getting across to his left from sweeper cover, raises his 3rd Test fifty

4

Islam to Kusal Mendis, FOUR, beautifully played, this was drifted into his pads, Mendis came down the track, got close to the ball, that allowed him to whip against the spin, he does so and finds the gap wide of mid-wicket

4

to de Silva, FOUR, lovely shot, overpitched and just outside off, de Silva leans forward, presents the full face of the bat and drives it past the diving mid-off fielder

4

to de Silva, FOUR, gorgeous, width on offer from and de Silva takes complete toll, leans into the shot and drives it on the up, beats cover to his left and rolls away to the fence

OT

Islam o Kusal Mendis, 4 runs, ha's sloppy from Bangladesh, wih no one backing up, he fielder a cover-poin has a shy a he bowler's end and concedes hree exra runs. Brings up Mendis's half-cenury, his 5h in ess. He pushed i in fron of square on he off-side and se-off for an easy single

4

to de Silva, FOUR, full and wide of off, looking to lure de Silva into the drive, he went with hard hands, ends up slicing it behind square on the off-side for a boundary

4

to de Silva, FOUR, edged and four, the off-cutter from , grips the surface and shapes away late. de Silva watches it all along, takes the bottom hand off, plays with soft hands and the edge rolls away wide of slip

4

to de Silva, FOUR, lovely, too full and on the stumps, de Silva leans forward and punches it back past the non-striker, the timing is sweet and the ball rolls away to the fence in a hurry

4

Hasan to Kusal Mendis, FOUR, tossed up invitingly outside off, Mendis wasn't in full control as he swept, was in the air for a long while, but well wide of Rahim at deep mid-wicket. He can't get t the ball nor stop the boundary either

4

Hasan to Kusal Mendis, FOUR, edged and that will go down as a chance. This was a top top delivery from , flighted just outside off, spun back in a bit and then straightened, opened up Mendis like a can of beans, he had to play at that, the edge is found and it flew to the left of Kayes at slip. He was blinded by the keeper for a fraction of a second, was late in reacting, only manages to get a fingertip as he pushed his left hand across, frsutration for as the ball rolls away to the ropes

4

Islam o Kusal Mendis, FOUR, off he inside edge bu he forune is wih he Lankans a he momen. Anoher boundary for Mendis. he slider from aijul and draws he inside edge as Mendis wen hard on his defensive sroke. Dribbles away down o fine leg

OT

Hasan to Kusal Mendis, 1 run, slow off break, a tad short and Mendis works it towards square leg for an easy single, 150-run stand comes up. These two continue to make merry

OT

Islam o de Silva, no run, No ou his was a beer shou for LBW bu de Silva ws always well down he rack. As hings sood, he was very above he 3-meer guideline and ha saved him in he end. ried o use his fee o flick bu go pinged on he pads. here was no ba involved and he impac was umpire's call. 4

to Kusal Mendis, FOUR, edged and four, produces another edge and watches in dismay as the ball goes right through the slip cordon. Lovely delivery, short of a good length and in that channel outside off, Mendis was playing with hard hands, the edge is found and it splits the two men in the slip cordon

4

to de Silva, FOUR, lovely shot, too full and too straight from , de Silva takes a step down the track, uses his wrists and flicks it in front of square on the on-side, beats mid-on and rolls away to the fence

to Mehidy Hasan, FOUR, lovely, tad too full and just outside off, Mehidy leans forwsard, presents the full face of the bat and punches it back past the bowler, rolls away to the fence after beating the dive at mid-off, brings up Bangladesh's 400

6

to Mehidy Hasan, SIX, that's a slog and he's sent it way into the stands at deep mid-wicket. This was tossed up invitingly outside off, Mehidy went down low and swiped it across the line, safe shot as there was no one in the deep

to Mahmudullah, out Mehidy Hasan Run Out!! 2 runs completed. Appeal for a run-out, Mehidy called for the third run, did his dive save him? Looks like he's short. I can see the bails in the air with the batsman short of his ground. 'That's good', says third umpire, Joel Wilson. OUT is the call. A promising innings has been cut short and Mehidy can't blame anyone but himself. It was his call and it turned out to be a fatal call. This was dropped short and just outside off, Mahmudullah made room and dabbed it past slip. Kumara was the amn who chased it, stopped the ball in front of the ropes and threw it back at the keeper. The return was perfect, Dickwella whipped the bails off with Mehidy well short despite a sprawling dive. Mehidy Hasan run out (Lahiru Kumara/Dickwella) 20(19) [4s-1 6s-1]

Kumara to Mahmudullah, FOUR, nicely controlled stroke! There was width on offer and Mahmudullah just used the pace and bounce on offer from Kumara. Steered it well wide of gully and once it beat that fielder, it was always heading to the fence

4

to Sunzamul Islam, FOUR, terrific shot! Sunzamul has shown that he can bat and has played quite a few pleasing strokes too. This one tops the list though. Floated up wider outside off, he steps out and goes for the lofted stroke over mid-on. Went against the turn but made excellent contact

OT

to Sunzamul Islam, no run, a review lost for the Lankans. This was tossed up nicely, the googly and spun sharply into Sunzamul to ping him on the front pad. The ball bobbled to first slip and the visitors were very confident that there was a slight inside edge. That forced Chandimal to go for the review but there was daylight between bat and ball. The LBW procedure was also checked but clearly missing leg stump

6

Perera to Mahmudullah, SIX, smashed into the stands! Mahmudullah deciding to show some aggression. This was tossed up and he charged down the track to shovel it over deep mid-wicket. Mammoth blow!

OT

to Mahmudullah, 1 run, slower and just outside off, Mahmudullah comes down the track and drives it to the right of cover, the fielder can't stop it cleanly and Mahmudullah strides across for a single, raises his 15th Test fifty as well

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, lovely shot, excellent use of the feet from Mahmudullah, comes down the track, gets close to the ball and then plays an inside out drive past cover, splits the two men at extra-cover and long-off

W

to Sunzamul Islam, out Stumped!! That's an excellent stumping and Sri Lanka start the second session pretty much the same way they started with the first. This was floated down the leg-side from , Sunzamul was looking to flick and missed, the momentum took him further forward and dragged him well outside the crease, Dickwella was quick on the ball and the whips the bails off, with Sunzamul struggling to get back in time. Third umpire Joel Wilson has a couple of looks and he's happy with what he saw, OUT - flashes the big screen. The stubborn partnership comes to an end and Bangladesh lose their 8th wicket. Sunzamul Islam st Dickwella b 24(56) [4s-1]

W

to T Islam, out Bowled!! Third wicket for and this is a lovely piece of bowling, gave this one plenty of air, landed it on the rough outside the left-hander's off-stump, drew Taijul forward into the drive. The ball burst through the rough and snuck through the huge gap between bat and pad, clatters into the top of middle. Classical left-arm bowler's dismissal, ninth wicket down for Bangadesh and Mahmudullah is left stranded at the non-striker's end. T Islam b 1(3)

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, positive batting from Mahmudullah, takes a step down the track, gets close to the ball and then shovels it over mid-wicket for a boundary. That will leave Mustafizur facing one full over from Herath

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, poor ball from , this was the chinaman, but it was way too short and wide of off, Mahmudullah reaches out and slaps it in the gap past cover

6

6

to Mustafizur, SIX, Mustafizur wants to have a piece of fun as well, this was tossed up just outside off, Mustafizur gets a good stride forward and heaves it high and over long-on for a maximum

W

Third wicket for , banged in short and coming back with the angle, Mustafizur was caught in no man's land, tried a ramp at the last moment, the ball hit high on the bat and lobbed straight up. Dickwella runs forward and completes the catch. Mustafizur c Dickwella b 8(21) [6s-1]
