Sri Lanka players are overjoyed at the chance to lay their hands on a trophy as Chandimal fetches it for them, hasn't happened very often lately. Hope they go on to bigger and better things. That's it from us. It's a goodbye from Sagar Chawla (@SagarChawla90), Nikhil Jadhav (@IamNicck) and our scorer Harish.

Chandimal, winning captain: This is the hard work from everyone, especially after losing first two games. After that, guys have put their heart and soul in practice. We got the result we wanted as a unit. We all know Bangladesh are really good especially in their home soil. We never underestimate Bangladesh especially here. We thought this was the opportunity to win the final. Dananjaya came and did very well. It was a tough wicket to bat on. Credit to Upul, he batted really well with Dickwella. Outstanding. We all know Madushanka can bowl really fast. We thought this was a chance to see him and he grabbed his opportunity. Credit to players, coach, selectors, as well as Angelo Mathews. He's the one who brought the team here.

Thisara Perera, MoS: First two games we lost, but came back strongly. Good for us that Kusal Mendis is playing well in last two games. His form is good for Sri Lankan cricket. Credit to batsmen and bowlers. Working with our bowling coach has helped me.

Tharanga, MoM: Saw from the first game it was difficult to score. Thought 230 was enough, that was our plan. We batted according to the wicket. Even set batsmen found it hard to score. Dickwella batted really well to turn the momentum. First 10 overs were crucial. Suranga and Dushmantha bowled really good line and lengths.

Mortaza, losing captain: It was quite a difficult wicket. Bowling was pretty good overall. We lost Shakib, who has been batting at No. 3. Mahmudullah batted really well. One good partnership would have been nice. While the game was going on, we thought anything around 200 would have been perfect. Mahmudullah showed how to bat on this sort of wicket. Fans have been behind us. Hopefully we'll come back strongly. Wish the very best to the Test side.

Danushka Gunathilaka: We thought 220 would be a good score on this wicket and we managed to get that. The ball didn't come properly on the bat and it was hard batting against fast bowlers. Credit goes to their fast bowlers who bowled well with good variations. It's a dream start to his (Shehan Madushanka's) career. He was surprised when the team was announced. We didn't do well in the last six-seven months, so we badly needed this win.

Hat trick on ODI debut:

Taijul Islam
Kagiso Rabada
Wanidu Hasaranga
Shehan Madushanka*

Sri Lanka were very smart in how they went about things today. Batting first, they assessed things quickly and realized that this wasn't a 300-pitch. Tharanga's and Chandimal's graft ensured a total which kept their bowlers in the game. Bangladesh were already handicapped without Shakib, who injured his left hand while fielding, and then their top-order caved early to put tremendous pressure in a home final. It wasn't going to happen from there, despite Mahmudullah's best efforts.

19:38 Local Time, 13:38 GMT, 19:08 IST: That hat-trick was the cherry on the cake of what has been an excellent comeback from Sri Lanka in this tri-nation series. They were given a rude jolt in their first match, losing to Zimbabwe and were then mullered them by Bangladesh by over 150 runs. It warranted a good hard look in the mirror, and this team has responded.

Madushanka to Mahmudullah, out Caught by Tharanga!! It's a hat-trick on debut for Madushanka as Sri Lanka seal this tri-nation series. What a moment for the 22-year old pacer. A skiddy back of length delivery, gets it to hurry onto Mahmudullah's splice, and it spoons straight to mid-off. Mahmudullah c Tharanga b Madushanka 76(92) [4s-6 6s-3]

Madushanka to Mahmudullah, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Chameera to Mustafizur, no run, yorker length delivery at the stumps, dug out
Chameera to Mustafizur, no run, leans back to a full ball and drives to mid-off
Chameera to Mustafizur, no run, leans back to a full pitched ball, tries fishing at it but he doesn't look to have a chance out there. Beaten
Chameera to Mustafizur, no run, beaten on the edge again, this time in defence. The angle across from over the wicket leaves him squared up on the back foot
Chameera to Mustafizur, no run, slashes and misses. Wide length ball outside off, not sure Mustafizur got anywhere in its proximity
Chameera to Mahmudullah, 1 run, short of length delivery outside off, dabbed to third man. He's happy to take the single

Dushmantha Chameera [7.0-1-16-2] is back into the attack

Mustafizur Rahman, left handed bat, comes to the crease

Madushanka to Rubel, out Bowled!! He's bowled him neck and crop. Absolutely shatters off-stump. There is stunned silence at the stadium. Length ball which skids on rapidly, beats Rubel for sheer pace in his defence. Bangladesh effectively nine down. Rubel b Madushanka 0(1)

Madushanka to Rubel, THAT'S OUT!! Bowled!!

Rubel Hossain, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Madushanka to Mortaza, out Caught by Kusal Mendis!! He's hit this full toss straight to mid-wicket. Oh dear. The two umpires are converging but I'm sure the height is fine. Hang on, hang on. Has Madushanka overstepped? This is close, but I'm sure the benefit of doubt will go to the bowler. It does. Mortaza walks off gutted. He was late on the slog, which is why there was on timing on it, nor much power. Mahmudullah running out of partners. Mortaza c Kusal Mendis b Madushanka 5(12)

Madushanka to Mortaza, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Madushanka to Mortaza, no run, hoicks the ball to mid-wicket. No timing
Madushanka to Mahmudullah, 1 run, back of a length delivery on middle and off, dabbed in front of point for a quick single
Madushanka to Mahmudullah, no run, he advances now and is met with a shortened length, making it tremendously difficult for the straight-batted loft over mid-off. Mahmudullah tries but misses
Madushanka to Mahmudullah, FOUR, gets the boundary away, pulling this short of length delivery well in front of square. Huge cheers from the crowd. They still believe in him, and why not
Lakmal to Mahmudullah, 1 run, right into the blockhole at the stumps, Mahmudullah digs it out
Lakmal to Mortaza, 1 run, flicks the full ball to mid-on, and although he's run across diagonally for the single, he makes it in comfortably despite a direct-hit

Lakmal to Mortaza, no run, banged in short, Mortaza hops back and fends it off to point

Lakmal to Mortaza, leg byes, 1 run, good length ball on leg, hits Mortaza on the pad and rolls to fine leg
Lakmal to Mahmudullah, 1 run, drives through the covers for one
Lakmal to Mahmudullah, no run, back of a length delivery just outside off, dabbed to point

Mashrafe Mortaza, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Lakmal to Saifuddin, out Saifuddin Run Out!! What a horrible mix-up. Saifuddin's done the smart thing here to sacrifice himself. He nudged the ball straight to short mid-wicket, was never a run there. But he took a few steps out of the crease initially which set Mahmudullah on his way - to the point of no return. Gunaratne keeps his cool, knows that he could run to the stumps and take them out and does so. Took an ugly bump there as his shoulders clashed into the body of another fielder who was running in, but he seems all right. Saifuddin run out (Gunaratne) 8(29)

Lakmal to Saifuddin, THAT'S OUT!! Run Out!!

Lakmal to Mahmudullah, 1 run, back of a length delivery outside off, dabbed to third man

The longer this partnership grows, the more tense it will be for SL. They're still the favourites at this stage you'd say

Lakmal to Saifuddin, 1 run, low full toss on leg, flicked to fine leg
