D

Henry to Fakhar Zaman, 2 runs, put down. And it really doesn't get any simpler. Zaman swipes his bat on the hack across the line, gets it high on the bat and Munro at square leg reaches out, and fingers it away

4

to Fakhar Zaman, FOUR, pulls again, high on the bat too as he takes it off the front foot. But gets it in front of square, in the vastly vacant area

4

to Fakhar Zaman, FOUR, one short ball too many. This one isn't threatening either. Sits up, asking to be pulled. Obliged. And there's nothing mistimed about this one either, absolutely crunched through square leg

W

Henry to Umar Amin, out Caught by Ross Taylor!! That one slip. And Amin's expansive comeback drive. Well a combination of both. Chases a wide one away from his body, with the feet going nowhere. Gets a fat edge, flying low to Taylor, and his hands are low and always under the ball. Umar Amin c Ross Taylor b Henry 2(4)

4

to Babar Azam, FOUR, on the pads and Azam is quick to pounce up. Hops and nurdles it through square leg. Nothing the men chasing can do when you time it this well

W

Henry to Fakhar Zaman, out Caught by Williamson!! He's on a roll. So all his life lasts for is a couple of overs. Ends with a nothing shot really. He was perhaps waiting on the back foot for the short one, but sees the fuller one outside off and clars his front leg to slice it so damn meekly that it flies only as far as mid-off. Fakhar Zaman c Williamson b Henry 12(17) [4s-2]

4

Henry to Babar Azam, FOUR, all timing. All grace. Gets a friendly half volley on his legs, doesn't look to overdo the muscle on his flick. Very quietly puts it away through mid-wicket

W

Henry to Babar Azam, out Caught by Guptill!! There's the splice. Oh he's set him up just so perfectly. First the wide tease, then the bouncer and now a nagging channel in that corridor of uncertainty. Azam goes after it, hard hands, flirting bat. Gets the obvious outside splice and that's just what second slip is there in the game for. Pakistan, quite keeping with the trend, are typically in trouble. Babar Azam c Guptill b Henry 10(21) [4s-2]

4

Ferguson to Haris Sohail, FOUR, uses all his pace. 141kph on offer and is driven straight down the ground. So very neat, just a punchy stroke

4

Grandhomme to Haris Sohail, FOUR, more of the straight drives. Lovely transfer of weight forward and the hands take over as Grandhomme's slow pace allows him time to settle and time it past the bowler

4

Ferguson to Hafeez, FOUR, 142.5kph. It's disappeared quicker. Hafeez brings the bat on the drive with a full flow, leaning towards the line and caressing it through the covers

W

Ferguson to Hafeez, out Caught by Munro!! All hail pace. It was short, it was wide but it was a 143kph clicker. Hafeez's insticts get him to chase the ball and look to cut it away. Just that the ball gets on much quicker than he'd anticipated and flies off the outside half to cover. And Munro takes this one, off the ground and reverse cupped. Isn't he delighted. Hafeez c Munro b Ferguson 6(20) [4s-1]

W

Grandhomme to Sarfraz, out Caught by Ross Taylor!! An aimless heave. Well this was coming. It always was. There's only so much that Sarfraz could fend and not charge after. So he does it now, to a ball just not full enough. And he doesn't adjust after going down and realizing it either. Swings his bat across the line, gets it merely off the insi half of the bat. The elevation's not there either and mid-wicket makes it look simple with his flying take. Sarfraz c Ross Taylor b Grandhomme 3(8)

4

Ferguson to Haris Sohail, FOUR, this is an absolute gift from Ferguson, full toss on the pads. Haris Sohail is not going to miss out on these, most batsman in the world won't miss out on that ball. He clips it to the leg-side for a boundary

4

Grandhomme to Shadab Khan, FOUR, good timing on that and ball beats the diving mid-on fielr for a boundary. Good length livery aiming at the stumps, Shadab Khan flicks it wi of mid-on and the outfield does the rest

4

to Shadab Khan, FOUR, rare poor delivery from , this was short and slow, Shadab Khan goes on the back foot and pulls it between deep mid-wicket and long-on for a boundary

4

Grandhomme to Shadab Khan, FOUR, Shadab Khan slashes at it and just out of the reach of the flying short third man field, he makes a valiant effort but to no avail, ball goes past him and into the ropes

OT

Grandhomme to Haris Sohail, 2 runs, back-to-back fifties for Haris Sohail! Off-drives a pitched up livery down the ground and long-off had to sprint across to mop it up

4

Grandhomme to Shadab Khan, FOUR, Shadab Khan is enjoying his innings. Walks down and pulls this short ball over mid-wicket. Moves to 46!

4

Henry to Haris Sohail, FOUR, deft and effective! Sohail opens his bat-face at the last moment and guides it fine into the third man fence

4

Henry to Haris Sohail, FOUR, top shot! Driven on the up and the placement is good as well. Doesn't over-hit and relies on timing. A good length delivery and Sohail off-drove that wide of a diving mid-off fielder

4

Ferguson to Shadab Khan, FOUR, fifty for Shadab Khan! His third in ODIs and second this series. Gets there with a deft touch. Width provided outside off and Shadab hopped to glide it past the keeper. Brings up the 100-run stand between the duo as well

W

to Haris Sohail, out Caught by Matt Henry!! For the second time in as many innings, Haris Sohail gets out to . The previous ball was a quicker one and now, he slowed his pace. Sohail came down the track to tonk it over long-on. Doesn't quite middle it as he was a tad early into the slog. Ends up giving a pretty simple catch to Henry at long-on, who cups it calmly. The century partnership has been broken. Haris Sohail c Matt Henry b 63(87) [4s-5]

W

to Shadab Khan, out Caught by Henry Nicholls!! The orthodox spin does the trick. Tossed up wide outside off and Shadab Khan falls into the trap. Puts on the dancing shoes, steps out of the crease and tries to go for the booming drive. All he managed was a fat outside edge that settles into the bucket hands of Nicholls at short third man. End of a fine knock from the 19-year-old. Shadab Khan c Henry Nicholls b 54(77) [4s-5]

6

Grandhomme to Faheem Ashraf, SIX, that's an incredible shot! Smoked it. Length ball wi of off, Ashraf shuffles across and gives a mighty swing. Sails over the ep mid-wicket fielr

4

Henry to Aamer Yamin, FOUR, edged and safe! Yamin saw the width on this back of a length delivery outside off and chased it with a flashy blade. The ball flies away off the toe-end and Latham doesn't even put in a dive

4

Henry to Faheem Ashraf, FOUR, another edge and another four. Full and wide outside off, Ashraf goes for the drive and gets a fat outside edge that rolls away towards third man

6

Henry to Faheem Ashraf, SIX, Ashraf is playing some electrifying shots here. A short-pitched delivery and Ashraf hooks it away superbly over fine leg. The key there was he got into a good position

W

to Faheem Ashraf, out Caught by Southee!! And the danger man departs. Third wicket for as Ashraf tries to send this ball out of Wellington. He got down on one knee and shaped up to slog it over mid-wicket. Went too hard, but all he could get was a top-edge that went miles up in the air. Southee, at mid-wicket, treks back and takes a good catch. Faheem Ashraf c Southee b 23(15) [4s-1 6s-2]

6

to Aamer Yamin, SIX, a six to end the over. A clean hit. gave a bit of air on this delivery. It spun a bit as well, but Yamin didn't give a thought to all those. Knelt down and slog-swept it over deep mid-wicket. A meaty blow! 62 needed off 36 balls

6

Ferguson to Mohammad Nawaz, SIX, in the air, in the gap and she goes all the way. 142.4kph length ball on leg, Nawaz backs away and swings it over mid-wicket. Has enough wings to go all the way

4

Ferguson to Mohammad Nawaz, FOUR, four more! Now, Nawaz decides to go straight and he's timed the straight-drive really well. Stayed leg-side of the ball and drilled this fullish ball beating a diving KW at mid-off

4

Ferguson to Mohammad Nawaz, FOUR, wow! 16 runs from the over, but how good was this from Pakistan's No.10 batsman. Deft! It was a very full ball just outside off and Nawaz brought his bat down at the right moment and with an open face of the bat. Third man is too square to cut it off

4

to Mohammad Nawaz, FOUR, short ball, Nawaz gets inside the line and helps it along its way with a pull over the man at 45

W

Ferguson to Mohammad Nawaz, out Bowled!! That was an angry ball from Ferguson. Look at the pace - 148.9kph! Full and straight, Nawaz clears his front leg and looks to play across the line. He is beaten comprehensively for pace and the ball makes a mess of the sticks behind the batsman. Mohammad Nawaz b Ferguson 23(12) [4s-3 6s-1]

4

to Aamer Yamin, FOUR, goes straight and makes good contact. Full ball at the stumps, Yamin backs away a long way and thumps it over the the non-striker's end. 30 needed, now!

4

to Raees, FOUR, it doesn't matter how they come. You just got to feel for the bowler. Another one right in the blockhole, Raees takes his front leg out of the equation and swings his bat. Gets an excellent inside edge that evades the leg-stump and runs away into the fine leg fence

4

Henry to Aamer Yamin, FOUR, can inside edges win this game for Pakistan? A very full ball and Yamin tries to slog it over mid-wicket. The fat inside edge misses the stumps and the keeper can't do much about it

W

Henry to Raees, out Caught by Lockie Ferguson!! New Zealand win by 15 runs. A slower bouncer around the off-stump line, Raees pulls and gets it off the top-edge. Goes to the right of long-on and Ferguson gobbles it up with ease. Raees c Lockie Ferguson b Henry 5(6) [4s-1]

4

to Munro, FOUR, warms up with a wide floater. Gently. Munro gets his room, throws his hands out and spanks it through the covers

4

to Munro, FOUR, and more. More width, more swing away, more on the fuller side. A huge stride forward and sliced up, over the infield and into the sweeper fence

4

Yamin to Munro, FOUR, on the charge. Not quite to the pitch of the ball, but why do you need to when you have hands as quick as these. Hoicks, across the line and despite the meat not being found, there's enough on it to run away in front of square in the gap

4

Yamin to Munro, FOUR, 128.5kph, now a desperate drag down. Add an ample dose of room to it too. Up tall, riding the bounce and slapping it hard. Sweeper now

6

Yamin to Guptill, SIX, oh this is a show. And Guptill's a showman. Gets a juicy overcook and with only a half punch, he has had enough on it to tonk it into the sightscreen straight down

4

to Munro, FOUR, on another drive, gets the edge, and there's no second slip. Oh dear..the troubles of getting too defensive too early

4

to Munro, FOUR, another miscue, frees his hands to carve it in the air. Flies just wide of a diving point. Can't do much when it's Munro's day

4

Yamin to Guptill, FOUR, he's on a carnage. Another overpitched delivery and Guptill gets to the pitch with his stride, absolutely hammering it straight down

4

to Munro, FOUR, dragged down. Sitting up and Munro goes on the pull, heaving it away behind square. He's taken the Kiwis to 50 in a hurry

W

to Munro, out Caught by Mohammad Nawaz!! A hoick too many. He's looked so good, he's looked so effective and he falls to sheer greed. It was an away-swinger from , not all that full either. Munro doesn't bother, looks to smoke it straight down into the sightscreen and miscues it high up. Mid-on back-pedals, settles, keeps back-pedalling and takes it reversed-cupped. Munro c Mohammad Nawaz b 34(24) [4s-7]

4

Nawaz to Williamson, leg byes, FOUR, sprays it on the pads, hoping for it to spin back. Doesn't. Williamson gets a tickle off his thigh pad, and there's nothing the keeper can do

4

Nawaz to Guptill, FOUR, gets the gap. An absolute drag down, perhaps anticipating Guptill to come down the track. Instead he rocks back, makes the length look worse and flat-bats it through mid-wicket

4

Yamin to Guptill, FOUR, room, especially with third man up..something doesn't feel right. Guptill hangs back, carving it to find his gap behind point to perfection

W

Yamin to Williamson, out Caught by Umar Amin!! This is a reckless shot from Williamson, we are not use to seeing this from him. Short of length ball and Williamson hits it straight into the hands of the fielder at square leg, who didn't move an inch and takes a sitter. Williamson c Umar Amin b Yamin 22(36)

4

Amin to Guptill, FOUR, fine-leg inside the circle and Guptill nicely turns it to the left of the fielder there for a boundary. Brilliant timing and placement

OT

Khan to Guptill, 3 runs, squirts it to third man for three and brings up his 34th fifty, the pitch looks flat and he will want to convert it into a ton

4

Nawaz to Guptill, FOUR, Guptill brings out the sweep and ball beats the fielder at the short fine-leg for a boundary. Much required one for NZ as spinners have put a lid to the scoring rate

4

Nawaz to Guptill, FOUR, Guptill knew where the gap was and he hits it in the backward square leg for a boundary. Brings out the sweep shot again, tad uppsish but no trouble and ball races for a boundary

OT

Ashraf to Guptill, no run, comedy of errors there, how on earth Ashraf misses that? He was just a couple of meters away from the stumps. Good length ball and Guptill taps with soft hands and takes off for a single, he slips and falls on the ground but Ashraf fails to make amends as he misses the stumps

4

Ashraf to Guptill, FOUR, back of a length on the stumps, Guptill slaps it between extra cover and long-off and ball races along the carpet for a boundary

4

Ashraf to Guptill, FOUR, Guptill backs away and hoicks it wide of mid-off fielder for a boundary, tremendous shot.

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, cheeky and effective. A length ball and Taylor moves across to lap it away over short fine leg. Excellent placement. Got it off the middle of the bat

4

to Ross Taylor, FOUR, the batsmen are shifting gears. Didn't quite get it off the middle, but finds the gap does Ross. A shortish ball, Taylor swivels and pulls it wide of the man at short fine leg

4

Yamin to Ross Taylor, FOUR, cut and cut hard. Short and wide asking to be punished. Taylor is quick too rock back and then scyhtes it away backward of point. Not a single muscle moved after the ball made contact with the bat

4

Yamin to Guptill, FOUR, that's been spanked! Slower short ball that sits up nicely for Guptill. He picked it early, came forward and powerfully pulled it through mid-wicket

4

Yamin to Guptill, FOUR, four more and Guptill moves into the 90s. Brings up the 100-run stand between the duo as well. A gift from Yamin and Guptill accepted it gleefully. Hammers a full toss outside off through extra cover and the ball bulleted away

OT

Nawaz to Guptill, 2 runs, there's the ton for Guptill! Pulls a shortish ball between long-on and deep mid-wicket for a couple, removes the helmet and raies his bat. His teammates are chuffed in the dressing room

W

to Guptill, out Caught by Hafeez!! 100 and out! Decides to go big and perishes. End of a good knock. A fuller length ball outside off from and Guptill decided to thump it over the fielder at long-on. Goes too hard and loses his shape a tad. The bat turned at the point of impact and ended up mishitting it off the to-end straight to Hafeez at long-on. Guptill c Hafeez b 100(126) [4s-10 6s-1]

OT

to Ross Taylor, 2 runs, 41st ODI fifty for Ross Taylor! Most 50+ scores by a New Zealand player. Late-dabs a short of length delivery wide of off behind backward point

W

Ashraf to Ross Taylor, out Bowled!! You miss I hit. Taylor had to try something to break the shackles and in the process loses his stumps. It was full, straight aiming the stumps and Taylor moves across to play the paddle sweep. Misses it completely and the ball crashes into the stumps. Ross Taylor b Ashraf 59(73) [4s-3]

4

Ashraf to de Grandhomme, FOUR, first boundary for de Grandhomme. He backed away and Ashraf followed him with a full toss on the pads at 140kph. Flicked away easily behind square leg. Finds the gap and collects four

W

to Henry Nicholls, out Caught by Fakhar Zaman!! This is a turning out to be a good period for Pakistan. Three wickets in five overs. It was struck well by Henry Nicholls, but unfortunately didn't get the required elevation. It was a length ball outside off and swung his bat hard to hack it over mid-wicket. Fakhar Zaman, in the deep, ran to his right and took a sharp catch. That was a flat hit. Henry Nicholls c Fakhar Zaman b 1(3)

W

Ashraf to Latham, out Caught by Sarfraz!! An appeal for caught-behind and the umpire is unmoved. Sarfraz decide to go up. Fair delivery. There is a little mark on the HotSpot. The decision has been reversed. Good review from Pakistan. Latham was looking to ramp it over short fine leg, but the line was well outside off. Fuller in length and by the time Latham tried to change his shot - to guide past the keeper - the outside nick was found. Easy catch for Sarfraz. Latham c Sarfraz b Ashraf 2(5)

W

Ashraf to Santner, out Santner Run Out!! 1 run completed. New Zealand are losing their way here. It was a short ball outside off and Santner miscued the pull to the right of mid-wicket. de Grandhomme called for the second and Santner responded. The throw is flat and just over the stumps from Nawaz (from wide long-on) and even Santner's dive cant' save him. Santner run out (Mohammad Nawaz/Sarfraz) 1(1)

4

to de Grandhomme, FOUR, he's a powerful man! de Grandhomme hits the ball very hard. tries a yorker and ends up bowling a half-volley. Colin stands tall and bludgeons it over the bowler's head

D

Ashraf to de Grandhomme, 1 run, he has saved three runs there did Ashraf. A half-volley and de Grandhomme smahed it down the ground, and a brave bowler goes for a low catch in his followthrough. I won't call that as a drop! Hits the palm and he is in pain. We all know, how hard Colin hits the ball. The physio is out now. Has a drink and looks like it was the non-bolwing palm that took the major brunt. Looks fine to resume. Well, he gets an applause from the crowd as well

4

Ashraf to Southee, FOUR, low full toss, Southee moves leg-side and swings his bat. Played across the line and went over mid-wicket. One bounce and into the fence

D

Yamin to Southee, 2 runs, superb effort, but Umar Amin couldn't hold onto the ball. A full toss and Southee flicked it over mid-wicket. Amin, at deep mid-wicket, ran across and flew to his left. Didn't stick. Saved two there
