First, a floodlight failure. Then an implosion from Pakistan with the bat. And eventually, a volcanic eruption from Australia. Well, the 'hosts' are certainly the number 1 team in T20Is but the number 3 ranked team before the start of the match certainly did not play like one in the top 3. After receiving an absolute hammering in the first T20I, Australia will be crestfallen but the good thing is that they have yet another opportunity, that too in a quick time, to turn it around. As Aaron Finch mentioned, they still are an inexperienced bunch and need time to gel together as a team. Also, the Aussie skipper expressed disappointment over the choice of shots his batsmen opted for and knowing your fault is half the battle won. Now, it's up to the team management and support staff to lift the confidence of the unit. The upcoming games will truly test their character and mental strength. Not everything was bad for Australia in the last match. Their bowling stood tall to restrict Pakistan's charge and it was a great effort by their pace bowlers. However, their spinners will have to step up and start contributing more in terms of wickets. For the virtual hosts, it was an emphatic win. Such victories really put you on cloud nine. Pakistan, though, are renowned for their inconsistency and which team will turn up in Dubai, only God knows. Admittedly there were issues with their batting as they collapsed after a strong partnership between Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez. This is one area Sarfraz Ahmed mentioned in his interview and he also advised his big hitters to spend some time in the middle before exploding. On the bowling front, everything was rosy for the Asian team and the return of Imad Wasim has certainly bolstered their already strong attack. With the Kangaroos seeking revenge and the Number One T20I team eyeing an assailable lead, expect a cracking contest.
