to Munro, SIX, that's Colin Munro for you! Down the track first ball, heaving it away well into the mid-wicket stands. Doesn't matter that pulled his length back and cut the pace off, he goes sailing away

W

to Guptill, out Bowled!! This is superb deception. It's the knuckle ball again, wobbling discomfortingly through the air and swinging away to hit the top of off. Guptill was trying to heave through mid-wicket, but he's just swinging in vain. Doesn't get close. Guptill b 1(3)

W

to Munro, out Caught by Rohit!! This is spectacular from Rohit Sharma; or at least the final bit of the catch is. He may have misjudged it initially, and resultantly had to dive backwards. But he still holds on. Amazing recovery! The length from unraveling Munro's charge as he could only splice it up over mid-on. Superb start for India. Munro c Rohit b 7(6) [6s-1]

4

to Glenn Phillips, FOUR, he's got hold of one, and has split long-on and deep mid-wicket. One bounce and over. got a bit too straight and Phillips's swipe connected

4

to Glenn Phillips, FOUR, now this is a cruel result for . He's thrown the slower ball well wide, and Phillips doesn't find the meat of his bat as he reaches out. But he does find the edge. And that edge spoons between Dhoni and short third

W

Yadav to Williamson, out Williamson Run Out!! You should have seen Pandya throw the ball from mid-on there, defying the concept of time. Williamson shimmied out to a flatter delivery and sort of dragged it to Pandya, and ran. Only to be welcomed by a direct-hit at the other end. India nibbling this away from New Zealand, over by over. Williamson run out (Hardik Pandya) 8(10)

W

Yadav to Glenn Phillips, out Caught by Dhawan!! Now he's fetching this from outside off. Premedidated, so he's been hoodwinked by the wrong'un here. Drags it down to deep mid-wicket, where Dhawan takes it deep, reverse-cupped. Glenn Phillips c Dhawan b Yadav 11(9) [4s-2]

6

Yadav to de Grandhomme, SIX, that's a bottom-handed statement. Gets a full and slow delivery from Yadav and he latches onto it, catapulting it over long-on. 32 needed off 3 overs

W

to Henry Nicholls, out Caught by Shreyas Iyer!! That looks like a set-up. Starts from over the wicket to the left-hander, with a slow full ball down leg. And what has Henry Nicholls done: found fine leg with his paddle-scoop. Good catch from Iyer, too, and India baking New Zealand here with their bowling. Henry Nicholls c Shreyas Iyer b 2(4)

4

to Tom Bruce, FOUR, now this is a yorker length delivery gone wrong. 139ks but overbaked into a full toss, that Tom Bruce nonchalantly clips it through fine leg. Placed it squarer of the fielder in the deep

W

to Tom Bruce, byes, no run, out Tom Bruce Run Out!! 1 run completed. Helter-skelter. And it's not the song by the Beatles either. Misses a fuller delivery outside off, trying to reverse sweep it, and takes the bye. And look, Dhoni has looped it to who's nearly midpitch. And he misses a hit at the bowler's end gee! And Pandya swoops in from mid-on, throwing the ball to Dhoni who finds the batsman short. Third umpire beckoned and he's found to be well short. Drama. Tom Bruce run out (H Pandya/Dhoni) 4(2) [4s-1]

D

Pandya to de Grandhomme, no run, that's not a dropped catch. Technically is but that was hit back with brute force. Full ball slapped back towards Pandya's left. Stops it one-handed and he's down. Pandya's in pain and the physio rushes out

6

Pandya to de Grandhomme, SIX, that's been shown the door to the moon. A length ball at 129ks, Pandya had done his all to take the pace off but it sits up and encounters de Grandhomme's bat fury. Over deep mid-wicket!

4

to Dhawan, FOUR, this time to the left of Sodhi! Again, Dhawan hasn't quite middled this as he skips down the track for a lofted drive over cover. Slices it high towards third man and this time squarer to the fielder there who puts in a dive, in vain

4

to Rohit, FOUR, another mistimed stroke but intentional! Rohit stays on the back foot and makes full use of this shorter delivery. Doesn't middle the lofted stroke but clears mid-on easily. A valiant chase by the fielder but cannot get to it

W

to Dhawan, out Caught by Santner!! Dhawan falls! Something had to give and the southpaw departs in an attempt to up the ante. Charges down the track to go big over cover but the length isn't quite there for it. Ends up skewing it high in the air towards the off-side and Santner treks back to judge it well. Calmly taken and NZ have struck early. A slower ball maybe from ? Yes, replays show it was. Dhawan c Santner b 6(6) [4s-1]

W

to Rohit, out Caught by Santner!! 2 in 2 for ! It is Santner again in the action and this time, it is an even better catch tumbling forward at fine leg. The slower bouncer and Rohit is unable to control the pull stroke. Ends up finding Santner in the deep and the Indian innings has hit a road block. On a hat-trick, now ! Rohit c Santner b 8(9) [4s-1]

4

Sodhi to Kohli, FOUR, bang! The half-tracker from Sodhi to start and Kohli doesn't need any second invitation. Rocks back and pulls it away with ease, splitting deep mid-wicket and long-on to perfection

6

Sodhi to Kohli, SIX, what a shot! The stadium erupts as the Indian captain gets his first biggie of the night. Charges down a couple of steps and although the length isn't that full, he goes through with the lofted stroke. Easily clears long-on with the timing

W

Sodhi to Kohli, out Caught by Boult!! Big strike from Sodhi! The Green Field crowd are stunned to silence as Kohli has to go. Tries to pull this one over mid-wicket but the length isn't that short. Ends up skewing it to deep mid-wicket where Boult takes an easy catch. The Kiwis are all over the Indians at the moment. Kohli c Boult b Sodhi 13(6) [4s-1 6s-1]

4

to M Pandey, FOUR, off-cutter, Manish Pandey was ready for it. Made room early and smacked the drive, more off the bottom half but effective nonetheless. Through covers...

6

Sodhi to M Pandey, SIX, he's done that a lot of times for KOL. Lovely loop, spotted all of it did Man Pandey and went bam! Leaving long-on helpless

W

Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer, out Caught by Guptill!! Shimmies down, nowhere near the pitch of the ball, still goes through with the loft which's intended more towards long-on/mid-wicket. Mistimes high into the air off the toe-end and holes out to long-off. Shreyas Iyer c Guptill b Sodhi 6(6)

6

to Hardik Pandya, SIX. Goodbye. Goodnight. Never bowl full to Hardik Pandya. Never. When it's full it disappears. Into the mars. Pandya just likes it there

W

to M Pandey, out Caught by de Grandhomme!! Santner should be in circus today. Gee! What athleticism. What agility. That's one of the best catches you will ever see. And how did that happen? Pandey cleared his front leg and went for the heave-ho. For a fleeting moment, it appeared as if it's gonna clear the ropes. But Santner - running to his right from long-on - jumped into the frame and threw himself grabbing the ball air-borne and flicking it to de Grandhomme - who's running from deep mid-wicket. All in the blink of an eye. Absolute.Magic.That. M Pandey c de Grandhomme b 17(11) [4s-1 6s-1]
