Two heartbreaking defeats in a row for MUM, but that's how it goes. They should be proud of making a match of it, and even more proud of their 20-year old leg-spinner who's proving to be a real find. So that's it from us here. This is Sagar Chawla signing off on behalf of Akshay Maanay, Pradeep Krishnamurthy, Abhinand Raghavendran, Rishi Roy and our scorer Naga. Good night!

Rashid Khan, MoM: "Dot balls is crucial in such a short format. That was the plan to bowl as many dot balls as possible. That was the message from the management to go and enjoy yourself, that's what I did. I just try my best to bowl in good length area and mix it up for the batsman. As he's in his stance, I can see where he's trying to hit. Love to bowl both, the leg-spinner and the googly. People back home love the fact that Afghanistan players are playing here. We want to see their smiling faces, because what's happening there is not so good. That's what all of us are striving for. Want to dedicate this win to my friend whose son is in the hospital. Everything will go to him."

Williamson, HYD captain: "One of those games that comes down to the wire. The surface was a bit different than the last one, and we were slow to adapt. Hooda at the end was outstanding. He (Rashid Khan) seems to just turn up and is so world-class in how he operates. He's a great weapon for us. We have a number of very talented local bowlers. Sandeep bowled very nicely tonight. We fought back well after the powerplay. At the halfway stage, I thought it was going to be scrappy because the wicket was slowing up. The last ball can go either way so it was nice to win. It's important we adapt well, learn from some things from this game."

Mayank Markande (purple cap): "It was a great feeling for me, my first season, feeling very happy. He (Rohit) didn't tell me a lot, just asked me to stick to the basics."

Dhawan (orange cap): "It feels good. I get it (orange cap) for the first time in 10 years. Very happy about it. He (Mayank Markande) is very good. Look forward to playing against him. Very impressive bowling performance."

Rohit Sharma, MUM captain: "Still early days. It was a good game. I'm sure everyone enjoyed it. Being on the receiving end for the second time is tough to digest. It wasn't a good enough total, and our batsmen should have done better, but the bowlers showed a lot of character to get us back into the game. We have a great squad, and for the youngsters to come out and perform, it's amazing. They have a long way to go. Tough luck, we fought till the end, but to lose isn't a great feeling."

23:49 Local Time, 18:19 GMT, 23:49 IST: This is just bonkers. The crowd are celebrating madly as HYD clinch an absolute thriller by one wicket. A sporting smile from Rohit as he saw Stanlake's loft clear the infield, even as the HYD players came bolting to the centre in jubilation. How in the world did this match finish the way it did? The Hyderabad should've had it stamped and delivered after the opening partnership. But it was 20-year old Mayank Markande again, inspiring Mumbai to a comeback of great proportions with a four-wicket spell. Such a pity that, like the Chennai game, he has to finish on the losing side again. Even after his spell though, Hooda and Pathan seemed to have it in control. But Bumrah came alive in the pre-penultimate over, redeeming himself from the previous game and opened it up again. With 11 needed off the final over, a six off the first ball by Hooda made the equation simpler for the hosts, and then Stanlake played his part too to get them over the line. So it's the second straight win for HYD to start the tournament.

Cutting to Stanlake, FOUR, Billy Billy Billy... oh my days! He has lofted this slower ball over mid-wicket to seal it for HYD. What a shot to play. The fact that HYD couldn't have lost would have helped, but what a hero

Twitter Musings #28, last one today: "I want a super over now, so that I can chew my nails to the skin!" tweets Bharat Gunhalkar (@Iambharat82) - Okay, the thought of that gives me the creeps

Everyone is in to save the single. Ishan Kishan has only one glove on, if he's needed to throw the ball

Cutting to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, top-edged pull, loops up towards Bumrah at short fine leg, but falls short. HYD can't lose now. Cutting drops to his haunches as he watches Bumrah fail to get to the ball. Massive roar from the crowd

Another chat between the skipper and bowler. This time both fine leg and third man are up. Cutting will come from round the wicket for Hooda. Pensive faces everywhere. Pathan is staring into nothingness, pondering over his shot. Doesn't matter now. Here we go. Two needed from two

Cutting to Stanlake, 1 run, slower ball on leg, Stanlake does just about the best thing he could do. He nudges it softly in front of short mid-wicket and runs for his life. Gets a big cheer from the crowd

Long chat between Rohit and Cutting. Field-placement, the delivery he's going to bowl, everything. Gee what drama. Okay, so fine leg is back and mid-off is up.

Twitter Musings #27: "Why don't you go with your Frontline bowler if you picked him." tweets Shashank (@shashanks676) - You said it Shashank: Because you need a death bowler, not a frontline one...

Cutting to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, overpitched ball outside off, drilled down towards long-off where Pollard swiftly moves to his right and is even more swift in getting rid of the throw. It now leaves the No. 11 exposed
Cutting to Deepak Hooda, no run, gets it spot on this time. A wide back of length delivery outside off, Hooda slashes at it but misses out
Cutting to Deepak Hooda, wide, now a wide. Cutting buckling under pressure. The idea is to bowl wide of off, but he's lost the angle from round the wicket and gone way too wide
Cutting to Deepak Hooda, SIX, he has clubbed this for six! What a start to the over. Low full toss wide of off from round the wicket, Hooda shuffles across a bit, bends his back knee and frees his arms. Muscles it over long-off

Ben Cutting [3.0-0-26-0] is back into the attack

Billy Stanlake, left handed bat, comes to the crease

In a brainfade, it looks like Sandeep and Hooda crossed before the catch was taken. We'll have confirmation in a bit. No they haven't. Hooda is on strike against Cutting, HYD need 11 off the final one that will be bowled by Cutting

Mustafizur to Sandeep Sharma, out Caught by Krunal Pandya!! Sandeep does in fact look for the boundary. He walks across, bends his back knee and tries for the same scoop that Kedar Jadhav hit for six a few nights back against Mustafizur. But what Sandeep achieves is very different. He doesn't get it anywhere near the middle, and spoons it up to short fine leg. Mustafizur raises his arms as the MUM fans go wild. Sandeep Sharma c Krunal Pandya b Mustafizur 0(2)

Mustafizur to Sandeep Sharma, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Mustafizur to Sandeep Sharma, no run, what an over from Mustafizur it has been. He employs the wide line again, cuts his fingers across the ball and beats Sandeep's dab. No what does he do? They surely can't take a single. So does he go for the boundary?

Sandeep Sharma, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Mustafizur to S Kaul, out Caught&Bowled!! Taken one-handed. The Mumbai supporters in the crowd erupt. Kaul was probably surprised by the line from Mustafizur here - it was full at the stumps after the previous two which were wide of him. He chips the off-cutter straight back, where Mustafizur sticks a hand out and the ball sticks. This will be some comeback from MUM if they pull it off. S Kaul c and b Mustafizur 0(4)

Mustafizur to S Kaul, THAT'S OUT!! Caught&Bowled!!

Mustafizur to S Kaul, no run, full off-cutter wide of off, Kaul swings his hands into a drive but it's out of his reach. Remember Vijay Shankar in the Nidahas final? This isn't an easy line

Hooda comes down to have a word

Mustafizur to S Kaul, no run, huge roar from the crowd anticipating a caught-behind, but Kaul has missed this by quite a bit. He's flat-footed on the crease as this off-cutter grips sharply and beats his dab
Mustafizur to Deepak Hooda, 1 run, length ball outside off, off-cutter, Hooda chops it through the covers - no timing

Mustafizur Rahman [3.0-0-23-1] is back into the attack

Hooda becomes such a key now, with HYD needing 12 from 12. Three wickets remaining. Tension everywhere.

Bumrah to S Kaul, no run, full ball at the stumps, Kaul keeps it out

Siddarth Kaul, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Twitter Musings #26: "Rohit should go for the gamble. 2 Righty batsmen, why doesn't he try Krunal?" tweets Nitin (@nitin_quiry) - I think Bumrah is doing a fair job. On a hat-trick.

Now a slip in place too. Crowd is buzzing as Bumrah runs in

Bumrah to Rashid Khan, out Caught by Ishan Kishan!! Oh my, what do we have here! Bumrah has ripped the game open once more with two in two. Pacy full ball outside off, the punchy fellow that Rashid is, he goes for an ambitious cover drive but can only nick it to the keeper. Hat-trick ball coming up. Rashid Khan c Ishan Kishan b Bumrah 0(1)

Bumrah to Rashid Khan, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Rashid Khan, right handed bat, comes to the crease

Bumrah to Y Pathan, out Caught by Pollard!! HYD are close, but this is still not over. Bumrah rushes Pathan with this short of length delivery which hurries onto his attempted pull shot. He was caught on the swivel as it spooned up off the splice, before nestling into the bucket hands of Pollard at mid-wicket. Y Pathan c Pollard b Bumrah 14(14) [4s-2]
