CHN has made it a habit of taking the matches to the final overs, their bowlers in the end almost ensured a final ball finish again. But there were too many runs in the bag, courtesy the power-hitting of MS Dhoni who is striking the ball as well as he has ever done in his life. So, CHN are back at the top of the points table because of a superior net-run rate. Hope you would have enjoyed our coverage, this is Varun Dixit signing off on the behalf of Kumar Abhisekh, Sriram, Hariprasad, Ramakrishnan and our scorer Vinod. Don't forget to join us for the BLR vs MUM encounter tomorrow, it promises to be a thriller.

Shane Watson, Man Of The Match - "I wanted to help the team in the previous games but to be able to play this innings against DEL is a good confidence builder. I was targeting the short side of the ground and wind was also blowing in that direction. It was good to get a few out of the middle. Trent Boult is a world class bowler and MS hit him really well. He is hitting the ball incredibly, as well as he has ever hit".

MS Dhoni (2/2): "Looking at the wicket we thought we needed an overseas batsman. I think Sam needed a bit of a rest. With Faf opening and Rayudu in the middle, it gives more stability to the middle order and the batting order looks stronger. Rayudu can bat anywhere in the order and he is keen to take any responsibility for the team. We wanted fast bowlers to come in. Shardul has not come good. So, we thought a gap of a few games will help him. Lungi coming in and doing good for us was important because we thought we needed pace on this wicket. He has impressed me right from South Africa. If he keeps coming good it will be good for us. We have to keep in mind the eliminators and the finals if we make it. Those would be played on the small grounds. The margin of error at this level is not much. Whatever is not working, one has to get a marker and work on it. Overall, we are a happy side and the mood is good. But it helps if you are winning and learning. Bowlers have to adapt otherwise we will have to look at other options."

MS Dhoni: (1/2) "Back is bad but nothing much can be done. Because there is no rest period in the middle. I have not been training much because of it. There is a bit of pain but I think I will manage. It is very important for us to get a good platform and then I can promote myself up the order. It is important for us to get off to a good start and not always in terms of runs but get a good partnership. Then I can promote myself to 4 or 5 and then I have an extra batsman behind me. So, I take the risk when needed. If you bat too down the order, you don't know when to go after the bowlers. It is more fun when you go in at the 8th or the 10th over, when the bowler does not know when you are going to go for it and keep him guessing."

Shreyas Iyer: "Too many runs on the board. I would like to complain about the first ball wicket (smiles). It did not go our way and that could have made a massive impact in the match. The way Watson started it totally changed the game. Not only me, the whole dressing room and obviously you also think the same - that ball hit the pad first and then the bat (laughs). We got really close and it is a positive going into the next match. We need to win 6 in the remaining 6 matches and that is the only motivation going forward. We need to point out the mistakes we have done and we will try to bounce back strong. We will be having a meeting with management regarding the team changes. If we try to keep the team stable, we will do well in the upcoming matches."

Lungi Ngidi: Very exciting moment. Very lovely to be out there. In pressure situations, you find out how good you are. Definitely, your margin for error is very small. Too full and it is six. Too short and it goes for six as well. At the end when the nerves get up, it is good to play under MS. Cool and calm.

CHN are home by 13 runs, but MS Dhoni wasn't happy with the way the runs were leaked at the death overs. Definitely a case of boosting the net run rate with a bigger margin of win. Anyway, they have got those two crucial points. Rishabh Pant played a great hand, fought a lone battle after running his skipper - Shreyas Iyer - out. Vijay Shankar stepped up the gas, but he had too much to do in the end. Threatened CHN with a hat-trick of sixes in the penultimate over, but Dhoni knew the game was in control and it was just a matter of not panicking.

Lungi Ngidi to Vijay Shankar, 1 run, yorker to finish the game and it's been flicked to deep mid-wicket. CHN back on top of the table after the loss against MUM
Lungi Ngidi to Rahul Tewatia, 1 run, wide yorker and Tewatia squeezes it out to cover
Lungi Ngidi to Vijay Shankar, 1 run, he's inside-edged this into the on-side and a massive roar from the crowd supporting CHN. Two legitimate balls will get them home now. Full delivery on the stumps, Shankar tried to go inside-out over cover on that occasion

Bravo runs from cover to Lungi Ngidi to have a chat. Long-on, deep mid-wicket, deep backward square leg in place

Lungi Ngidi to Vijay Shankar, 2 runs, chipped in the air, not enough power but he races back for two. Short of a length delivery following the batsman as he backed away, Shankar wanted to hit the ball over the cover boundary, but mistimed it

19 needed from 4

Lungi Ngidi to Vijay Shankar, wide, pressure getting to the bowler? Sprayed down the leg-side, big test for Lungi Ngidi
Lungi Ngidi to Vijay Shankar, SIX, now then, now then! He isn't done yet! Raises the fifty and DEL can mathematically still do this. 20 needed from 4 balls. Backs away to this shortish ball and pulls over mid-wicket
Lungi Ngidi to Rahul Tewatia, 1 run, short of length delivery from Lungi Ngidi, Tewatia slaps it to mid-off
Lungi Ngidi to Rahul Tewatia, wide, oh that's well outside off stump, left alone, called a wide

28 needed 6 balls

Dwayne Bravo to Vijay Shankar, SIX, and another one, clean hits, but the intent should have been there earlier for DEL to have a real chance. Slower ball again, Shankar muscles this loft over long-on. This knock will do a world of good to Vijay Shankar's confidence. Meanwhile, MS was shaking his head
Dwayne Bravo to Vijay Shankar, no run, full toss and misses, Shankar tries to slog but gets hit on the pad
Dwayne Bravo to Vijay Shankar, SIX, short ball and smashed. Back-to-back sixes. Why didn't you do this when Pant was going great guns? Would have been of great help. Anyway, this is a pull shot sweetly timed over mid-wicket. Now Rayudu is livid, he wants Dwayne Bravo to nail the yorker
Dwayne Bravo to Vijay Shankar, SIX, mighty swing of the bat, timing very good, but all too late? Slower delivery on the stumps, Shankar gets down on one knee and lofts it over long-on. Looks like Rayudu isn't happy with Dwayne Bravo for bowling a ball in the slot, earlier he was hinting to the bowling to bowl a bouncer
Dwayne Bravo to Vijay Shankar, wide, low full toss, down the leg-side, Dhoni tumbles and collects
Dwayne Bravo to Rahul Tewatia, 1 run, flat-batted in the air towards long-on, Faf runs forward but can't get there
Dwayne Bravo to Vijay Shankar, 1 run, slapped straight down the ground for a single

Just a matter of sealing this off now for CHN. 49 need off 12 balls

Lungi Ngidi to Rahul Tewatia, no run, shortish and rising, Tewatia backs away and swings, makes no contact
Lungi Ngidi to Vijay Shankar, 1 run, oh that's up in the air and Dhoni can't get there, looks like he tweaked his back there as he tried to backpedal. Pacy short ball, Shankar goes for the pull, gets a top edge that clears the keeper

Rahul Tewatia, left handed bat, comes to the crease

Lungi Ngidi to Pant, out Caught by Jadeja!! Maiden T20 League wicket for Lungi Ngidi and he's been mighty impressive. Ends an excellent innings from Pant. Shortish slower delivery outside off stump, Pant slices it high in the air, Jadeja runs forward from sweeper cover and swallows it. Pant c Jadeja b Lungi Ngidi 79(45) [4s-7 6s-4]

Lungi Ngidi to Pant, THAT'S OUT!! Caught!!

Lungi Ngidi to Pant, no run, swing and a miss. Short of length delivery angled across, Pant lost his shape as he swung hard at it
Lungi Ngidi to Pant, FOUR, you are kidding me! What sort of a shot is this? He was almost beaten by the change of pace by this shortish slower ball, slapped it pretty straight towards long-on despite having to fetch this from outside off stump. Dhoni has been having long-on very wide fro Pant and he had no chance. In fact, Dhoni and Bravo were not happy with Faf. Looks like he was standing very wide without instructions and maybe he was just wandering
Lungi Ngidi to Vijay Shankar, leg byes, 1 run, darted in on a good length at 140.7kph, Shankar misses the flick and wears this on the thigh pad, a tickle fine could have been four

Lungi Ngidi [2.0-0-7-0] is back into the attack

That 11-run over takes DEL close, but 55 off 18 is a big ask. Pant alone can't do this. Need help from Vijay Shankar and the rest too.

Dwayne Bravo to Pant, FOUR, low full toss and he's mishit this, yet it runs away for four. Long-on was very square and he had no chance of cutting this off
Dwayne Bravo to Pant, 2 runs, this is almost the Lagaan shot now. Pant was standing with a fully open stance facing the bowler before the ball arrived, spotted the slower delivery and scooper it over the keeper
Dwayne Bravo to Pant, no run, yorker from Dwayne Bravo, Pant squeezes it out into the off-side

Fine leg back now

Dwayne Bravo to Pant, FOUR, the line is wrong and Pant is single-handedly threatening CHN here. Slower delivery down the leg-side, can't bowl there with fine leg inside the ring and Pant helps it away on his way over the man at 45
Dwayne Bravo to Pant, no run, oh hit on the glove, pacy short ball, Pant falls over on the pull, lucky that he didn't get hurt
Dwayne Bravo to Vijay Shankar, 1 run, sliced away over backward point, Shankar couldn't connect properly as Bravo took pace off the ball

MS Dhoni immediately having a chat with Asif about his bowling. 66 needed off 24 balls

KM Asif to Pant, SIX, fast hands from Pant come into play again. You cannot bowl length ball at this stage and KM Asif does that exactly, Pant picks it up over square leg for a maximum
KM Asif to Pant, FOUR, Pant goes slightly to the off-side and sweeps it fine of the stumps, ball goes fine of the short fine leg fielder for a four
KM Asif to Pant, 2 runs, drives it powerfully to long-off for a brace
