All|Overs 1-50
4

to Rahane, FOUR, low full toss angling into Rahane, he punches it down the ground and it beats the mid-off fielder with ease, what a way to get off the mark

4

to Rahane, FOUR, second slip and Rahane would have been back in the hut, throws his bat on a length delivery and the thick edge flies towards the third man, the fielder was pretty square and Rahane will get his second four of the over

4

to du Plessis, FOUR, and luck is with du Plessis this time, once again the ball nipped in, du Plessis played away from the body and ekes out an inside edge, it just missed the stumps and rocketed into the fine leg fence

4

to Rahane, FOUR, that could have very easily taken down the umpire, good length delivery and Rahane punched it past the bowler, who stuck out his left hand but did not get it to the ball, the umpire did well to get himself out of the line of the shot, the ball races away to long-off fence

4

to Rahane, FOUR, silken from Rahane and gets him the result he wanted, waited for this back of a length delivery and then placed the back foot punch past the fielder at cover, the ball raced away to the sweeper cover fence

6

to Rahane, SIX, Rahane does pack a punch or two, short delivery and he has pulled it off the meat of the bat, was never trying to keep it down, the ball sailed well over the deep backward square leg fence, there was a fielder there but he could not do anything about it

6

to du Plessis, SIX, off-cutter from but does not bother du Plessis, he dances down the track and smokes it over long-on for his first six

4

to Rahane, FOUR, short and pulled, it won't go all the way, but that is because Rahane did not shift his weight on the back foot, pulled it off the front foot and the ball races away the deep mid-wicket fence

OT

to Rahane, 2 runs, what happened there? Whatever happened, in the end du Plessis is safe, Rahane wanted to drive towards the off-side, got it off the inside part to square leg, took the first run quite fast and wanted the second as well, du Plessis was ball watching and denied it, but then seeing that Rahane had almost made it, went for the run, had a one on one battle with Buttler who underarmed the throw at the bowler's end. The fielder missed and du Plessis made it to fight another day

6

to du Plessis, SIX, very full outside off, not a poor delivery at all but Plessis throws his bat and gets the best result one could of a that delivery, a six to sweeper cover

6

to du Plessis, SIX, this is cruel, very cruel, du Plessis stepped down, did well to bowl short, foxed him completely but du Plessis went with the pull, the top edge flies well over third man for a six

4

to Rahane, FOUR, "SHOT...SHOT" screamed Sagar Chawla in the comm. box here. Was spot on that Mumbai lad. Length outside off and Rahane just needed to time the punch - He does so with utter nonchalance and the outfield takes care of the rest. Raced past mid-off and the Pune Supergiants are cruising through

W

to du Plessis, out Bowled!! Bhajji is having one heck of a night. First with the bat and now with the ball. Finally a wicket for Mumbai. But was it too late? Flattish on leg-stump line, du Plessis drops to one knee and seeks to sweep. Was a bit early into the stroke and the key was - Bhajji slowed it up in the air. Missed the shot completely and finds his leg-stump pegged back. The ball sneaked through his arms and du Plessis was befuddled by the slowness of the delivery. du Plessis b 34(33) [4s-1 6s-3]

6

to Pietersen, SIX, "Take that" lauds Ravi Shaz as KP waltzes down the pitch and deposits a handsome blow over long-on. Too predictable from Bhajji who floats one on off and KP says "Thank you" after pinging it off the middle

4

Gopal to Rahane, FOUR, this won't help either. Short and please-slap me line from Gopal. Rahane jumps back and murders the pull through mid-wicket. Fifty for Rahane

6

to Pietersen, SIX, Bhajji tries the drifter, and he's been rammed into oblivion. Drops it short allowing KP enough time on the back foot and he butchers it

4

Singh to Rohit, FOUR, and that will be the first four of the event, many more to come in the coming days. Short delivery, offered Rohit room, he sat back and cracked it to the sweeper cover fence

W

to Rohit, out Lbw!! Take a bow , he has devoured the Mumbai captain, first ball wicket. Rohit played across the line and missed the angle created by , the ball hit Rohit well below the knee roll and the umpire raised his finger almost instantly. Rohit though does not look happy as he walks back, but is he unhappy with himself or the decision? Replays will tell us the complete story. The ball would have hit the middle and leg, I guess.Rohit lbw b 7(5) [4s-1]

6

Singh to Simmons, SIX, disdain, carnage and other few more adjectives, no respect for the bowler at all, charges down the track and lofts it over the bowler's head with a straight bat, just about clears the fence down the ground, first six of the T20 League, 2016

4

to Pandya, FOUR, finally Pandya justifies the move to send him up the order, length was up there and he smashed it over the fielder at cover, outfield here is a batsman's ally

4

to Pandya, FOUR, not as poetic as the previous one but who minds as long as they fetch runs, Pandya backed out and flashed hard this time, top edge flew away from third man, one bounce over the ropes, two in two for Pandya

W

to Simmons, out Bowled!! Oh where were you in the T20 WC semis, he has cleaned up Simmons. And this time too the umpires check for the no ball but the luck is not with Simmons tonight. Coming to the delivery, the ball was angled in and Simmons tried to flick it across but missed the line, there was enough gap between the bat and the pad for the ball to sneak through and uproot the leg-stump. Simmons b 8(8) [6s-1]

W

Marsh to Pandya, out Caught by Dhoni!! From what I have seen, Dhoni does not drop high catches and this is not an exception. The move to send Pandya up the order has failed, nothing great about the delivery, shortish on the stumps, Pandya was so early on the pull that he could have played the last delivery of the previous over, gets it off the top edge and it balloons high for Dhoni to settle under it, was also undone by some extra bounce. Pandya c Dhoni b Marsh 9(11) [4s-2]

OT

Marsh to Rayudu, 1 run, direct hit and Buttler was back in the hut, Rayudu dabbed this back of a length delivery to gully and after a bit of hesitation set off, Buttler was running to the danger end, an under-arm flick from Rahane missed the target and Buttler survives

W

Marsh to Buttler, out Caught by Ashwin!! Dhoni wanted to bowl and he will be delighted with how things are unfolding here, Buttler was lucky to have survived a run-out scare on the previous delivery, but not this time though, the ball swings away after pitching full around off, Buttler closed the bat face too early and leading edge carried to the slip fielder, who I must tell you took a really good low catch. An English batter not accounting for swing is baffling for me. Buttler c Ashwin b Marsh 0(2)

W

Bhatia to Pollad, out Lbw!! And guess what! He consumes the big fish. The umpies ae checking fo a possible no-ball. He seems okay and Pollad will have to cay on. He could only add one un afte that lucky epieve. Cetainly thee's some movement on offe. It was on a length and seamed back in, Pollad looks to wok it to leg but ends up playing all aound it. Stuck on the back leg - In font of middle and umpie Kuma Dhamasena had no hesitation in putting his finge up. Pollad lbw b Bhatia 1(8)

4

Marsh to Rayudu, FOUR, don't bowl there! Full toss on the pads, easy peasy for Rayudu who flicks behind square to fetch his first boundary of T20 League 2016

OT

Bhatia to ayudu, 1 un, sits up on a length outside off, ayudu punchily dives wide of mid-off and sets off fo a isky single, just manages to get in - With a despeate dive beating the thow fom the fieldsman

W

Ashwin to Shreyas Gopal, out Caught by Rahane!! There you go! The first wicket for the debutant and Ashwin wins the battle of legspinners. Tosses the ball up outside off and tempts Shreyas Gopal to race down the pitch. Request obliged but he could only find Rahane at long-off who grabs a good low catch. Shreyas Gopal c Rahane b Ashwin 2(16)

4

Bhatia to ayudu, FOU, es in length and pays the pice. Slips it full outside off, ayudu dives and slots it to the left of mid-off, way she goes into the fence. Much-needed bounday that!

W

to Rayudu, out Caught by du Plessis!! My word, it's a day for first ball wickets. Fourth Pune bowler to do so. twirls in and drops a stinker halfway down outside off, which is pulled hard, but straight to Faf at mid-wicket. He plucks it nonchalantly and starts chuckling. Mumbai are going down in a rush. Rayudu c du Plessis b 22(27) [4s-2]

4

to Harbhajan, FOUR, these spinner vs spinner battles are so fascinating. Surely you want the bragging rights at the end of the day. Harbhajan's feet work like a ballerina this time. Goes right back in the crease, creates his own length and executes the late-cut to perfection past backward point

4

Ashwin to Harbhajan, FOUR, clubbed back down the ground. Very full from and Harbhajan lays into it. Drills it hard over the bowler's head

6

Marsh to Vinay, SIX, it's almost the similar ball like the previous one, maybe not as wide, and Vinay has muscled the flat-batted forehand over extra-cover. Packed a punch. Just loaded up on the bottom hand and spanked it hard. Looked terribly ungainly while playing it. Who cares

4

Singh to Harbhajan, FOUR, ufff! How I love this ninja swinging! Length ball outside off, he's got the line wide like he wanted to, but the length makes Bhajji see red. Sits on the back knee and slaps the funk out of it through extra-cover

W

Singh to Vinay, out Caught by Smith!! Change of plan. Change of plan for Vinay. And it's worked. Pounds it in on a back of a length, hits high on the bat as Vinay commits to a pull and spoons towards Smith at deep mid-wicket. He can catch those drunk. Vinay c Smith b Singh 12(11) [6s-1]

4

Singh to Harbhajan, FOUR, whack! Oh yeah. Bhajji unleashing his wrath and slugs a low full toss straight back over the head of . Clears his front leg, or both his legs, and gives it a heave ho

4

Singh to Harbhajan, FOUR, not to me, you don't! Short ball around off, no venom behind it and it's been pulled over and wide of short fine leg. Excellent swivel of the feet to enable him to fetch it from wide of him

4

to Harbhajan, FOUR, Harbhajan is boosting Mumbai in these end overs. This onslaught might still not be enough to complete a recovery, but it's a start. goes slower ball, bowls it well wide of off and is tonked back down the ground. Long-off has no chance

6

to Harbhajan, SIX, yes, yes, yes! Full toss and Bhajji has beaten it to a pulp. Swings his bat and deposits it over long-off

4

to Harbhajan, FOUR, what a stunning fightback! From out of nowhere, Mumbai finish with 121 on the board. Back of a length from , after having lost all confidence in executing yorkers, it's wide too. And it's been greeted with a flat-batted smack to the extra-cover fence
