4

to Uthappa, FOUR, first ball and he slips a short and wide delivery, Uthappa fetches the drive and caresses it through cover, in the gap...

W

to Uthappa, out Caught by Henriques!! Robbie's rollicking start comes to an end. Warner is elated, pumps his fist as he ambles in to join the team celebration huddle. Similar to the first ball - Short and entices Uthappa with a wider angle, Uthappa obliges and lunges into a punching drive. Doesn't bother to keep it down, straight to the safe hands of Henriques at short cover. Uthappa c Henriques b 11(7) [4s-1]

6

Hooda to Gambhir, SIX, short and Gambhir had a week's time to dispatch that. Rocks back, swivels and pummels it over the deep backward square fence

4

to Munro, leg byes, FOUR, another poor delivery from Sran, on a length but down leg. Munro throws his willow into an uppish flick and misses - Raced away off the pads towards the fine leg fence

4

to Munro, FOUR, whoa! He's getting better... Yet again Sran serves him short stuff and Munro is quick to rock back, nails the pull over mid-wicket, fetch that!

4

to Gambhir, FOUR, timing at its very best! Slighly short of a good length but there's too much width according to Gambhir's standards. Just punched it sweetly and beat Warner's desperate dive at wide mid-off

4

to Gambhir, FOUR, superb placement from GG! Walks across ever so slightly and flicks this in the gap behind square. Whattay placement!

W

to Gambhir, out Munro Run Out!! Is it Yuvi's night today? Look at that pick up and throw... Gambhir bunted this one onto the ground towards point and called for a quick single. To be honest, it was a risky single. Yuvi runs forward, collects the ball, aims and hits the bull's eye - Munro was a couple of yards short. Munro run out (Yuvraj) 16(17) [4s-1]

W

Cutting to Gambhir, out Caught by (sub)V Shankar!! Oh my word! Cutting just does what his captain wanted. A wicket after the time-out, how crucial is that? Nice short delivery, got good shoulder too - Angled in and Gambhir had to fetch it from just outside off, goes through with the shot but the timing's messed up. Skews off the splice and Shankar tumbles forward at long-on to grab a bonzer of a catch. Gambhir c (sub)V Shankar b Cutting 28(28) [4s-2 6s-1]

W

to Y Pathan, out Caught by Bhuvneshwar!! That looked like a good shot.. until Bhuvneshwar dived forward at deep mid-wicket and grabbed it! Good catch that and Pathan, the in-form Pathan, the Pathan whose form was going through a perennial spring perishes. Whips this fullish delivery, lots of bottom hand into it but seemed to have checked it in the end. A little more bat swing and the ball might have zoomed over Bhuvi. Not to be. Y Pathan c Bhuvneshwar b 2(6)

6

Sharma to M Pandey, SIX, sheer power that. Shimmied out, made room for the drift in and uses the shortened length to time the punch over long-on. The fielder looked interested for a second, given the seeming mistiming on that, but too much power. Too much. Bottom-hand too

4

to M Pandey, FOUR, when you die, you die. When you don't, you take on a cutter angled across from the FIZZ, reach out to make up for the width and flat-bat it down to the long-off fence. Lovely hit

OT

to Suryakumar Yadav, no run, if that hit, Pandey was gone. The shortish delivery surprises with the bounce again, Yadav somehow pushes it away to mid-off where Moises slides across and almost dives whilst throwing it onto the stumps at the bowler's end. Pandey was halfway down the pitch and hurries back in to thank his luck. The throw missed!

4

to Suryakumar Yadav, FOUR, lovely. Kingpins his back heel and gyrates around, takes this leg-stump full toss and paddles it away.. uppishly to the fine leg fence. 71 off 42 needed now

6

to Suryakumar Yadav, SIX, everything was out of sync on this. And the FIZZ has erred. Big time. This cutter was angled wide, Yadav used protracted hands to loft it, couldn't get right behind it and skews it up towards square third man. Mustafizur runs across from third man, isn't quite there and has to makeshift with a jump but it's not that high. Inclines to his right in air, the ball pops up and over the fences to make it more criminal..

W

to Suryakumar Yadav, out Caught by Dhawan!! The young gun departs. chops the length back, keeps the line down leg which means that Yadav had to swivel and power that away. Was late to pick up the swivelling pull, pops it high and Dhawan at deep square leg circles around a touch before settling in for a good catch - threw himself a touch forward and digested it, as his doppleganger looked on from the stands. Suryakumar Yadav c Dhawan b 23(15) [4s-1 6s-1]

OT

to M Pandey, 1 run, ah, that lovelier. I need a thesaurus. Flat yorker on middle, Pandey had to reach out - so far backed away - and makes an acute angle between the bat and the ground to prevent the ball from rolling onto the stumps

4

to M Pandey, FOUR, that's a fizzled out ball from the FIZZ. And Pandey swings his bat to fizzle that out further. Was backed-away, the full toss was dipping and Pandey inclined to the off-side, crouched to get under it and pulled it away to deep mid-wicket. Many camera angles to determine if that was a four or a six.. and it looks to have hit the ropes on the half-volley. Finally. Who's returning that half a minute to me..

6

to M Pandey, out Caught by Deepak Hooda!! That's a drivel dismissal driven by pressure. Was a full toss, can you believe? Just that Bhuvi did well to dart it in to make up for the room made, and Pandey lofted it all cramped. Not enough power and Hooda settles under it and takes it nicely at long-on. M Pandey c Deepak Hooda b 36(28) [4s-2 6s-1]

4

to Holder, FOUR, just over a leaping mid-on! Not quite close on replays. Widened his stance, did Holder, and lofted this pacy length ball through long-on

W

to Sathish, out Bowled!! The yorker didn't stand out, KOL's plight didn't, but the pace on this ball. clocked 140ks on this. A yorker that can cut through, Sathish is obviously late and the ball darts in to kill the leg-stump. HYD on their way. Sathish b 8(9)

W

to Holder, out Caught by Ben Cutting!! This is an anti-cliffhanger. With the result almost known, Holder tries to make a statement, gets a length ball too to execute that loft but so tame it was, almost powerless, reflecting KOL's mental agony, that it shot into long-off's hands. Holder c Ben Cutting b 6(7) [4s-1]

4

orkel to Dhawan, FOUR, sees the width and slashes at a length ball outside off, he is in no control of it but the outside edge flies wide of backward point. Narine puts in a very ordinary effort, really, running to his left fro third an and lets it through

4

orkel to Dhawan, FOUR, yes sir! That's a Dhawan special. Such brilliant use of the wrists to pick a length ball fro iddle and off and whip it over id-wicket

W

orkel to Dhawan, out Bowled!! Dhawan gets carried away, tries for a hat-trick of boundaries and is gone. He backed away a long way, then attepted to cut a ball fro iddle stup but was beaten by the pace of this back of a length delivery which clocked 140ks. The top of iddle stup is pegged back. First blood for KOL. Dhawan b orkel 10(10) [4s-2]

4

orkel to Warner, FOUR, just out of the reach of Uthappa! Well played, you have to say in the end. Back of a length delivery, Warner uses the angle away fro hi and glides it very fine. I bet he wouldn't have accounted for the ball to go this fine. But a boundary nonetheless

6

Pathan to Henriques, SIX, finall, a much needed six! This breaks the shackles and eases the pressure. A half-tracker, a rare one toda, and Henriques clobbers the pull into the deep mid-wicket stands

4

to Warner, FOUR, concedes a boundary first ball! A poor delivery down leg, Warner simply times the flick and the ball races past square leg

4

to Warner, FOUR, oh lovely shot! The length is a bit too full around middle, Warner clears his front leg to allow for the bat to come down freely and flogs it into the wide long-on fence. That's a statement, if ever there was one

4

to Henriques, FOUR, decent short ball, around helmet-high but it's been dispatched to the boundary. Henriques might have been expecting it which made the weight transfer easy. Saw it all the way and kept it along the floor wide of fine leg

OT

to Warner, 1 run, fires one in the blockhole just outside off, Warner gets his bat down in the nick of time and squeezes it in front of point

6

Yadav to Henriques, SIX, this is the googly and Henriques may not have picked it. But he got close enough to the ball after charging down and went through with the swipe. Clears long-off. Might have sliced it actually

W

Yadav to Henriques, out Caught&Bowled!! He won't get away this time for this has been skied off the leading edge. Yadav settles under it and hangs on. A shortish ball down leg, Henriques tries to pull it hard but doesn't control the bounce and departs after a breezy knock. Henriques c and b Yadav 31(21) [4s-1 6s-2]

W

Yadav to Warner, out Bowled!! has scooted through Warner and is absolutely pumped. Look at the young man, look at his elation. It's a googly which pitches on a length just outside off and turns back in. Warner is already on one knee for a sweep but the ball sneaks under him and rattles his timber. Such contrast in emotions. Warner removes his gloves and looks like a raging bull as he walks back. Warner b Yadav 28(28) [4s-3]

4

to Yuvraj, FOUR, Yuvraj takes a bit of risk and it has paid him well, stayed leg-side and opened the bat on the cut to find the gap through point with ease

4

Yadav to Yuvraj, FOUR, this was not hit that well but since it was in the gap, Yuvraj will get four. It was a tossed up delivery and Yuvi lofted it between deep mid-wicket and long-on

6

Yadav to Yuvraj, SIX, he has compensated for the previous shot, hit it really well. Stepped down and reached the pitch of the delivery and lofted it over the bowler with ease. had come round the wicket but it did not work against Yuvi

6

to Deepak Hooda, SIX, not exactly tossed up but Deepak Hooda has been helped by a short boundary there, he got low and flogged it over deep mid-wicket with some power

4

to Yuvraj, FOUR, this was spurred by those dot balls. Yuvraj threw his bat on it and connected really well to beat the fielder at long-off with ease

6

to Deepak Hooda, SIX, length during death overs is criminal. Deepak Hooda cleared his front leg and smacked it well over the fence at the cow corner

4

to Yuvraj, FOUR, Yuvraj's game is not only about hitting down the ground, this time he used the field to good effect. Moved across on this short delivery and helped it over short fine leg

W

to Yuvraj, out Deepak Hooda Run Out!! Yuvi is livid with Deepak Hooda and rightly, he would have been running to the danger end had they gone for this single. There never was a run there, Yuvraj drove this length delivery straight to the fielder at mid-off, Deepak Hooda was not ball watching and set off. Kuldeep Yadav did not miss the target and caught Deepak Hooda short of his crease there. Deepak Hooda run out (Kuldeep Yadav) 21(13) [6s-2]

4

to Yuvraj, FOUR, whatever shot a left-hander plays looks elegant anyway, but this was a touch better than any of those. Not a short delivery, perhaps back of a length and Yuvraj pulled it off the front foot through mid-wicket, the ball raced to the fence in no time

W

Yadav to Ben Cutting, out Stumped!! This is 's night, he can do no wrong. But some senseless batting from Ben Cutting, what was he thinking here. Has not faced a delivery and then decides to charge down against a bowler who has been turning them. This was a googly and Ben Cutting had no time to get back in his crease after he was beaten by the turn. Ben Cutting st Uthappa b Yadav 0(1)

OT

Yadav to N Ojha, no run, and what happened there? Yuvraj is lucky to be there. Ojha patted it to point after stepping down, Yuvraj wanted a single but Ojha was not ready. Yuvi was almost near the striker's end but as Uthappa moved to his right and got to the ball, he rushes back. By then, Ojha starts to take off as well. Huge mix-up as both run towards the bowler's end, the throw from Uthappa hits Yuvi's boot and deflects. Gambhir then picks it up and has a shy, but Yuvraj managed to get back to the non-striker's end in time. In fact, Yuvi almost ran two there. Had the throw been accurate from the keeper, it would have been curtains. Ojha always said no for the run but Yuvi came rushing as he badly wanted the strike

4

Yadav to Yuvraj, FOUR, he has swept it well Yuvraj. Got low to smother whatever spin was there on it and then broomed it through square leg

4

Yadav to Yuvraj, FOUR, and now the use of feet. This is the key, do not allow a spinner to get his length right. Got to the pitch of the delivery and wristed it over mid-wicket, beat the dive of the fielder in the deep

4

to Yuvraj, FOUR, short and quick outside off, Yuvraj wanted to pull this one, was beaten by the pace of the delivery. Got a thickish edge that flew past Morkel at short third man, he gave it a chase as well but was not quick enough to hunt it down

W

to Yuvraj, out Bowled!! has got the big fish. Yuvraj has been outdone this time. He wanted to play smart by moving across, kept it full and on the stumps. Kept it at normal pace as well and that did not help Yuvraj's cause. Once he was beaten the ball was always going to peg down the middle stump. Minus 10-15 runs from what you were expecting HYD to get. Yuvraj b 44(30) [4s-8 6s-1]

W

to N Ojha, out Caught by Uthappa!! Did it carry? Yes it did. The reaction from Uthappa did not suggest so. Slower delivery outside off and Ojha wanted to smack it over long-off, got a thick outside edge that got low as it reached Uthappa, he did well to dive in front and got his mitts under the ball in time. A keeper diving in front is no mean feat. A lot of judgement is needed there. N Ojha c Uthappa b 7(9)

6

orkel to Bipul Shara, SIX, it never looked like clearing the fence but Bipul Shara packs soe punch for sure. He got it in his zone around off, aintained his shape and lofted over long-off

6

orkel to Bipul Shara, SIX, orkel is getting soe treatent here. This was even better than the previous one he hit in the over. It was a back of a length delivery on the stups, Bipul Shara cleared his leg and sacked it, alost flat batted over the bowler's head

W

orkel to Bhuvneshwar, out Caught by Pandey!! Bhuvneshwar wanted to do a Bipul Shara but could not effect it properly. Anyway has done his job, HYD will have Bipul Shara on strike for the last ball. Bhuvneshwar cleared his leg on this shortish ball, trying to sack it over long-off, the ball took the toe of the bat and skied high at cover for Pandey to settle under it. Bhuvneshwar c Pandey b orkel 1(2)
