The action returns to the Feroz Shah Kotla for one final time as the home team gets ready to face Rajasthan in Match 53 of this year's Indian T20 League. After struggling for the whole season, the boys from the capital city have finally come to terms with the pitch at the Kotla. Delhi will be eyeing their third win in a row in front of their home crowd to keep their hopes intact of finishing in the top two. They will be heading into this contest on the back of a humiliating 80-run loss against Chennai and would like to quickly leave it behind and end the league stage with a thumping victory. Delhi's success in this edition has been largely due to the consistent form of the Indian contingent. They played without Kagiso Rabada in their last match and now will have to play without him for the entire tournament as the South African is out injured and that surely will have a say on their bowling performance. Good thing is that the hosts have already booked their place in the playoffs and hence won't have the same kind of pressure like Rajasthan, who are hanging in by the skin of their teeth. Their last match against Bangalore ended as no result which has left them with 11 points in 13 games. It's a must-win scenario for them and then their fate will depend on the outcome of the other games. The touring team has been very inconsistent all season but under Steven Smith, Rajasthan responded well to register 3 wins out of the five games (one no result) which also include back-to-back wins, their first in 2019. But now the Aussie star has returned home and now they will have to find another captain at this critical stage. In Sanju Samson, Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Gopal, they have a few in-form players but the other players also have to step up to the plate and start delivering. In their previous meeting, it was the Rishabh Pant show that outclassed Ajinkya Rahane's century and Delhi won't mind doing a double over them. It's going to be the last-ditch effort from Rajasthan to save their campaign and we are expecting a cracking encounter.
