W

Yadav to Lewis, ot Bowled!! Lewis is ndone by mesh's angle and pace. A short of a length delivery at 143kph from rond the wicket, that pitched otside off and kept coming in. Lewis is caght in the crease and doesn't accont for the inward movement. Too late to bring his bat down and the ball beats the inside edge to knock the top of off. Lewis b Yadav 2(5)

4

to Kyle Hope, FOUR, width served outside off and Kyle Hope flays hard at it with an angled bat. Finds the gap and the ball was travelling at pace. Ashwin, from third man, runs hard to his right and puts in a desperate dive. Puts in his best effort, but can't stop the ball from going past the rope

4

to Shai Hope, FOUR, 10 runs from the over! Good looking shot to end the over. Shai Hope rides the bounce on this short of length delivery and punches it with a slightly angled bat. Pierces the gap and there is none stopping that

4

Yadav to Shai Hope, FOR, edged and safe! Right throgh the gap between the keeper and a wide slip (almost a forth slip). Shortish ball otside off, Shai Hope isn't in the greatest positions to pnch and gets an otside edge that flies throgh the gap and rns away into the third man fence

4

Pandya to Kyle Hope, FOUR, right in the gap between fine leg and deep backward square leg. It was a pretty good bumper from Pandya. Kyle Hope hooks it off the front foot, not quite off the middle of the bat. But, managed to get the placement right

4

Pandya to Kyle Hope, FOUR, what was that? Sharp bumper, Kyle Hope wanted to let it go. The bat was pointed heavenwards and the ball takes the toe-end to fly over the keeper into the fence

W

Pandya to Kyle Hope, out Caught by Kedar Jadhav!! The short ball ploy works. It was banged halfway down wide of off, Kyle Hope doesn't go full-hearted with his hook shot. He dragged it from outside off and the bounce was above his head as well. The ball balloons up off the top portion of the bat and settles into the safe hands of Jadhav at deep backward square leg. Poor stroke form the elder Hope. Kyle Hope c Kedar Jadhav b Pandya 19(35) [4s-3]

W

Yadav to Roston Chase, out Bowled!! Yadav strikes! The Windies struggled to pick Rashid Khan in the previous series against Afghanistan. And, Chase doesn't spot Yadav's wrong 'un. Nicely tossed up delivery, that starts outside leg, pitches on middle and hits the off-pole. Chase was forward to flick it and ended up playing all around it. The Windies need a partnership here. Roston Chase b Yadav 2(3)

4

Yadav to J Mohammed, FOUR, that's a half-volley outside off and Mohammed takes full toll of it. Gets to the pitch of the ball with a stride forward and creams the cover drive to open his account

W

Pandya to Shai Hope, out Caught&Bowled!! Second wicket for Pandya and both have been off short balls. The bouncer gets big on Shai Hope. He persists with the pull shot. He was in no control of the shot and gets a top-edge that brushes his helmet and lobs up high in the air. Pandya calls for it, settles and takes a skier. Windies in a spot of bother. Shai Hope c and b Pandya 24(50) [4s-2]

4

Yadav to J Mohammed, FOUR, Mohammed decides to go for the sweep and manages to get a top edge that goes between the keeper and leg-slip. Rahane gives a chase, but the ball wins the race

4

Yadav to J Mohammed, FOUR, short and wide outside off, Mohammed jumps back in his crease and cuts it fiercely through the covers. Found the gap and the ball raced away

W

to Holder, wide, out Stumped!! Wow! That's a Dhoni special. As usual, lightning quick. Was Holder distracted by 's new action? Could well have. It was an off-break that was bowled down the leg-side. Holder comes forward to work it through the on-side and misses it. His weight takes him forward. Dhoni is very swift to move to his left and whips the bails off in a flash. The back leg was in the air. Holder st Dhoni b 6(9)

OT

to Rovman Powell, no run, appeal for caught behind and umpire Nigel Duguid raises his finger. Rovman Powell decides to review. Fair delivery. Hard to tell if there was an edge with the naked eye. No deflection. No spike on the UltraEdge. Should be Not Out and it is. It was a straight ball from that Powell didn't pick and stuck his bat out. The ball misses the outside edge and settles into MS's gloves who went up straightaway. Good review from Windies

4

Yadav to Rovman Powell, FOUR, good shot! Sweeps and sweeps hard in the yawning gap between deep mid-wicket and deep backward square leg. Gets good connection and the ball bulleted away

4

Yadav to J Mohammed, FOR, edged and for. Good length delivery otside off, Mohammed looks to cover-drive, gets a genine otside edge that goes well wide of the keeper. No slips and the ball dribbles away into the fence

4

Yadav to Rovman Powell, FOR, looks to pll, big top edge and it goes right over the keeper for a for. The fastish delivery came onto the bat qicker than expected and hence the error bt reslts in a for

4

Yadav to Rovman Powell, FOR, another pll, another top-edge and another for! Lightning it seems does strike twice. That was another good sharp delivery aimed at the ribs bt the ball took the top-edge to rn away into the fence over the keeper

4

Pandya to Rovman Powell, FOUR, BOOM! Takes it from slightly outside off and smacks the pull in front of mid-wicket. That was some power from the young man

4

Pandya to Rovman Powell, FOUR, pitches it up for a change and the batsman takes the aerial route, doing it in style. Holds the pose with some poise and announces to the opposition that they have scored 50 as a pair

W

Yadav to Rovman Powell, out Caught by Hardik Pandya!! The wicket that makes Virat erupt in joy. The googly gets the better of the batsman on the sweep as he top-edges it for the man at backward square to complete the catch. End of an enterprising knock from Powell. The pressure was beginning to tell and thus the wicket. Rovman Powell c Hardik Pandya b Yadav 30(43) [4s-5]

4

to Nurse, FOUR, slaps the ball down the ground and gets it over the man at mid-off

W

to Nurse, out Caught by U Yadav!! The slog doesn't go away anywhere. He finds the diving square leg fielder. Umesh dived first without really seeing the trajectory but then adjusted well to clutch onto the ball. 149th ODI wicket for . Nurse was trying to be positive from ball 1 but perishes in the cause of lifting the tempo. Nurse c U Yadav b 6(6) [4s-1]

W

Yadav to J Mohammed, out Lbw!! A full ball is missed by Mohammed and has been given out! He has reviewed it immediately. That was well flighted and the batsman went for the booming sweep. There is no inside edge on it. What does the ball tracker say? It says the decision will be upheld. THREE REDS. It was a loud shout from the keeper-bowler combo and indeed they were right. The ball pitching on middle and leg was crashing the middle of the middle sticks. As plumb as it can get. This dismissal was pretty reminiscent of the dismissal of Shai Hope in the last game. J Mohammed lbw b Yadav 40(61) [4s-4]

W

to Miguel Cummins, out Lbw!! 150th ODI wicket for the spin magician from Chennai. That was a flat, quick ball aimed for the pads and it did just that. The back pad was missiled by the parabola and the umpire was quick to raise his finger. No review was there for the aid of Miguel Cummins as it looked slightly high. Miguel Cummins lbw b 1(4)

W

Jadhav to Kesrick Williams, out Bowled!! Kohli opts up for Jadhav and the batsman plays down the wrong line to prick the sticks. He played well inside the line of the ball for the ball to clatter into the off-pole. India go 2-0 up and Jadhav signals to his keeper and the skipper that he bowled a top-spinner there. Kesrick Williams b Jadhav 1(2)

4

Cummins to Rahane, FOUR, little bit of room and the banker in Rahane cashes into it. That was trifle short, not a lot of room but Rahane was happy to wind his arms into the shot. The placement behind square was impeccable as well

W

Cummins to Dhawan, out Caught by Roston Chase!! The short ball does the trick. The batsman going for the upper cut and managed more height than distance for third man to settle in and take the catch. There was no pace on that delivery and Dhawan trying to use it was sold down the river by the slowness of the wicket. Dhawan c Roston Chase b Cummins 2(6)

4

to Rahane, FOUR, straying on the pads, poor delivery; Rahane takes full toll as he helps it to the fine leg fence with a neat tickle

4

Cummins to Rahane, FOUR, you cannot expect to get away by bowling that wide to Rahane. Christmas gift for Jinks; short and wide, he lashes a cut square on the off-side

4

to Kohli, FOUR, low full toss on the pads to one of the World's best batsman, seriously? Kohli whips it through mid-wicket, save your legs captain!

4

Cummins to Kohli, FOUR, on the pads, Kohli says thank you and dispatches it to the fine leg fence with utter ease

W

to Kohli, out Caught by Kyle Hope!! Stunning catch by the debutant and that's 50th ODI wicket for Jason as captain. Well done! wins the battle of skippers. Persisted with the channel that troubled Kohli - about fifth stump - that too on a track that's behaving weirdly. Extra bounce, tacky and all that. A tame poke wide of off and the edge is found, Kyle Hope dives full length, at gully, to his left and grabs it one-handed. Kohli c Kyle Hope b 11(22) [4s-2]

4

Williams to Rahane, FOUR, thick edge and through! That's 50 for India, but not an ideal way to get there. Rahane follows one of the tips from coaching manual. Slash and slash hard and that's what made the difference between a wicket and boundary here. He hit that so hard, Hope had no chance. Well over him. It was bowled on a good length and had good skid off the surface, Rahane's eyes lit up on seeing the width

4

Williams to Yuvraj, FOUR, had there been a slip Yuvi would have been walking back by now. Good length, nipping away, forces Yuvi to chase that. He falls in the trap and flirts with an indecisive blade, thick edge runs away past the keeper

4

Williams to Yuvraj, FOUR, this one won't be spared. Too far outside off, Yuvi goes deep inside the crease and flays it square on the off-side

4

Williams to Yuvraj, FOUR, this should ease his nerves. Short ball, in the slot, Yuvi swivels and muscles the pull with supreme authority

4

to Yuvraj, FOUR, full and down leg, Yuvi flicks it in the air and over short fine. That's easy peasy for him

W

Bishoo to Yuvraj, out Lbw!! Windies and Bishoo make amends for not taking the review earlier. Did not cost them much. And a timely wicket as well, Yuvraj had started to get into his groove. Nothing but a leggie that does not turn, Yuvraj has a habit of playing inside the line, remember the Champions Trophy final against Shadab Khab, makes the same mistake and is struck on the front pad before taking the inside edge. Windies wanted to be absolutely sure before challenging the onfield decision and hence took a bit of time to review it. Ball-tracking shows it to be hitting the top of off-stump. Yuvraj lbw b Bishoo 39(55) [4s-4]

OT

Cummins to Rahane, 1 run, fifty for Rahane. It is a hard earned one. Making most of Rohit's absence - third consecutive fifty-plus score for him. Bangar and Umesh are on their feet applauding, while Kohli is sitting and appreciating the knock. Short of length and close to off, steered with an angled bat to third man. There is plenty of work still to be done as India need to accelerate

6

to Rahane, SIX, a much needed six for India. Windies were allowed to bowl to their line and lengths and Rahane had to do something about it, picks the short ball early, gets into position and slams the pull over deep mid-wicket. All the way! Right on the ad cushions. Will this open the gates for India?

4

Bishoo to Dhoni, FOUR, bang! That is right out of tennis ball cricket. Floated outside off, Dhoni is almost on one knee to swipe it straight past Rahane. Might not have been where he intended, but the final result is all that matters

D

Bishoo to Dhoni, no run, dropped! Dhoni is taking his chance, while Windies are not. Saw the flight on this delivery and went for the big heave-ho, the outside edge lobs towards short third man, who gets across and dives to get both hands to it, but it pops out as he thuds into the ground

4

Bishoo to Dhoni, FOUR, butchered! Bishoo goes close to Dhoni and is murdered. The length was full and Dhoni managed to get under that, hammered over the bowler's head and the ball traveled at the speed of knots

W

Cummins to Rahane, out Caught by Devendra Bishoo!! This time Bishoo goes for the catch and plucks off a beauty. A well-set Rahane departs. Big wicket for the Windies at this stage. It is not going to easy for the new batsman on this surface. Short and outside off, Rahane had to go for it, cuts it up and over point. Bishoo covers a lot of ground from sweeper cover, dives full length and takes it inches from the ground. The important part was he did not allow the ball to pop out after he hit the grass. Rahane c Devendra Bishoo b Cummins 72(112) [4s-4 6s-1]

4

Cummins to Dhoni, FOUR, neat! Nothing arrogant about this shot. The slower full delivery outside off, Dhoni allowed to come and then opened the bat face to guide it past the backward point fielder, the timing takes care of the rest

4

to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, Jadhav has his own unique style and it is quite effective. Once more shuffles across his stumps, tries to bowl the yorker outside off, dishes out a full toss and Jadhav laps it over square leg umpire. No one in the deep there to stop that

OT

to Dhoni, 1 run, fifty for Dhoni. Not a fluent one, but one that India needed badly. No raise of the bat as he knows that there is still a lot to play for. Full delivery outside off, Dhoni is almost on one knee looking to swipe it to the on-side, changes his mind and drives to sweeper cover

6

to Dhoni, SIX, right in the slot and Dhoni says thank you very much. misses the yorker length by a couple of inches, Dhoni was waiting for it and smashes it right back over the bowler. Pings the ad boardings

6

to Dhoni, SIX, consecutive sixes. Innovation from Dhoni. Moves across his stumps to get underneath the full delivery, then heaves it to the small side boundary. Well over the deep mid-wicket fence

6

Williams to Kedar Jadhav, SIX, for once Williams misses his length on the slower ball and is punished, lands it right on the swinging length and Jadhav waited for it to heave it over wide long-on

4

Cummins to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, Cummins is down and Jadhav is down and the ball is at the rope. Jadhav was on one knee even before Cummins was running in, the back of a length delivery was scooped over the backward square fielder. The balance and execution perfect from Jadhav

4

Williams to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, this is high quality batting. He's picking his spots to perfection. Mid-off was brought in, Jadhav stays leg-side, extends his arms and sends it over the fielder

4

Williams to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, streaky! India won't mind it. Another short delivery and Jadhav is a tad early into the pull shot, the top-edge skies right over Shai Hope and almost goes the distance, one bounce and over the rope

4

Williams to Dhoni, FOUR, Dhoni finishes in style. Walks away non-chalantly. The off-pace delivery on off, Dhoni makes a bit of room and lofts it right back over Williams, mid-off had no chance and it is 13 runs off the last over
