W

Joseph to Dhawan, out Caught by Holder!! Second successive failure for Shikhar Dhawan. Joseph is chuffed to bits and why wouldn't he be! A nothing shot from SD, lacked intent. It was short and banged hard into the pitch, Dhawan wanted to hack it away over mid-on with a booming cross bat swing, doesn't get hold of it. Holder at mid-on moves to his left and takes the simplest of catches. Dhawan c Holder b Joseph 5(7)

4

to Rahane, FOUR, short and wide, punished. Rahane's eyes lit up on seeing the width, gets on top of the bounce and flays it over cover. Don't bother running

4

Joseph to Rahane, FOUR, short and Rahane is onto it in a flash, swivels and pulls Rahane with unflinching authority, over square leg and four

4

Joseph to Rahane, FOUR, Joseph gets grumpy. Maybe he is not happy with himself. Another short ball and Rahane takes this backwards of square leg with another stunning pull

W

to Kohli, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Second successive failure for Kohli too. The moment he hit that, he knew he was going to be out, didn't even look at Jinks. Just waited for the keeper to complete the catch. It's that short ball again, and it's again. Fetches the pull from outside off, but could only manage a thick top-edge which swirls in the air for a decade, Hope wanders forward and nestles it in his gloves. Kohli c Shai Hope b 3(12)

4

Joseph to Rahane, FOUR, nutmegs Holder to the long-off fence! Rahane checks his drive, since there is lot of bottom hand power on it, the ball nearly carried to the Windies skipper. What's more worse is that the ball sneaks through his legs and into the fence

D

Joseph to Rahane, 1 run, droppped by Jason Mohammed. Rahane flicks this uppishly from around off-stump, a straightforward catch for the man at square leg, but he was caught napping. Straight in and straight out

4

Joseph to Rahane, FOUR, half-volley and Rahane drives him dead straight. Way too full, Rahane hits hard and hits it past the non-striker

4

Joseph to Rahane, FOUR, 138ks, pitched right up, Rahane hits the life out of that delivery, straight as a dye. Driving it like a pro, solid.

W

Joseph to Karthik, out Caught by Shai Hope!! DK's struggles comes to an end. Almost an action replay of Kohli's dismissal. Tries to take on the short ball, but all he manages is a big slice of top-edge. The keeper couldn't have asked for an easier catch than this. Barely moved. It zooms off after hitting the deck and the extra bounce Joseph produces was always going to be a concern. Karthik never looked home and his departure would have hurt him deeply more than anyone else. Karthik c Shai Hope b Joseph 2(19)

4

Bishoo to Rahane, FOUR, short again, Rahane doesn't miss out. Rockets back in his crease and thumps the pull past a diving mid-wicket fielder

OT

to Rahane, 1 run, 3rd fifty of the series! And 4th fifty plus score in the series. He has been in great touch. Some touch play here as well as he clipped it away with soft hands into the on-side for a quickly run single

W

Bishoo to Rahane, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Review taken by Rahane as he has been given caught behind. He went for a booming sweep and the keeper started appealing to which the umpire agreed. There seems to be a slight faint rise in the snicko, but the bat doesn't seem close to the ball. The third umpire has upheld the decision. That was close. The snicko showed a spike but it seemed from the other angle that the bat might not have been close to the ball as it passed by. But there was no real evidence to overturn the decision either and thus it was upheld. Rahane c Shai Hope b Bishoo 60(91) [4s-7]

W

to Kedar Jadhav, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Bat, pad, dive from the keeper and taken. The ball turned in and took the edge as the bounce did the batsman in. The keeper dived forward to his left to take a smart catch. India are in a spot of bother now! Windies will have to think wickets here, more of them. Kedar Jadhav c Shai Hope b 10(14)

4

Joseph to Hardik Pandya, FOUR, was he ducking? Or maybe last moment upper cut, upper glide to get it over the keeper. A boundary after 110 balls. That was risky. Extremely risky

4

Chase to Dhoni, FOUR, the quick hands and the trademark Dhoni paddle takes the ball fine to fine leg for a four. The runs need are less than fifty now and this is Dhoni's first four

6

Chase to Hardik Pandya, SIX, his heart must have been in his mouth! The slog sweep put into use and the man at deep mid hovered around the fence before realizing the ball was over him. India needed that

W

to Hardik Pandya, out Bowled!! Did I call it too early? That was a yorker, Hardik Pandya shuffles too much across the sticks and misses it for the base of the leg-stick to be rattled. India doesn't have the cushion of too many batsmen here. Hardik Pandya b 20(21) [4s-1 6s-1]

4

to Jadeja, FOUR, upper cut, the ball bouncing creeping on him helped him as the ball went well over the keeper for a four

OT

Williams to Dhoni, 1 run, push-drives it to long-off for him to get to his slowest fifty in ODIs. This has been one difficult knock for a maverick in this format. 24 off 23 now

W

to Jadeja, out Caught by Rovman Powell!! Jadeja and his selection of shots can be questionable at times. A slower delivery and the batsman looks to heave it but finds the man at long-on. India throw themselves into another hole. A needles slog and a wicket for the Windies to keep them alive. Jadeja c Rovman Powell b 11(11) [4s-1]

W

Williams to Dhoni, out Caught by Alzarri Joseph!! Slogs one straight to the man at long-on! Dhoni is gone. So, are India's chances. His misery with the bat have come to an end as well. This has been one knock which will be debated for a long time to come. That was length, on the sticks and heaved straight to long-on. India have their hopes dashed. Dhoni c Alzarri Joseph b Williams 54(114) [4s-1]

W

to U Yadav, out Bowled!! This was brilliant. Right up there, the batsman looks to slog and misses. India lose #9. In dire straits, they have contrived to lose here. has been the man. The leader leading from the front. An inch perfect yorker, that is what confidence does to you. India need a miracle from here. U Yadav b 0(1)

W

to Shami, out Caught by Roston Chase!! That is it. Windies win by 11 runs. A full toss and cracked straight to the man at cover. The Windies fans go delirious. This is a major upset. India only have themselves to blame. A fifer for . His first in ODIs and what a time to do it. Shami c Roston Chase b 1(2)

4

to Lewis, FOUR, poor delivery follow up delivery and is punished. Short and plenty of room provided outside off, Lewis does not bother to move his feet, stands his ground and flays it over cover-point

4

to Kyle Hope, FOUR, first runs for Hope. Took him 11 balls to open his account. Dragged down from and it sat up nicely for Hope, who swivels and pulls it to the left of the square leg umpire, raced away to the fence

6

Yadav to Lewis, SIX, first rns for Lewis against mesh. Has taken him 24 deliveries to do so. Short delivery and Lewis was waiting for it, almost premeditated the pll and smashed it over sqare leg. Hit the ad cshions on the fll

4

to Kyle Hope, FOUR, good use of the feet. He played it against the turn, but the key was getting to the pitch of the ball, once he did that, he could go across the line and wide of long-on. Much needed boundary

4

to Kyle Hope, FOUR, second time he's hit against the turn and over mid-wicket. Shimmies down and gets close to the pitch of the ball, then his power takes over to loft it handsomely to the deep mid-wicket fence

4

Pandya to Kyle Hope, FOUR, that is a good 'ol fashioned slog. Length delivery around off, Hope does not bother to get his front leg in line, keeps it away and swats it wide of mid-on. Umesh had no chance

W

Pandya to Kyle Hope, out Caught by Kedar Jadhav!! Something had to give as Hope was looking to accelerate, but a needless hit brings India their first wicket. He had struck a boundary off the previous ball and should have looked for a single this delivery, but that is inexperience for you. Shimmies down the wicket while giving himself room, wanted to go over mid-off, but the slow nature of the wicket did him in as he sliced it to sweeper cover. The ball was in the air for a long time allowing Jadhav to settle under it. Kyle Hope c Kedar Jadhav b Pandya 35(63) [4s-4]

4

Pandya to Lewis, FOUR, pressure releasing shot. The length is off-radar on the slower delivery, full enough for Lewis to get under that, lofts it through the line and over mid-off. Couple of bounces and into the fence

6

to Lewis, SIX, it's high and handsome! What a shot. Flat ball, a mini step out of the crease from Lewis and then clubs it down the ground for a mammoth six

W

Yadav to Lewis, out Caught by Kohli!! strikes in his first over. Where was he hiding all this time? Only Kohli can answer. The wrong 'un does the trick. Lewis is beaten oin the flight, doesn't pick the googly and steps out of his crease to go over mid-on. The ball takes the inside edge, brushes the pad and flies towards short mid-wicket, who takes a sharp, low catch. Lewis c Kohli b Yadav 35(60) [4s-2 6s-2]

4

to Shai Hope, FOUR, shot! That's Carribean flair. On the pads, Hope with his back leg off ground, flicks it handsomely behind square on the on-side

4

to Roston Chase, FOUR, must be seething and rightly. A push-drive down to long-off and Chase was just jogging through for a single. DK at long-off, makes a mess of it. Allows it to pass through the gates

4

Yadav to Roston Chase, FOUR, good shot! Premeditated shot used to good effect, gets low and fetches this ball from outside off to broom it through square leg. Good connection and Chase collects a boundary

W

Yadav to Roston Chase, out Bowled!! Same ground, same bowler, same ball, same shot and same result. That was the 3rd ODI and this is the fourth. That's the only difference. Chase had no clue whatsoever about this delivery. Nice flight that was drifting away. Chase thinks it is a leggie, moves leg-side and looks to whip it through the on-side. The ball tweaks away after pitching and hits the timber. Roston Chase b Yadav 24(34) [4s-2]

4

Yadav to J Mohammed, FOUR, this time Mohammed makes pay. Picks the length early, backs away deep in his crease and fiercely cuts it between mid-off and extra cover. Bulleted away

W

Pandya to Shai Hope, out Caught by Dhoni!! Edged and taken! A tame end to Hope's innings. A cross-seam delivery from Pandya from a short of length. Hope, in an attempt to run it down to third man, gets a faint outside nick that is gobbled up by a diving Dhoni who was also sporting a helmet. For the second time in as many matches, Pandya has dismissed the Hope brothers. Shai Hope c Dhoni b Pandya 25(39) [4s-1]

4

Pandya to Holder, FOUR, gloves the pull. The tennis ball like bounce cramping Holder up big time. Doesn't quite swivel as the ball lobs up and past the keeper. No stopping these

W

Yadav to Holder, ot Caght by Dhoni!! The misery amplifies. This time in the form of the skipper. A nothing delivery really. Slipping down leg with the angle and asking to be glanced away. Holder tries jst that, shffling inwards, only to tickle it into the hands of a diving Dhoni. Doesn't even bother distrbing the mpire into making the decision. Holder c Dhoni b Yadav 11(10) [4s-1]

OT

Yadav to Rovman Powell, no run, ahh, peach. Says a story in itself when Mahendra Singh Dhoni too struggles to pick it correctly. And then recovers to appeal. Was there a tickle? None if Powell is to be believed. Goes up in challenge. Okay here we go - nothing on the UltraEdge. And the ball is spinning rather viciously to turn well past the leg-stick on going past the missed flick that struck him in front of off. Powell survives to live on for another day. The original decision from umpire Gaffaney was for caught behind, but since there was no bat, the third umpire checked for a possible LBW

W

Yadav to Rovman Powell, ot Caght by Jadeja!! Why o why? Gets it 180-degrees to the opposite side of where he intended to take this. And an eqal nmber of yards shorter. Was the back of a length stff otside off and Powell stands looking to go across the line in heaving it away. Smoking it into the ocean to be fair-er. All he manages is the thick otside edge and a fly to a backtracking Jadeja from his sal backward point. Rovman Powell c Jadeja b Yadav 2(9)

W

Pandya to J Mohammed, out Caught by Jadeja!! And another. If Mohammed was touted to stage a lone recovery and smash a few around, it has to be some other day. A soft, soft dismissal and he steers it into the hands of backward point. Checks the shot on the width provided and ends up chipping his wicket away. Okay now the Windies are in serious danger of not playing out their quota. J Mohammed c Jadeja b Pandya 20(33) [4s-1]

W

Yadav to Nrse, ot Caght&Bowled!! The showman - mesh Yadav. He rns in, he bonces Nrse ot and he dives in his followthrogh too to plck ot a stnner. Nicely directed at serios pace, p on the nose and Nrse plls it away off the inside-edge. Rebonds onto the helmet and p for grabs. mesh recovers, rns to his right and pts in the dive jmping to his right. Nrse c and b Yadav 4(12)

W

to Devendra Bishoo, out Devendra Bishoo Run Out!! Jadeja and his dealing with the rocket launcher disguised in the form of an arm. The under-arm rocket launcher. Bishoo looks to sneak through after soft handing one to backward point, one region where you never take on the man. Is late in getting off the blocks too. Jaddu meanwhile lines up, waits, aims and breaks the middle of middle. Devendra Bishoo run out (Jadeja) 15(30)
