4

to Finch, FOUR, chops it to the boundary. That's raced away with the timing. errs on the shorter side, provides room and Finch has no troubles at all in dispatching it through point

4

to Finch, FOUR, too easy. The ball hasn't swung a great deal all tournament and that's what was trying for. Pitches it right up in the hope of outswing but strays on leg-stump and Finch glances him fine. Very crafty tickle actually

4

to Warner, FOUR, very streaky, but four. Don't think it was all that short, but Warner wants to pull it ferociously through mid-wicket. He gets lucky as the under-edge misses leg-stump and races away to the fine leg boundary

4

to Warner, FOUR, a one-legged whip through backward square, and this has been brilliantly timed. Short of length, just over waist high, and Warner gets his wrists over the ball beautifully

4

to Finch, FOUR, he picked that up and got into position very quickly. Short of length, Finch uses the pace and helps the pull backward of square. He was mindful of the fielder in the deep, who was at square leg, and played it to the right of him. One bounce and over the ropes

W

to Finch, out Lbw!! Finch plays back to a ball which skids through and nails him right in front. No question he should have been forward to that. Once he decided to stay in the crease, the skid which generates off a length hurried Finch rapidly and he was a goner. Finch lbw b 19(27) [4s-3]

4

to Smith, FOUR, plays it uppishly, but plays it in the gap. A bit casual from Smith there, at least that's the impression he gave. Half-volley outside off, the feet go nowhere and he just lazes the drive through cover. On replays, the shot looks much more in control and it's come right off the middle. Knew what he was doing and split the field perfectly

4

to Tamim, leg byes, FOUR, first runs. Up and running with a roll off the pad. Straying in line here is , getting it a tad too straight. On the pads, past the glancing attempt and into the fine leg ropes

4

to Tamim, FOUR, the dash of arrogance. The stamp of swagger. Nearly takes down Sarkar with this slap. Jumps down the track, in anger. Backs away in the same motion as well and hammers it down the ground. Talk about giving something one's all

4

to Tamim, FOUR, 143kph, a toe-ended drive. And the outfield coupled with 's pace does the rest. Walks forward in his drive and closes the blade too as he looks to force it in the gap past mid-on. Successfully

4

to Tamim, FOUR, cracks. Gets the friendly width with the shortened length to ally with and pounces on it like the hungry predator that he is. A rise on the toes with the bat horizontal as he cuts it away. Murderous

W

to Soumya Sarkar, out Caught by Wade!! The follow up is better. He did set Sarkar up in the earlier delivery pinning him deep in the crease, and reaps the rewards this time. Slightly wider, slightly shorter and forces him to have a flirt with the leather. Just that this one deviates to grope the edge and fly to a diving Wade to his left. The lack of feet the undoing. First blood drawn. Soumya Sarkar c Wade b 3(11)

W

Cummins to Kayes, out Caught by Finch!! Very soft. Very tame. Kayes refuses to commit to his drive. Sees the width and decides to go uppish with some sort of a loft. Only to have doubts in the end forcing him to check his shot with the ball zooming it at serious clicks. Does and ends up chipping it off the upper-outside half of the bat for cover-point to take a low grab. Kayes c Finch b Cummins 6(16)

W

to Rahim, out Lbw!! Pinned. Dead. Right in the front and Rahim doesn't bother himself or the third umpire with a review. He doesn't even entertain thoughts of one. Talk about seam-in, this one comes back in with the angle rather viciously trapping the falling over front leg and then ricocheting onto the back leg. The two noises there. And UltraEdge shows a spike while the ball passes the bat. Oh dear. Either the technology or Mushfiqur - someone needs an appointment with the psychiatrist. Hot Spot spots it too. Rahim lbw b 9(20)

4

to Shakib, FOUR, off and running. With a certain degree of disdain. Gets a freebie for help though - one sitter - too short, too wide. Jumps up and latches on it to flay it through point

D

to Shakib, 2 runs, dropped! Maxwell is the culprit. It came at a brisk pace, but still had to be taken. Shakib sees the width outside off and throws his bat hard at it. Gets good connection, but doesn't bother to keep it down. Maxwell is well in front of the 30-yard circle at backward point and makes a meal out of it. The batters run hard and come back for a quick second

6

to Tamim, SIX, shot! Probably the shot of the match. He charges down the ground, making room in the process to get underneath the ball. Then, tonks it to wide long-off for a maximum. Top shot!

4

to Tamim, FOUR, backs it up with a four. shortens his length, Tamim knew it was coming. Once again, puts the dancing shoes on and pulls it fiercely through the mid-wicket region

4

to Tamim, FOUR, 16 runs from the over. Easily done. Poor delivery from , still had to be put away. Leg-stumpish line and Tamim slightly moves across to tickle it down to the fine leg fence

OT

to Tamim, 1 run, 37th ODI fifty for Tamim Iqbal! Third score of 50+ in a row. Gets there by easing a drive down to long-on against a full ball

4

to Shakib, FOUR, good shot! Tailing away low full toss, Shakib gets low and slices it wide of point. Raced away into the fence. No chance for third man

6

to Tamim, SIX, brilliant shot! "Shot of the day so far," says Punter on air. Dances down the ground and creates room by backing away as well. Follows it with a stupendous lofted inside-out drive over extra cover for a maximum

6

to Tamim, SIX, another waltz down and this time Tamim hits it through the line. Tonks over long-off for six more

W

to Shakib, out Lbw!! Shakib is given out lbw and he straightaway reviews. Surely no bat. The only question is the impact. Fair delivery. Impact is umpire's call and hitting the stumps. Shakib has to go and this is a big wicket. The idea to persist with has worked. Seeing the batsman come down the track, the bowler fired in from a shorter length. There was no flight whatsoever. Shakib is cramped for room and fails to put bat on ball. He is pinged adjacent to the line of off-stump. Hitting middle of middle. Shakib lbw b 29(48) [4s-2]

4

Cummins to Tamim, FOUR, brilliant shot. There is backward square leg and there is fine leg as well. He doesn't bother to keep it down does Tamim. Gets into a good position moving off-side and then plays the pull shot to perfection. One bounce and over the long leg fence

W

to S Rahman, out Caught by Smith!! The plant-powered bowler strikes in his opening over. Where was he all this time? Only Smith can answer that. It was a tossed up delivery outside off, inviting Rahman to drive and he falls for the bait. He reaches out for that and goes hard on his drive. Doesn't keep it down and hits it straight into the bucket hands of the Australian skipper at short cover. S Rahman c Smith b 8(14)

6

to Mahmudullah, SIX, shot! Made it look so easy. Comes down the track, doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball, still goes on with his lofted on-drive. Makes good connection and adds six runs to his total by tonking it over long-off

W

to Mahmudullah, out Bowled!! No need to appeal for this. A very ordinary shot from the experienced Mahmudullah. It was pushed through quicker just outside off, probably the flipper. Mahmudullah backed away to cut it. Too close to be playing that and pays the price. Gets an inside edge that cannons onto the stumps. What a start for . Two overs - 2 wickets for just three runs. Mahmudullah b 8(11) [6s-1]

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, the wrong 'un that is off-radar. Going down leg, from a shortish length. Mehedi goes deep in his crease and pulls it fine eluding the man at 45 to collect his first boundary

W

to Tamim, out Caught by Hazlewood!! That's gut-wrenching for Tamim Iqbal. There won't be back to back hundreds for him. A short of length delivery, the ball cramps Tamim up and gets big on him and he sends a top-edge flying in the direction of fine leg. Really good catch from Hazlewood, running forward and diving - all the while keeping his eyes on the ball. Bangladesh in serious danger of being bowled out. Tamim c Hazlewood b 95(114) [4s-6 6s-3]

W

to Mortaza, out Bowled!! An absolute jaffa. Some of the very top batsmen in the world would struggle to keep that out, let alone Mortaza. It's only a slight adjustment in line from the previous ball. Slung in from wide, the ball tails away late, whizzes past the outside edge and cleans up leg-stump. Mortaza b 0(2)

W

to Rubel, out Bowled!! Two in two! Three unplayable balls in a row to follow the steepler to Tamim. That's how good he is at the death. Full, fast, bending away late from round the wicket and shatters off and middle as Rubel misses it by a mile. On a hat-trick now! Rubel b 0(1)

W

to Mehedi Hasan, out Bowled!! finishes with four. Bangladesh wrapped up for 182, as the drizzle continues to persist at the Oval. The same formula for at the death - full, swinging away late and shattering the stumps at gun speed. Mehedi drives inside the line of the ball due to the swing, as they all do. Good night! Mehedi Hasan b 14(26) [4s-1]
