to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, whose catch? It goes between the keeper and first slip! Soumya Sarkar played inside the line and got it off the edge off the shoulder of the bat. Saha was moving inside the line and was not in great position to catch that. Rahane, as we can see on replay was pretty wide there

W

to Tamim, out Caught by Kohli!! Big shout. Wilson is unmoved and Kohli wants to ascertain with the third umpire. Front foot is fine. But there is an inside edge from the front on angle. UltraEdge confirms it. India were first appealing for lbw (at least ) but Kohli had spotted the edge and referred it. The ball hit Tamim's inside edge and then deflected off his pad to the Indian skipper at second slip. strikes. Lot of confusion in that appeal. Some of the Indian players, including the keeper, was appealing for an lbw. Others, including Kohli, for the catch and guess which camp is right! Tamim c Kohli b 3(11)

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, serves Soumya Sarkar some width this time. And Soumya is not going to let that go unpunished. Throws his bat on the cut and finds the gap through cover

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, short ball. Sits up well and Sarkar is in position to pull it, sends it roaring through backward square leg

4

to Mominul, FOUR, wants to angle in a full ball but ends up being on the pads of Mominul, who shuffles across and clips through mid-wicket

4

to Mominul, FOUR, short and wide from round the wicket. Turn makes it all the more easy for Mominul, who goes back and cuts past cover

4

to Mominul, FOUR, chase for Pujara but he gives up as the ball races to the deep square leg fence. It was angling in from back of a length and Mominul shuffled across to tuck in the air but managed to put in the gap to earn a four

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, stays full but the line goes wrong. Sarkar is too elegant a player to miss out on freebies to display his left hander's glory. Leans into the drive and creams it past a flying cover

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, he's squared him up now. Some serious interrogation this. Sarkar has no clue, hangs back this time, keeps the bat out on the poke. And very fortunately gets the edge that flies just past the men in the cordon

OT

to Soumya Sarkar, no run, one that goes the other way. Was it off the footmarks? Or was there an inside edge? Too much happening here for the umpire to give that out. convinces Rahane, who in turn convinces Kohli to wake up the third umpire. The bat was on the drive away from the body. Okay here we go - clear daylight between the bat and the ball. The back foot too did not leave the crease for the stumping to come out right. NOT OUT it stays.

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, takes him on. What a way to welcome him into the attack. Down the track in a flash, not quite to the pitch of the ball either but goes through with his slam down past mid-on

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, fired in and cut away faster. Uses all of the pace and the marginal width outside off to line himself up and ramp his bat out in steering it behind square

OT

to Mominul, 1 run, a leaning push to mid-off. Ashwin is certainly not the quickest to prevent the quick single

W

to Soumya Sarkar, out Caught by Rahane!! A classical left armer's dismissal. Foxes Sarkar in with the flight, draws him forward and gets him to reach out in defence. The rip then comes into the picture. Turns away past the bat, just enough to kiss the outside edge. Rahane at slip follows it up with some brilliance - something we are more than accustomed to now. Stretches his right palm over and takes it as cleanly as you could get. Soumya Sarkar c Rahane b 42(66) [4s-7]

W

to Mominul, out Caught by Rahane!! Another one. This is some spin bullying. Absolute mastery tossing the ball up like on a string. Floats it up on leg, gets the cheeky litte crack and the ball takes off square. Squares up the batsman too in the process, takes the outside edge of the bat just meekly suspended in thin air and once again it is Rahane who applies the finishing touches. At slip of course. Mominul c Rahane b 27(63) [4s-3]

4

to Shakib, FOUR, gets the width. Gets the long hop. And he nails the cut. A rock deep into the crease and he slaps it away disdainfully

OT

to Shakib, no run, Shakib has been given the marching orders. But he challenges it as soon as the finger goes up. Was striding forward on the defence, and all the eleven on the field think that there was an inside edge onto the pad before ballooning to short leg. So did Wilson. Nothing on the snicko. And the ball was going way over the sticks for the LBW to be given. He survives

4

to Shakib, FOUR, goes short looking to surprise. Shakib isn't. Slaps it away with a room clearence. A slipping Umesh giving it the chase cannot keep it down

4

to Shakib, FOUR, brings out the slog. Seems the only way to turn the tables at the moment. Heaves off one knee across the line and gets a chunky part of the blade on it to take it on the bounce into the cow corner fence

4

to Shakib, FOUR, and he repeats himself. Gets the exact result. A lot more firmer in his connection this time. The slog falls just inside the ropes. Kohli pushes one man now at the fence. The gamble pays off for Shakib

W

to Shakib, out Caught by Pujara!! Gone! What a wicket that is for India. Early on. That is a top, top delivery. Nothing that Shakib could've done about it. One thing he could've done maybe was to get on the front foot, but the flatter trajectory didn't allow him to. Fired in quicker and bounces out of the rough, hits the glove, onto thigh pad and lobs to short leg. Very easy catch and strikes. So one of the Bangladeshi big fish has been taken out. Enter Rahim! Shakib c Pujara b 22(50) [4s-4]

4

Yadav to Mahmdllah, FOR, even thogh KL diving to his right at a widish slip got a hand on it. Coldn't prevent the bondary. mesh opened Mahmdllah p with one that went late off the seam, the edge went to grond and evaded the half-stop. Seems like KL has landed awkwardly on his ribs/stomach. Grimaces in pain as he sees the ball rn away to the third man fence

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, top edge and four. No danger as Mahmudullah gets it to the vacant backward square area. Knelt down and top-edged the sweep. Nearly went all the way, one bounce over the ropes. Kohli still appreciates the ball - saying "well bowled" a couple of times

4

to Rahim, FOUR, wants to get the close-in fielders out of the equation. So reverse-sweeps and does it well. Takes it from around leg and plays it to the vacant backawrd point region. Hit along the ground and gets four

OT

to Mahmudullah, 1 run, Rahim is slow and with a direct hit, he was gone. Not a wise move to take on Jadeja. Even though the ball was going wide of him. He covers ground so quickly and almost pulls off a sensational piece of fielding. Missed with his throw on the move, it was punched wide of cover and Jadeja just missed. Rahim was seen stretching to make it

6

to Rahim, SIX, short and down leg, Rahim pulls and gets six. A bit of a top edge but enough of it to clear long leg. Sails into the crowd. Mahmudullah likes that and is seen tapping his bat in appreciation. A word between the two as well

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, charges out and goes over mid-off. Sliced a bit but easily cleared the man. The idea is to stop from bowling to a set plan. Also to scatter the close-in fielders away. Good batting

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, and again goes over the top. Uses his feet and lofts. Not off the middle of the bat. But enough to clear mid-on. One bounce and over the ropes. Let's see what will do now. Two positive blows from Mahmudullah though

4

to Rahim, FOUR, lovely shot, Rahim doesn't want to settle, comes down the track, makes room as he did so and plays a cracking little inside out cover-drive, beats mid-off and rolls away to the fence

W

to Rahim, out Caught by Jadeja!! Oh dear! Rahim has thrown his wicket away, credit to - but that's a terrible terrible bit of cricket from the Bangladeshi captain. He puts his head down and walks away - will not want to see the replays. He came down the track, was looking to repeat the inside out drive. saw him coming, dropped his length slightly short and got it to hold in the air. Rahim wasn't there to the pitch of the ball, still went through with the lofted drive, ends up slicing it in the air and towards mid-off. RJ hopped back and takes a simple catch. gives Rahim a proper send-off, Bangladesh have lost a huge wicket. Rahim c Jadeja b 23(44) [4s-2 6s-1]

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, that's nicely played by Mahmudullah, should help him settle down. Dropped short by , he used the crease well, backed away and found the gap past point with the cut - doesn't bother to even run

OT

Yadav to S Rahman, 1 rn, back of a length and jst otside off, Sabbir pnched it to the left of cover-point and sets off for a qick single. As he neared the bowling crease, he got worried by RJ's throw, slipped and lost his bat in the process, a direct hit and that wold have been a weird way to get dismissed

4

Yadav to Mahmdllah, FOR, edged and for, streaky way to get to a half-centry, his first in 11 innings, bt this has been a fighting effort from Mahmdllah, went chasing after a fll and wide ball, got a thick edge that rolled away in the gap between slip and glly

4

to S Rahman, 4 runs, poor cricket all around, this was tossed up on off, Sabbir went for the ugly mow over mid-wicket, doesn't get hold of the shot and pops it towards RJ at mid-wicket. He has a shy at the bowler's end, can't back up in time and gifts four runs to Sabbir

6

to S Rahman, SIX, smashed, juicy full-toss from , Sabbir comes down the track and thumps it high and over long-on, went sailing all the way

4

Yadav to S Rahman, leg byes, FOR, more rns for Bangladesh and more extras to the total. Once again, mesh got this one to jag back in sharply, caght Sabbir on the hop, strck him high on the thigh-pad, lobs throgh the vacant first slip region. Hang on! Replays sggested that there was an inside edge onto the thigh-pad, there was no one at first slip, not sre if India wold have appealed either, no one looked too interested

4

to S Rahman, FOUR, Sabbir will not hold back, good footwork here, came down the track, got close to the ball and drilled it past the non-striker. Mahmudullah did well to get out of the way as the ball rolled away to the fence

4

Yadav to Mahmdllah, FOR, lovely shot, width on offer from mesh, Mahmdllah stands tall and cts it sqare behind point, beats the man in the ring and rolls away to the fence

4

to S Rahman, byes, FOUR, slipped down the leg-side. Sabbir wants to sweep and misses and so does Saha. The ball races away to the fine leg fence

4

to S Rahman, FOUR, flatter again and Sabbir does not hesitate. Goes back and cuts past backward point

OT

to S Rahman, no run, appeal for an lbw, not given. India review! Sabbir is beaten on the forward defence, no bat! UltraEdge confirms. Clipping leg on HawkEye so umpire's call. Get on with the game now. Sabbir stays. It was drifting on the legs of Sabbir and he missed the forward defence. India went upstairs because they will get it back in 10 overs time. Tactical move that from Kohli

W

to S Rahman, out Lbw!! Review? Bangladesh? Yes! But if there is no bat he is gone! Plumb for me. And he is. Fair delivery, hit in line on the back leg. And it is hitting middle of middle. Cannot get more out than this. This is 's reply. He does not miss out and gives Sabbir a send off. No stare this time. A bagful of emotions laced with words that cannot be typed here. It was a length delivery that kept a bit low on the stumps. And Sabbir by being on the back foot dug his grave there, was rapped low on the back leg, near the kneeroll, the umpire did not hesitate to raise his finger. Sabbir consulted his partner and referred it. S Rahman lbw b 22(61) [4s-2 6s-1]

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, edged and goes between the second slip and gully into the third man fence. Mehedi kept his hands soft as he prodded forward to defend. That helped him keep the edge low and into the ground

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, tossed up well outside off and Mehedi Hasan does not let that go! Leans a little and cracks the drive to the sweeper cover fence

W

to Mahmudullah, out Caught by Bhuvneshwar!! Ravi Shastri says, " Sharma deserves it." And I cannot agree more. This is 's wicket. He has machinated this. Set Mahmudullah up. What a short ball this one. Mahmudullah had to play at it. Right at his body and he tries one of those Nataraja pulls that takes his top edge and flies to Bhuvi at fine leg. The last specialized batsman departs and India are just three wickets away now. Mahmudullah c Bhuvneshwar b 64(149) [4s-7]

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, short and wide and Mehedi Hasan cuts hard, away from gully and picks up a four to the deep backward point fence. Welcome boundary but India won't mind that. They are not even thinking about that

D

to Mehedi Hasan, no run, Vijay drops a sitter at first slip. cannot believe it. Don't look at him, Vijay. It was a back of a length delivery in the channel, moved late and Mehedi Hasan poked at it. Got a thick edge and it carried into the laps of Vijay, who moved a bit to his right but could not grab it

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, that's a good shot! Overpitched this time and with mid-off in the ring, Mehedi Hasan takes his chance, lofts over the fielder's head

W

to Mehedi Hasan, out Caught by Saha!! strikes. And he does it in the form of a peach. To be fair, it would have consumed the best on the planet, Mehedi is only a teenager. Takes off one of those cracks outside the off-stump like a poisonous cobra and Mehedi, despite all his attempts to withdraw his bat out of the way, gets the faintest of nicks off the glove. Saha makes the catch look like a walk in the park. His 61-ball resistance ends. Mehedi Hasan c Saha b 23(61) [4s-4]

4

to T Islam, FOUR, heaves across the line. Across the turn. And in the air as well. Safely over mid-wicket and into the fence

W

to T Islam, out Caught by Rahul!! Loses his patience. And the fielders too seem to lose theirs in calling and taking the catch. Attempts a pull, rather unwittingly on seeing the short length. Swivels and swats flat bats the line, gets a top edge that flies high in the air to tease both men under the helmet near the bat to take it. Neither call. And in the end, Rahul uses his height in taking his palms higher and fetches it out of Vijay's. T Islam c Rahul b 6(24) [4s-1]

W

to Taskin Ahmed, out Lbw!! The umpires take matters upstairs. It is their review. Looking for a bump ball as Taskin looks to clip it away. So here we go on the slow mo - nothing off the bat. Just that it jammed the turf. And the ball missed it. Onto the pad. The third umpire flashes some greenery on the screen. All this for Kohli to flash a 'T' and keep him indulged further. Now the LBW is in check. Very full, and three reds. Uppal's decibels go off charts. India clinch another - should I say series. Taskin Ahmed lbw b 1(7)

4

Islam o Vijay, FOUR, lovely sho, aijul drifs one ono Vijay's pads, he leans forward, ges close o he pich of he ball and beas mid-wicke wih a lovely lile on-drive, Vijay is off and running wih ha boundary

W

Ahmed to Vijay, out Caught by Rahim!! Loose shot from Vijay, this was short and wide outside off - in normal times, Vijay would have been happy to let it go, but with runs needed quick and fast, he went chasing after it, gets a faint edge and it's grabbed by Rahim. turned around in an appeal, but Vijay had already made the decision easy for the umpire. Erasmus checks for a possible front-foot no-ball, but is fine on that count as well. Vijay c Rahim b Ahmed 7(14) [4s-1]

4

Islam o Pujara, FOUR, cracking sho, Pujara is off and running in syle, his was ossed up jus ouside off. Pujara jumped down he rack, go close o he ball and drills i hrough exra-cover for a boundary

4

Ahmed to Rahul, FOUR, that has been smashed, width on offer from , Rahul is quick to prods across and cracks it square on the off-side, races away to the fence in a hurry

W

Ahmed to Rahul, out Caught by Rahim!! Another nick and India have lost both openers now. This was short and wide outside off, Rahul was looking to steer it down towards third man, gets a healthy edge and it's another easy catch for Rahim. is ecstatic, these may be cheap wickets - but he will not care one bit. The umpire checks for a possible no-ball, but is fine on that count. Rahul c Rahim b Ahmed 10(17) [4s-1]

4

Ahmed to Kohli, leg byes, FOUR, lovely ball from . It was a surprise bouncer, hurried Kohli on the pull and beat him for pace, clipped his helmet and flew through the gap between the keeper and first slip

4

Ahmed to Pujara, FOUR, nicely played by Pujara, the width was there, he waited on it, got on top of the bounce, used 's pace and steered it past the slip cordon, beats the man in the deep as well

4

Ahmed to Pujara, FOUR, too full and too straight from , ends up offering a floaty half-volley, Pujara leans forward, didn't play with a straight bat - it was slightly angled, got a good chunk of wood and the ball raced past the non-striker, no need to run for those

4

Islam o Kohli, FOUR, lovely hands from Kohli, wasn' shor by any means, jus a hin of widh. Kohli wais on i, brings his ba down, beas he lone slip and rolls away o he hird man boundary

4

Ahmed to Pujara, FOUR, lovely shot, it was a half-volley from , Pujara gets forward, gets close to the ball and sends it scurrying through the vacant extra-cover region, no one moved

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, that's easy pickings for Kohli, short and wide from . Kohli stands tall and punches it over cover, no need to run for those

6

Ahmed to Pujara, SIX, Pujara knew it was coming, banged in short and on the stumps. Pujara gets inside the line and helps it on its way, sailed over the head of the fielder at fine leg. Pujara has a smile on his face as he nods his head at his skipper

6

to Kohli, SIX, and finally those wrists earn him the result he wanted. Skips down the track and flicks off the bottom hand over mid-wicket. The ball only just clears the fence

W

to Kohli, out Caught by Mahmudullah!! And Kohli goes! Big wicket! Bangladesh are delighted. But given the context of the game, the approach from the skipper was justified. He skipped down and perhaps got too close to the ball, wanted to flick over mid-wicket but did not quite get the elevation. The man at short mid-wicket reverse cups it rather easily. Kohli c Mahmudullah b 38(40) [4s-2 6s-1]

D

to Rahane, no run, takes it on the full after dancing down the track and hits it to the right of , who fails to latch on. Will go down as a drop

4

to Rahane, FOUR, fraction short and latches on. Goes back and pulls through square leg, was in the air for a while but away from the men in that region

4

to Rahane, FOUR, slogs! And slogs well. Uses the drift from and sends it over the man at mid-wicket. A couple of bounces and into fence

6

Hasan to Rahane, SIX, Rahane skips down and sees that the length is not quite there. Does not bring about a change in his approach, swings across the line and sends it over the cow corner for a maximum

W

to Rahane, out Bowled!! All that bowling in T20 matches has made a smart customer and he knows how to handle a batsman looking to send everything out of the ground. For a while now Rahane was stepping down too early and did not change his approach this time as well. Was too early into his ugly hoick. slowed down the pace and cut the length to beat the former's bat. Middle-stump is uprooted! Rahane b 28(35) [4s-2 6s-1]

4

to Jadeja, FOUR, Mehedi Hasan at deep mid-wicket drops a sitter! It was coming straight towards him but he over-runs it and lets it burst through his fingers. Jadeja swung across the line and the angle which was leaving him messed his timing. Miscued it high in the air and for a moment the fielder seemed to be under control but let the bowler down

6

to Jadeja, SIX, this is off the meat of the bat and this is far straighter. Goes over long-on. Was much fuller and on the stumps. Jadeja cleared his front leg a bit and clubbed it over the fence

4

Hasan to Pujara, FOUR, Pujara dances down the pitch and is right on the top of the ball, flicks with the turn through mid-wicket

4

to Pujara, FOUR, Pujara is patient to this length ball around off, late cuts past the man at backward point and picks up a four. Back to back fifties for him

4

to Tamim, FOUR, just before this ball asked Kohli to move to extra cover from third slip and that is exactly where this ball goes. Tamim was pushing off the back foot, got a thickish edge that went through that vacant region and raced to the third man fence

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, first confident four of the innings and it has come off Soumya's bat. Plonked his front foot forward to this length ball that was slightly fuller than what had bowled so far. Met the ball with the meat of the blade and found gap through cover

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, straying on the pads and there is no movement as such. Soumya Sarkar gets across and helps the flick through backward square leg

4

to Soumya Sarkar, FOUR, short ball outside off and with no third man, that is asking for trouble. Soumya Sarkar arches back a touch and upper cuts over the slip cordon. A couple of bounces and into the fence

4

to Tamim, FOUR, flashed hard in the air and away from Jadeja at point. There was width on offer and Tamim went with hard hands, never intended to keep it down and carved it away to the fence

4

to Tamim, FOUR, 's deception does not work as Tamim leans forward to this half-volley and bisects mid-off and extra cover with a majestic drive

W

Yadav to Somya Sarkar, ot Caght by Saha!! And Kohli reviews. mesh was not that interested bt the skipper heard something. Even Saha was not sre. Fair delivery. And it seems to have missed everything. Nothing on the front-on angle. Hold on! Wait! What is that? It has kissed the bottom edge. Is there anything that Kohli cannot do? Ot of more than 12000 people, inclding the players, only he thoght there was an edge and he is dead right. Peach of a delivery from mesh. Beat Somya Sarkar's booming drive. That is what we thoght. There was no real appeal from the Indian side bt Kohli had other ideas. Good catch from Saha, diving to his right. His view was blocked by the batsman bt did well. Somya Sarkar c Saha b Yadav 15(31) [4s-3]

W

to Mominul, out Tamim Run Out!! 1 run completed. What a goof-up! And a waste of a wicket. Just have a look at Tamim's reaction after getting run-out. Has a long stare at his partner before slowly trudging off. Hesitation while taking the second after tucking it to Umesh at deep backward square, Mominul wasn't sure about the second, stopped when he saw Umesh converging on the ball, that forced Tamim also to stop. A bullet throw back to the bowler and does the rest. So easy and why would you take on Umesh's rocket arm from the deep and mind you - it wasn't an easy two as well. Would've been always tight, even without the hesitation. India won't mind the offer of a free wicket though. Replays show that if Umesh had thrown it to Saha, Mominul would've been gone as well. Both batsmen stranded in the middle of the pitch at one point. Tamim run out (U Yadav/) 24(53) [4s-3]

4

to Mominul, FOUR, just clears a leaping Che at mid-wicket! Mominul didn't get hold of the pull. Hurried by the short ball and cramped for room. Gets lucky as it went to Che - not the most athletic of the Indian fielders. Che tried his best, but didn't even get a fingertip. The ball rolls to the fence

4

Yadav to Mahmdllah, FOR, goes wide of the crease and bowls fll on the stmps, eased past the stmps and eldes the slide of Ishant at mid-on. Kohli from mid-off, rnning back can't pll the ball back in. Mahmdllah gets off the mark with a nice drive

OT

to Mahmudullah, no run, will India review this? Yes they are. Looks tight on the no-ball. Chris Gaffaney - the third umpire is having a close look at the front foot. He reckons there is just a part of the heel behind the line. So we move on. Now UltraEdge. Nothing on that. Ball tracking next. Umpire's call. And Mahmudullah will survive. India lose a review. The ball shaped back in a long way and trapped Mahmudullah on the shuffle, he fell across and missed the flick, impact on leg stump and just clipping the leg stump. So since it is not out, Mahmudullah will continue batting on. Kohli had a chat with and Saha before going for it, initially looked like an inside edge onto the pad as there were two sounds, but that wasn't the case

4

Yadav to Mahmdllah, FOR, well played. Played it late and opened the face on that to direct it wide of second slip. No third slip or third man and it raced away. Mahmdllah got on top of the bonce and steered it late

W

Yadav to Mominl, ot Lbw!! Joel Wilson takes his time and gives it ot. And Mominl walks. Doesn't want to waste the review. Did have a word with Mahmdllah who mst have told him that it was dead. Rapped on the back leg and low - in-line too, what else do yo want as a bowler. Beatiflly crved in the air and rshed past the drive of Mominl. Once it pitched in line, then it was crashing into the stmps. Good call from Wilson and Bangladesh have lost their third. Mominl can't atone for his error in rnning Tamim ot. He follows his partner back to the pavilion with a low score. Mominl lbw b Yadav 12(36) [4s-1]

4

Yadav to Shakib, leg byes, FOR, phew! mesh wants a review bt Saha tells Kohli that it is too high and he is right. They don't go for it. The ball pitched in line again and rshed throgh Shakib, beaten for pace and hrried was Shakib on the back foot block. Late in getting his bat down and the ball strikes him jst above the kneeroll. Only qestion was height there and the ball lands in front of first slip and rns away to the fence

4

Yadav to Shakib, FOR, high fll toss, pacy and Shakib throws his bat at that. Slices it away to the deep point fence

4

Yadav to Shakib, FOR, when it is otside off and width provided, Shakib will go for it. Carves it over point and got enogh bat on it to get a bondary. Good positive blow

4

Yadav to Shakib, FOR, releases the pressre with a good shot. Saw the width otside off and lashed ot. Timed the drive and got it wide of mid-off. mesh went for the change-p and Shakib got a welcome bondary

4

Yadav to Mahmdllah, FOR, third man is vacant and Mahmdllah gets for. Dabbed that wide of second slip and it raced away. The ball moved away late off the seam and Mahmdllah played it well

4

to Shakib, FOUR, smashed very hard and right through 's hands. Takes some doing that. Shakib saw the tossed up delivery and hit it right back at who hardly had time to react. Before he could get the hands up, the ball was through them. Normally so good off his bowling, but that shot was too good even for him. Will go down as a dropped chance

4

to Mahmudullah, FOUR, that's an ugly cross-batted swipe from Mahmudullah, but it will get him a boundary. Went down half-way on the sweep and fetched the ball from outside off, beats square leg and rolls away to the fence

W

to Mahmudullah, out Lbw!! Mahmudullah has been given out LBW and he wants a review. Literally coaxed his partner into agreeing for the DRS. Fair delivery, there's a daylight between bat and pad, UltraEdge confirms it, struck a bit high on the back-leg, but the impact is umpire's call. Mahmudullah is OUT. has struck in his first over and it's the pacers who are doing all the damage for India. This one nipped back in sharply and caught Mahmudullah in the crease as he prodded forward, burst past his inside edge and struck him above the knee-roll. But more importantly, the first point of impact was the back-pad, the ball didn't have a lot to travel, Hawk-Eye suggested that it was going to hit the bails, enough for umpire Wilson's call to stay. Mahmudullah lbw b 28(57) [4s-4]

4

to Shakib, FOUR, Shakib brings out the slog sweep and gets it over the head of the man at mid-wicket, this was tossed up wider of off, allowing Shakib to play the shot he did

OT

to Shakib, no run, loud shout for LBW and India will review. was saying that there was no bat, it's a fair delivery, looks like the ball has missed the bat completely. UltraEdge confirms it as well, but there's a lot of bounce on this track and the ball is going over the stumps. India have lost both reviews now. Lovely ball from , pitched on middle, drew Shakib forward and straightened enough to beat the frailing bat. Struck him in front of off, but the height was always an issue

4

to Rahim, leg byes, FOUR, banged in short and on Rahim's body, he dropped one hand off the handle as he fended at that, missed and the ball brushed his pads on its way to the long leg boundary

4

to Rahim, FOUR, lovely shot, banged in short and just outside off, Rahim allows the ball to pass him, then ramps it with a horizontal blade, clears the keeper and rolls away to the fence

4

to Shakib, FOUR, .. and Shakib pierces the gap with a beautiful off-drive, leant into a well pitched up delivery, got on top of the bounce and found the gap between two men placed for the drive on the off-side, no need to run for those

4

to Shakib, FOUR, edged and four, on a good length and in that channel outside off, Shakib was prodding forward on the defensive push, gets a healthy edge that rolls away in the gap between second slip and gully

4

to Rahim, FOUR, drifts this one down the leg-side, it was the carrom ball once again - but the line was wrong. Rahim went down low, got on top of the bounce and swept it fine

4

to Shakib, FOUR, cracking shot, full and wide from , Shakib got a big stride forward, gets right to the pitch of the ball, an extended elbow precedes the shot and sends it scurrying through the vacant extra-cover region

4

to Shakib, FOUR, Shakib is fighting fire with fire, width on offer from , he waits on it and comes down very late, beats the fielder at backward point and rolls away to the fence

4

to Shakib, FOUR, lovely shot, Shakib is in a hurry here, brings up his fifty as well, counter-punch from the Bangladesh all-rounder. floated one wider outside off, Shakib came down the track, had to reach out as the ball was wider, drills it wide of cover and brings up a boundary

OT

to Shakib, 1 run, appeal for a run-out. Has the dive saved Rahim? Or is the bat in the air? This is very close, a direct hit would have had him short. This is still very close. Chris Gaffaney is having several looks, will the benefit of doubt go to Rahim? Is the bat on the line when the bails have been removed? Doull says it's OUT, but Gaffaney says it's NOT OUT. This was very close, but I think the right call has been made. But what was Rahim doing there? He wasn't aware of the situation and had to hurry as Shakib called him for a quick single. The throw from RJ was accurate, Saha whipped the bails off, but the dive just about saved him. The bat edge might have just crossed the popping crease, even as the rest of it hung in the air

OT

Yadav to Shakib, 1 rn, qick work from RJ and he hits the stmps this time arond, bt Rahim is SAFE. Good rnning from the Bangladeshi pair, Rahim was the man who called for a qick single after Shakib had dabbed it in front of point. RJ was qick on the ball and hit the stmps at the striker's end, bt Rahim was easily home. The third mpire has a look

4

Yadav to Rahim, FOR, lovely shot, fll and wide from mesh, Rahim waits on it, gets a good stride forward and caresses it past cover. The timing is sblime and the ball rolls away to the fence in a hrry

4

to Shakib, FOUR, and his struggles getting the first wicket. Gives the ball just that little bit of air, ends up guiling it very full and Shakib jumps on it, literally. Smashes it straight down the ground

4

to Rahim, FOUR, it was only a matter of time. With Rahim set at the crease dishing out width expecting him to drive in the air certainly wasn't quite the right move from Ash. He does drive, in fact he drills it through the covers

4

Yadav to Shakib, FOR, all the left hander's elegance rolled p in this one. ses Yadav's pace as the ball gets close to him and drives it on the rise, throgh the covers. Holds the pose to make it even more glorios

4

Yadav to Shakib, FOR, way too wide. He's not qite getting the venom of his first spell. A half volley to aid it as well. All the time for Shakib to lean into the drive and hammer it past the lrking fielder at extra cover

4

to Shakib, FOUR, floated up further wide, this time Shakib's isn't going to miss out. Flays the slice away from his body and with enough room to free his arms carves it pretty square

4

to Rahim, FOUR, the 100-run partnership comes up. And in some style. Uses all of 's fired in pace as he waits for the ball to get right close outside off and ramps his bat accordingly to dab it past slip

4

to Rahim, FOUR, Mushy and his sweeps. They've made some statement today. Isn't afraid in going against the spin, which is neutralized by the stride forward. Nailed in front of square this time

W

to Shakib, out Caught by U Yadav!! and his 14th over. Statistics prove that he takes his first wicket after his 14th over on an average and he does just that today. #249 for the big man and he is well and truly marching his way to pouching the record for the fastest to 250 Test scalps. Surely helped by Shakib charging unwittingly down the track, getting too close for comfort and chipping it in the air with a tonk. Miscued all ends up and it balloons safely down the throat of mid-on. Shakib c U Yadav b 82(103) [4s-14]

4

to S Rahman, FOUR, now Rahman tries to slog. Sees a bit of flight and commits himself early into the lofted heave. Barely manages some chunk on the toe end. The bat rolls in his palms as well to make matters worse. Enough elevation and distance to get it to roll into the long-on fence

4

to S Rahman, FOUR, converts a drag down into a rank one. And gives himself the room he wanted too to free his arms on the flay. With all that, cuts it away in front of square

W

to S Rahman, out Lbw!! A dead duck. Absolutely plumb. Well to my bespectacled eye. Pitched in full on middle and Rahman rather compulsively goes for the sweep. Obviously misses and the the thigh pad bears the brunt. Spins away conventionally and straightens just enough to go through. Rahman wants the review, pleads but Mushy asks him to keep walking. Okay here's the replay - oh my. It hits the front pad before going to the back one. Me and my naked eye. S Rahman lbw b 16(35) [4s-2]

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, out comes the drag down. A rocked back stride and cut away hard. Not quite in control, but enough of the meat to get it to race square of the wicket

4

Yadav to Mehedi Hasan, FOR, a jicy fll toss. Ponced on it with a free flowing drive. Sinks on a knee as well to hold the pose. The reversing yorker missed by a cool few inches

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, short delivery decking in at a good height. Mehedi Hasan stands up tall, rolls his wrists over the ball and cuts it past the man at point for a four. The ball went racing away behind square for it to be the first runs of the session

OT

to Rahim, 1 run, gets to his 16th Test fifty! Barring the horror piece of running between the wickets, this has been a mature knock from the skipper. Has looked good. That delivery was on the pads and turned away nicely for a single

4

Yadav to Mehedi Hasan, FOR, slashes and gets the otside half of the blade to get it over the cordon for a for. No one there and it was always going to be safe. Poor delivery and was pt away with a fll fling of the arms into the shot

4

to Rahim, FOUR, finally a four after some time! That was knocked away behind square off the pads and Jadeja at long leg moved to his left but failed to flick the ball back in as the momentum of the ball got the better of him

4

to Rahim, FOUR, loosener from . Bowls wide of off. Rahim latches onto it and helps the cut past the gully region. Third man is unmanned and it races away

4

to Rahim, FOUR, some shot from Rahim. Too full a delivery around off and Rahim leans into it and just pushes past extra cover. The ball's pretty new and it scurries to the fence

4

Yadav to Mehedi Hasan, FOR, Mehedi Hasan throws his bat at this widish delivery. Gave it all and that helps him take it over Rahl at slip. Did not have mch time to react, it was travelling qickly and was pretty high as well

4

to Rahim, FOUR, sweep to the rescue. There's a square leg so Rahim is fancying his chances. Was in the air but did well to bisect the two fielders in the deep

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, just before this ball Rahim was seen having a word with Mehedi. Not sure this is what Rahim advised him to do. He steps down seeing the flight from and swings over mid-wicket. A couple of bounces and into the fence

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, slightly opens the face of the bat. There is not much turn for and hence Mehedi can afford to go against the turn, places it between cover and point to pick up the second four of the over

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, what a shot! To go against the turn against the best spinner in the world is just top class. Used his feet to meet the pitch of the ball and then drove past mid-off to his left

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, there's a huge gap at extra cover and that encourages Mehedi to go against the turn on the drive. Also the length helping his cause there, stays a bit towards the leg-side to free his arms and ends the over with a four

4

to Mehedi Hasan, FOUR, fifty for Mehedi in his first Test in India. Sanjay M tells us he is the youngest Bangladeshi to hit a fifty against India in Tests. Was a flighted ball well outside off. Mehedi used the width and cut it past the man at backward point and found the fence

4

to Rahim, FOUR, good shot this from Rahim. Uses the pace from the bowler and dabs it past point. Played it so late and was able to place it to perfection

4

to Rahim, FOUR, mind games from India. bowls a short one and even though Rahim is not in full control of the pull shot, he manges to put it through square leg. 3000 runs for him in Tests, 4th from his country to get there

W

to Mehedi Hasan, out Bowled!! What a sight that is for and India. The leg stump has gone flying. Ravi Shaz on air was just saying that needs to up his pace, just before the ball and he did just that. Lovely reverse-swinging delivery, with the shine on the inside and moving in at pace. Went past the bat and knocked leg stump out. End of a gritty knock from the talented Mehedi Hasan - who has shown oodles of talent, composure and potential with the bat. Definitely one to watch out in the future. Batted way beyond his years. But India get the start they wanted this morning. Mehedi Hasan b 51(107) [4s-10]

OT

to T Islam, no run, a waste of a review. and Saha got that wrong. Kohli asked them both whether it pitched in line with the stumps, both nodded yes and said that it pitched around leg. It didn't. Outside leg and there goes the review. Pitches outside leg and raps Taijul on the pads

4

to T Islam, FOUR, and right through the gap now. Immense frustration for India and . Taijul backed away and guided it between second slip and gully. Expertly placed. Races away to the third man fence

4

Yadav to T Islam, FOR, and he gets for. With a controlled pll. Wide of the leg glly and no-one behind that man and it rns away for a for. sefl rns and played from the stmps too

W

Yadav to T Islam, ot Caght by Saha!! End of Taijl. He lasted for 38 balls. Bt eventally the short one gets him ot. Dcked nder that one, bt had the gloves hanging in the air, didn't drop his hands down in time and it kissed the bottom hand glove and nestled in Saha's mitts. Taijl was happy to walk off even as Erasms had his finger raised. Smiles from the Indian camp. They will be relieved to have ended this gly innings from the tailender. T Islam c Saha b Yadav 10(38) [4s-2]

6

to Rahim, SIX, top edge and six. has his hands on his head. He can't believe that it has gone all the way. Early into the pull to a short one on the stumps, gets lucky as a big top edge spirals over the backtracking Umesh at long leg. Into the nineties now

OT

to Rahim, no run, given not out for a caught behind. India immediately review. They are very confident. Wilson thought about it and shook his head. Looks very close to the glove. Waiting for UltraEdge. "That looks like just armguard" says Chris Gaffaney from the third umpire's chair. Not out it is. "Great decision" praises Gaffaney and India now don't have anymore reviews for the rest of the innings. It was short and down leg, Rahim pulled and missed. Was close to the bottom glove, but missed it and hit the armguard. What a brilliant decision by Wilson, though it must be said that Rahim helped him out, by gesturing that it came off the armguard. Rahim survives

4

Yadav to Rahim, FOR, what a moment. And Rahim doesn't realise it. He is not sre and only reacts very late. Flashes the widest smile possible. Is hgged by Taskin Ahmed. What an effort from the pint-sized man. Probably the best batsman in this side. Always pts a price on his wicket. And is a fighter to the core. A wonderfl player as well. Fifth Test hndred. Got there cortesy a misfield by Ishant at long leg. It was flicked to his right and he fmbled on the dive. The ball trickled away to the ropes. Appreciated by his mates too

4

to Rahim, FOUR, superb shot. Down the track in a jiffy and thrashed past mid-off. Got to the pitch and put it away. Knows the field is up and took full toll of it. Hit all along the ground as well

6

to Rahim, SIX, and follows it up with six more. This is aggressive batting. still flighted this one after the last ball. But Rahim again used his feet and slugged it across the line. Got good willow on that to clear the cow corner fence

OT

to Taskin Ahmed, no run, will Taskin Ahmed review? Yes he does. After a chat with Rahim. Given out caught behind by Wilson. Nothing on UltraEdge. "Joel you got to reverse your decision, that has hit his pad" informs Gaffaney from the third umpire's slot. Taskin stays. First one that Wilson has got wrong in this match - as far as I can remember out of the top of my head. Floated up outside off, drew Taskin into the big drive, the bat hit the pad and that was the noise produced. And the ball missed the outside edge. India were very confident and so was Wilson, but DRS proves its worth

4

to Taskin Ahmed, FOUR, edged and four, this was tossed up just outside off, Taskin was looking to swing it over mid-wicket, gets a thick outside edge, lobs over slip and rolls away to the fence

W

to Taskin Ahmed, out Caught by Rahane!! Edged and caught! Rahane made it look easy at first slip, but the ball was travelling. This was pushed through quicker and just outside off, went straight on after pitching. Taskin was pressing forward in defence, might have played for the turn - hence played slightly inside the line, the outside edge is found and it flies to Rahane at slip. He doesn't drop those and India are just one wicket away from finishing Bangladesh's fight in the first innings. Taskin Ahmed c Rahane b 8(35) [4s-1]

4

to Rahim, FOUR, cheeky and effective, Rahim made his intentions clear very early, exposed his stumps as he went down on the lap sweep. saw the movement and fired one at the leg-stump, Rahim uses the pace on the ball and helps it past leg slip. Rahane chases from slip but the ball beats him to the fence

4

to Rahim, FOUR, lovely shot, Rahim comes down the track, gets close to the pitch of the ball and belts it back past the bowler. No chance for the man at long-off

W

to Rahim, out Caught by Saha!! 250 wickets for in Tests, this is his 45th Test and he becomes the fastest bowler to do so. That's some achievement by the Indian off-spinner, he can take a break now as India have decided not to enforce the follow-on. Coming to the ball, this was a carrom ball, the line wasn't right, slipped it down the leg-side, Rahim was looking to play the fine sweep, the ball bounced a bit, caught his glove and it's a neat catch by Saha - moving across to his left. Bangladesh have been bowled out for 388, that's a first innings lead of 299 for India. Rahim c Saha b 127(262) [4s-16 6s-2]

W

Ahmed to Rahul, out Bowled!! Gone! "This is a lazy shot" reckons Sunny Gavaskar on air. Out comes the imaginary aeroplane celebration from Ahmed - both arms stretched wide and sideways. Full and outside off, there for the cover drive, but the feet didn't move at all and the inside edgde ricocheted off pad and then onto the stumps. A bit unlucky, but that's how it rolls. Rahul goes for a low score and the early wicket that the visitors were looking for is found. Rahul's eyes must have lit up when he saw the boundary opportunity, but the angled bat on the drive proved to be his undoing. Rahul b Ahmed 2(4)

4

Islam to Pujara, FOUR, four through gully. Full and outside off, inviting the drive, Pujara obliges and plays the square drive, to the right of gully and beats backward point too. No third man and it raced away

4

Islam to Vijay, FOUR, too early into the pull, and that's why it took the glove and went wide of Rahim. And into the fine leg fence. Dug in short and leg-sidish, Vijay is expecting the ball to hurry onto him, it isn't doing so, especially off Islam. The ball misses the bat and takes some glove on the way. After the boundary, Vijay is seen practicing the pull again

4

Sarkar to Pujara, FOUR, too easy for Pujara. Gets a friendly half-volley on the pads and flicks it away with elan. Had to hit the gap and did so wide of mid-on

4

Islam to Vijay, FOUR, nothing short ball, down leg, with fine leg square, Vijay pulling it away with no trouble and beating the fielder with ease

4

Islam to Vijay, FOUR, dismissive. Vijay channels his inner Gordon Greenidge and puts it away. Again the short ball has no venom to test Vijay, the front leg kicks up and he swats that through backward square leg, giving fine leg no chance. Ensured he played it down too

4

Islam to Pujara, FOUR, inviting full delivery outside off and Pujara doesn't miss out. Thrashed past Islam's left hand and mid-off is too wide to even have a chance of stopping that

4

Hasan to Pujara, FOUR, deliberate open face and the ball flies wide of the outstretched right-hand of slip. Who dived to catch that, but didn't even get a fingertip on it. It went straight on outside off and Pujara had opened the face to play. Raced away after going past slip

4

Hasan to Vijay, FOUR, and again. This time the edge eluding slip and going wide of the fielder. Vijay misjudged the length and the trajectory of that, went back and it skidded on straight, Vijay dabbed that to Shakib's right. Went low and wide of him. Another lucky boundary. Hasan shouldn't be too disheartened that it didn't go to hand. The ball was always dying on Shakib

4

Islam to Vijay, FOUR, there is no third man and Vijay has lashed out at it. Short and wide outside off, carved over backward point. Rubbish ball

OT

Hasan to Vijay, 1 run, goodness gracious! Rahim is flabbergasted. What a chance for a run-out. And Rabbi despite doing all the hard work, lets everyone down with a poor throw. Tucked to his left at square leg and he dived full-length to cut it off, then lobbed a throw in front of the bowler which wasn't good enough. couldn't get it back onto the stumps as he fumbled the collection. Pujara again racing across like a headless chicken. Vijay wasn't so sure, he wanted the ball to cross the fielder. In the end, both were at the same end and the latter gets back, courtesy that throw - when at one point, he tried getting back into his own crease, then after seeing Pujara cross him, had to go to the other end. Lots of screeching, shouting and bellowing from the Bangladeshis - all to no avail. What a miss and Vijay breathes a sigh of relief. Worst running though it must be said!

4

Ahmed to Vijay, FOUR, ahh those wrists. And the square drive employed. Width on offer after deciding to go back to the fuller length, - exactly what Vijay wanted. Waits for the ball to get right close to him and puts his wrists to some use in punching this one very late and very square

4

Islam to Pujara, FOUR, nicely played by Pujara, fraction short and the width was there on it, Pujara jumps across and cracks it in front of square on the off-side, two men give chase, but the ball beats them to the rope

4

to Vijay, FOUR, lovely shot, Vijay raises his fifty as well, this was tossed up well outside off, Vijay gets forward, drives it on the up and finds the gap through cover, no need to run for those. Got his left leg out of the way, that allowed for a free swing of the arms, kept it all along the carpet

4

Islam to Vijay, FOUR, Rabbi had two men in the deep for the short ball. Vijay didn't bother to keep it down either - luckily for him, he found the gap to perfection with the pull as well, split the two fielders at backward square leg and deep square leg to perfection. Rabbi has his hands on his head

4

Islam to Vijay, leg byes, FOUR, wrong line from Rabbi, strays onto Vijay's pads, he was looking to flick and missed, the ball rolled away off his pads and to the fine leg boundary

OT

Islam to Pujara, 1 run, nicely played by Pujara, raises his fifty as well, his 12th in Tests. This was a good length delivery just outside off, he waited on it, played with an open face and runs it towards third man

4

to Vijay, FOUR, that's a rare bad ball from , dropped it short and wide of off, Vijay backed away on the cut, gets a thick outside edge that rolls away behind square on the off-side, no need to run for those

6

to Vijay, SIX, cracking shot, that was in his arc and Vijay doesn't let them go unpunished. This was tossed up on the off-stump line, Vijay gets forward, swings through the line and sends the ball soaring over the long-off fence

4

Hasan to Pujara, FOUR, too easy. A half tracker of a freebie from and Pujara is too good to let these go by unpunished. Rocks deep, swivels and pulls it past a ducking short leg

OT

Hasan to Pujara, 1 run, the partnership just keeps flowering. 150 up now in their kitty. Thanks to a nudge, rather soft past mid-wicket

4

Islam o Pujara, FOUR, goes shor. Jus wha Pujara waned. And he slowness of Uppal allows Pujara all he ime o use he deph of he crease, open himself up, adop he line and smash i wih an across he line swa

4

Hasan to Pujara, FOUR, takes it on the half-volley. Three men in the on-side and Pujara's surgical precision gets it to trisect all three of them. The narrowest of gaps and after he gets to the pitch of the delivery, whips it to give them a sight of the bullet past them

4

Hasan to Vijay, FOUR, the away slanter from round the wicket. Free runs these with barely a soul behind square. Short, asking to be cut and not disappointed. Late and creamed with the placement past the lone slip

4

Hasan to Pujara, FOUR, nothing going right for . A half tracker and Pujara takes it on. Opens himself up and smashes it with a swat down the ground. Free runs these

W

Hasan to Pujara, out Caught by Rahim!! A juggler. And Mushy doesn't miss out. Completely against the run of play. switches back to over the wicket, his preferred angle and the very first ball gets it to drift away making Pujara reach out for it away from his body. A meek poke finds the outside tickle and Rahim gobbles up the ricochet that balloons up off the pad. A certain century was there for the taking that Pujara has donated away. Pujara c Rahim b Hasan 83(177) [4s-9]

4

Hasan to Kohli, FOUR, not a bad way to get started. With the crowd screaming his name, Kohli gets a long hop in welcome. Slaps it away in glee

4

Ahmed to Vijay, FOUR, full, wide and swinging away further. One of those baits. Vijay looks to reach out without bothering to move his feet. His lick comes to his rescue taking the toe end to run away into the fence past the lone slip

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, as straight as he could get. Fractionally pitched up and Kohli presents the full face of the bat as he leans onto his front foot and smears it down the ground. Effortless - to the cameras of course

4

Islam to Kohli, FOUR, wow. Artistry from Kohli. Pure class from the Indian skipper. Just leans forward to this half-volley, brings his bat down in a nice arc and creams the drive through extra cover. Bulleted away to the fence

4

Islam to Kohli, FOUR, two in a row now. Rabbi shifts his line wider of off, Kohli reached out by protracting his hands and carves it over cover

OT

Islam to Vijay, 2 runs, there it is! Vijay raises his 9th Test hundred. The hands go up in the air, off comes the helmet and a calm salute of the bat to soak in the applause. Virat walks up and congratulates the Tamil Nadu batsman. Coming to the ball, it was short and outside off, Vijay made room and forced it through cover. Was nearing the ropes but the fielder from cover gave the chase and pulled it back to deny Vijay a boundary. "Take a bow," gushes Sanjay Manjrekar on air

OT

Islam o Kohli, no run, looped up on middle, Kohli brings his ba closer o he pad o negoiae i. here was a genle query from Rahim behind he sumps for an LBW bu no dice given. Bu wai! hey have reviewed i. Fair delivery. Guess wha, here was no pad involved a all. Came only off he ba. A wase of a review from he Bangladeshis. Looked like a review more in hope

4

Islam o Vijay, FOUR, he didn' ime i oo well bu sill manages o earn a boundary. A ossed up delivery on he sumps, Vijay's eyes ligh up, he wen hard on ha, he ba face urned in his hand and he somehow ges i away pas mid-on

W

Islam o Vijay, ou Bowled!! here comes he breakhrough. Islam ges he much needed wicke and lifs he morale of a sagging Bangladeshi eam. A fabulous knock from Vijay comes o an end. Snapped in concenraion may be as he wen for a sweep o his quicker delivery on he sumps. He made a blunder by exposing he sumps, Islam saw i and fired i sraigher. he amil Nadu basman wen across, missed i compleely and he ball crashes ono he sumps. Islam is over he moon. Also, his is he lowes of Vijay's hundreds I'm informed. Vijay b Islam 108(160) [4s-12 6s-1]

4

Islam o Rahane, FOUR, drops i shor and Rahane akes oll of i. Lowers his cenre of graviy, akes i on leg-sump and half-pulls i pas square leg. Rabbi gave a desperae chase, ried o flick he ball back in play near he ropes bu in vain

4

to Kohli, FOUR, nicely played. Only relied on timing. A round-armish ball on a fuller length on middle, Kohli brings his dexterous wrists into play, firmly whips it past mid-on. Races away into the fence

OT

to Kohli, 1 run, Kohli compiles his 15th Test fifty. No real celebration there. Just a customary wave of the bat to the crowd and his team-mates. Reaches the landmark with a tuck off his pads through square leg

4

Islam o Kohli, FOUR, crunched. aijul overpiches a ad and Kohli says hanks by spanking i hrough cover. Places i wide of he deep cover fielder and adds a boundary

4

Hasan to Rahane, FOUR, and a loose warm-up ball from Hasan. Short and wide, Rahane hangs back and cuts past backward point. Hit it all along the ground

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, and now Ahmed hurls it too short. Comes nicely on to Kohli's bat, who stands tall and cuts square on the off-side, travels quickly to the fence

4

Islam to Rahane, FOUR, Rahane drives on the up to this length ball. And even though it has not quite come off the middle, the newness of the ball ensures that sweeper, running to his right, does not have any chance there

4

Islam to Kohli, FOUR, crunchy! These round-arm bowlers anyway show their cards too early and when the ball is pitched short with not much pace behind it, it becomes far easier for the batters. Kohli saw this one and pulled through mid-wicket. Races away in no time

4

Islam to Rahane, FOUR, Islam has not learnt his lessons. Or perhaps he watched the vidoes of Indian batsmen in 90s when they were afraid of short balls. Not Rahane! He does not waste time. Sees this short ball and immediately gets into position to pull it. Does not quite put the fleshy part of the willow behind it but does well to put it away from the man at mid-on

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, mid-on was left open and Ahmed bowled a half-volley on the stumps. Kohli did not have to do much, he just presented his bat straight and got it past the bowler. Mahmudullah, who was accompanied by someone else too in the chase, dived near the fence. But he dived too early and could not put a hand to the ball

4

Hasan to Rahane, FOUR, new ball a bit too tough to control for Hasan, who bowls it short and outside off. Rahane goes back and cuts square on the off-side

4

Hasan to Kohli, FOUR, 16th Test ton for King Kohli (ignore the cliched term). He deserves it. The crowd and his teammates are on their feet. Not much celebration from him. Shot to reach there was top class, so like his innings so far. Tossed up on the stumps and Kohli let his wrists take over and flicked through mid-wicket. Found the gap to perfection

4

Ahmed to Rahane, FOUR, because of the slowness of the track a lot of these pulls are going in front of square. Wonder Bangladesh have noticed or not! It is short again and Rahane pulls through mid-wicket

4

Ahmed to Rahane, FOUR, too much time again. He can cut those, like they say, till the cows come home. Short and wide outside off, Rahane cuts in the air and over backward point to pick up back to back fours

4

Islam o Kohli, FOUR, he is now oying wih he bowling. aijul, having piched quie a few fla balls, goes full his ime. Kohli opens himself on he drive and renders he man a cover redundan, such precison when i comes o finding he gap

4

to Kohli, FOUR, in the air but it has been that kind of a day for Bangladesh. It was wide of Kohli's reach but he went with the drive, hit in the air but away from the man at cover. Picks up another four

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, bad ball and four. There is a deep point in place but he had no chance even though it was uppishly played. Lots of width on that and Kohli freed his arms, slashed out and got it wide of that man. Nearly went all the way

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, look at Rahim's reaction. He isn't happy at all. Has a word with his bowler. Rubbish delivery again. Short and wide again, Kohli this time, plays the cut down. The last one was to the left of deep point, this to the right. Only had a few paces to cover, but the timing on the shot beat him easily. Didn't dive as well. Ahmed is wasting the newish ball, by bowling freebies

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, what an on-drive. Just a mere push and then the godly wrists take over. Even the birthday boy - Athar Ali Khan is wowing on air after seeing the replay. Ahmed overpitched, just slightly and that's more than enough for Kohli - in the form of his life - to cash in. Gets forward and then you know the rest, don't you!

4

to Rahane, FOUR, a gift for Rahane to get to fifty and he doesn't miss out. A high full toss and smacked across the line, to the deep mid-wicket fence. Typical Rahane celebration - very understated

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, well played. Not easy pulling a pacy bowler like Ahmed, especially when the short one is bouncing near the neck area but Kohli is back and across and then pulls it down. Still doesn't get it entirely down to ground, but beats short mid-wicket and the man on the fence running across. He is taking to the cleaners here

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, hard work this for Ahmed and he is feeling the heat - quite literally. He is banging the ball short and seeing it disappear. Has a wry smile on his face. What else can he do. With Kohli in the kind of form that he is in currently. Short outside off, Kohli knows there is no third man and plays the wristy upper cut, nearly went all the way, one bounce over the ropes. This is what is called as toying with the bowling

4

to Kohli, FOUR, Kohli is in the mood today. Almost takes out a couple of his mates at the long-off fence. The Indian subs and staff are sitting there and they are in danger as the ball flies towards them. Down the track and smashed flat over mid-off. Almost six, lands just inside and scoots through. Has a few scurrying for safety

4

Ahmed to Kohli, FOUR, Ahmed has to learn. Quickly. Will do so after this caning. But let's take a moment to appreciate the genius of Kohli. There is third man and deep point but he has bisected them both with a touch of class. Delays the late dab to that shortish delivery outside off and places it perfectly. Beats a fielder of Sabbir's calibre. Says so much about the shot

OT

Ahmed to Kohli, 1 run, look at the crowd react. To the landmark. 150 for Kohli and the crowd go mental. Cheering loudly and making a huge noise. Short on the head, Kohli controls the pull and plays it down to mid-wicket. Again a very subdued celebration from Kohli. He wants much more, be afraid Bangladesh, very afraid. He won't settle for 150 - the look on his face says it all

4

Ahmed to Rahane, FOUR, the confidence is oozing in Rahane as well. Is feeding off Kohli's charisma from the other end. This is not that bad a ball - even though it is still short and wide outside off, there is deep point in place as well but Rahane has whiplashed the square cut. Just powered it wide of Sabbir who was ball-watching once more. Rockets to the fence

D

Islam to Rahane, 1 run, did that carry to Sabbir? Looked like it. Yes it did. But that's due to Sabbir's effort rather than the ball going straight to him. He came forward and dived, a bit too early in fact and that resulted in the ball coming slower and dipping on his hands. Hits the wrist area and goes to ground. Harsh to call that a dropped chance, but full marks to the effort, Rahane played the cut and couldn't keep it down

4

to Rahane, FOUR, the slog sweep from Rahane and he has connected beautifully. Takes the front leg out of the way and then hammers it. Knelt down low and played it ever so well. To the deep mid-wicket fence

4

Islam to Rahane, FOUR, that's a back foot drive. A late decision to change the shot and still he gets four. Through cover. Beating short cover and extra cover. On a length and outside off, Rahane wanted to cut that initially then saw it wasn't so short for that shot, so brought his bat down and punched it away. Superb!

4

Islam o Kohli, FOUR, he 200-run sand comes up wih a cu. Kep a lile low ouside off, bu Kohli has go low as well o cu ha hrough poin. here is no deep poin and he ball has an easy pah o he fence

W

Islam o Rahane, ou Caugh by Mehedi Hasan!! Bangladesh have finally go pas his pair and India have los ha cusomary wicke in a session. Lovely hands from Mehedi, made a difficul cach look easy. Beauifully bowled by aijul, he drifed his one wider of off and go i o dip ino he righ-hander, Rahane was commied on he drive, had o lunge forward as he looked o ge o he pich of i. he dip beas him on he drive, he ends up spooning i off he splice of he ba, in he air and o he lef of cover-poin. Mehedi dived across o his lef, wen wih boh hands and held ono i - one handed effor in he end. Rahane c Mehedi Hasan b Islam 82(133) [4s-11]

4

Islam o Saha, FOUR, lovely sho, ha's a lovely way o ge going, Saha shimmies down he rack, made room as he did so. Frees his arms and plays a scorching inside ou drive pas cover, no need o run for hose

4

Hasan to Kohli, FOUR, risky but four, this was dropped short and wide of off, was cut for the cut but Kohli was nearly undone by the extra bounce, doesn't control the cut, it went in the air but manages to beat the fielder at backward point

OT

Hasan to Kohli, no run, Kohli has been given out LBW and he wants a review. It's a fair delivery and looks like there's no bat on that. UltraEdge confirms it as well. But is it sliding down the leg-side? The impact is in-line, but the ball is doing too much. Missing leg, says Hawk-Eye and the crowd erupt. Umpire Joel Wilson has to change his call. Too much turn and that has saved Kohli here. This was tossed up on off and spun back into the right-hander, beat Kohli on the inside edge and struck him in front of off-stump. The stride was decent enough and the ball was spinning past the leg-stump

4

Hasan to Kohli, FOUR, cracking shot, tossed this one wider of off, Kohli gets a big stride forward, gets close to the pitch of the ball - drives against the turn and beats mid-off to his left

4

Islam o Kohli, FOUR, fracion shor and jus ouside off, Kohli wais on i, uses aijul's pace and cus i lae, beas backward poin o his lef. amim gives he chase and pulls he ball back in, bu i wen back and rolled over he ropes

D

Islam o Kohli, 1 run, was i a chance? his was ossed up on off, Kohli was forward on he whippy flick, no sure if i was a bump ball, wen in he air and o he lef of Mahmudullah a shor mid-wicke. He wen down low and can' grasp i. Need o see more replays of i. No, wen sraigh off he ground, no a chance and Mahmudullah can feel relieved

4

Islam o Kohli, FOUR, Kohli has his fourh double hundred, big applause from he crowd as he Indian capain removes his helme and acknowledges he cheers, ges a big hug from his parner as well. He also becomes he firs player o hi four consecuive double-hundreds in four successive series. icked off agains Wes Indies, New Zealand, England and now Bangladesh - now, ha's quie a record. Can he make i five? We need o wai for he Ausralia series. Coming o he ball, i was ossed up inviingly ouside off, Kohli go a big sride forward and was looking o launch i over mid-off, miscued i bu has enough o clear he infield, couple of bounces and over he ropes

W

Islam o Kohli, ou Lbw!! he Indian capain doesn' even boher o review, off he goes. He knew i was pad firs, he impac was jus around off - migh have been umpire's call had he reviewed, bu off he goes. He ges a big round of applause once again from he Hyderabad crowd, he skipper falls afer a superb double on. Lovely bowling from aijul, he's been he mos impressive of he lo. his was he slider, Kohli was backing away on he cu, he ball hudded ino his pads before he ba came down. Umpire Erasmus has no doubs, his fingers were up in a flash. Hang on! Replays sugges ha Kohli was sruck ouside off. Saha had a word wih him, bu he was happy o go. Would have survived had he challenged umpire Erasmus' call. Kohli lbw b Islam 204(246) [4s-24]

4

Islam o Ashwin, FOUR, Ashwin was iching o have a go a he lef-arm spinner, comes down he rack, ges close o he pich of he ball and drills i over mid-off, one bounce and over he ropes, brings up India's 500 as well

4

Ahmed to Ashwin, FOUR, lovely shot, has been all over the radar today. He now offers Ashwin a juicy full-toss, Ashwin leans forward, presents the full face of the bat and bunts it past the non-striker for a boundary

4

Ahmed to Saha, FOUR, lovely shot, poor bowling from , too full and wide of off, Saha leans forward and jams his bat at that, beats cover and rolls away to the fence

4

Ahmed to Ashwin, FOUR, this is poor bowling from , short and wide outside off, no pace on it either. Ashwin waits on it, rides the bounce and runs it down towards third man for a boundary

4

Ahmed to Ashwin, FOUR, back-to-back boundaries for Ashwin, nothing much could have done here. On a good length and just outside off, Ashwin waits on it, opens the face of the bat at the last moment and taps it on its head, beats the fielder at slip and rolls away to the fence

4

to Saha, FOUR, and he compensates the lack of his feet movement with this one. Right beside the line and whacks it with a lofted drill over mid-on

4

to Saha, FOUR, takes him on. Takes on the flight after tosses it up nice and loopy. Is almost done in by the dip but trusts the massive blades of today and his forearms to loft it with a chipping dance. Just short of the fence

6

to Saha, SIX, and follows it up with a rank half tracker. All too easy now for Saha to pile on the misery with a rock back to swat it across the line. As flat as it could get

OT

Hasan to Saha, no run, a big mix-up. Mammoth. Both batsmen gallop half way down the track, look at each other only after that and for some strange reason known only to the two of them, return back home. Was a nurdle to square leg and Mominul just did not collect it cleanly, was always on

W

Hasan to Ashwin, out Caught by Soumya Sarkar!! Perishes. Tries to bring out yet another one of his late cuts into play. Too close for his liking is the line with the ball coming back in with the angle. Caresses it off the face of the blade to the lone man perched at slip. No signs of the Indian declaration coming though as the crowd cheers for a walking in Jadeja. Ashwin c Soumya Sarkar b Hasan 34(45) [4s-4]

OT

Hasan to Jadeja, no run, Bangladesh take matters upstairs. In desperation more than anything else. After one that turns and bounces, this one comes back in with the arm and Jadeja unwittingly leans onto his back foot in looking to play at this one. Tries to tuck and is obviously hurried in by the pace, misses. Here's HawkEye to our rescue - sliding down leg was the trajectory

OT

Hasan to Saha, 1 run, Saha, in the shadows of his more glamorous batsmen, gets himself yet another half-ton to silence his naysayers. Gets there with the latest of cuts off one that just doesn't come back in

4

Hasan to Jadeja, FOUR, the long hop comes along. Way too short and dealt with appropriately. Courtesy - a rocked back swivelling pull through mid-wicket

4

to Saha, FOUR, both spinners seem hell bent on keeping things on the shorter side. Penalised to the bank once again. This time with Saha slapping it on the other side of the wicket - the off

4

Hasan to Saha, FOUR, and in the midst of braces, a boundary is leaked. When you cannot snare Saha with full ones, you snare him with half trackers. Dealt with a rocking slapper through extra cover

OT

Hasan to Saha, no run, the review is taken even before the umpire finishes shaking his head horizontally. For a change, Saha is quite undone by the flight on this one and is early to get onto it with his stretching sweep. Looks mighty close. Okay here we go with the engineering - no bat involved, courtesy the UltraEdge. And the impact is an umpire's call despite the ball knocking middle down with it. NOT OUT it stays

4

Islam o Jadeja, FOUR, enough space on offer around off. Jadeja camps back and cus-punches pas exra cover. he slow pich being his accomplice here

6

Islam o Jadeja, SIX, ino he second ier. Some caching pracice for he school kids - he fuure crickeers. Execues he clean full swing of he ba and doesn' boher looking up afer he lofs i ino he crowd

D

Hasan to Jadeja, 1 run, dropped! Jadeja takes Hasan on and lofts with a straightish bat, did not time it well and spooned towards long-off. Tamim ran in, had it covered, got both hands to it but let the ball slip out as he made contact with the ground on the forward dive

4

Hasan to Saha, FOUR, fabulous shot! Saha uses the feet and creates some space for himself, drives inside out and places past the man at extra cover, whose chase is just a customary one

6

Islam o Jadeja, SIX, Jadeja is decepive in he way he looks. Does no look like a muscular guy bu has pu enough ba on he slog his ime o make i sail over he deep mid-wicke fence

OT

Islam o Jadeja, 1 run, and he Sword-play from Jadeja. I indicaes jus one hing, he has urned a flighed delivery around he corner o ge o his fify

6

Islam o Saha, SIX, and now urn for Saha o soak in he applause. He has go his second on in es cricke. Wha a sho o ge here. Seps down and his i cleanly over he bowler's head for a maximum. Was ou wih an injury agains England for he las hree es maches. Comes back and earns his spo back. Mus have been under some pressure

4

Hasan to Jadeja, FOUR, now some class from Jadeja. Skips down just a bit and gives his arms some space to crack the drive past extra cover. The man out there did not have to move much but fails to get behind it

4

to Jadeja, FOUR, off the back foot and over cover. That takes some skill. The ball was short and Jadeja shifted his weight to loft the punch over cover. The man from sweeper ran to his left and tried to parry it back into play with his soccer skills. Was not good enough
