to Finch, FOUR, welcome to the crease, says Finch. He will not hold back here. Sees a short ball, angled at the body and hauls his back leg with his wrists twirled and short-arm jabs it away behind square on the leg-side

W

to Warner, out Caught by Kohli!! There's the early wicket for India. comes back strongly after conceding a boundary off the first ball. Hit the deck hard on a short of length, it rushed onto Warner. He went for the pull - sort of late into the shot and splices it up in the air to cover. Kohli wouldn't have taken much easier catch than this in his career. Pouches it and bangs the ball into the turf - with a loud roar. The crowd find their voices back as well. Warner c Kohli b 2(5)

W

to Finch, out Caught by Kohli!! Both openers back in the hut for Australia. India are back in this contest. The ball is following Kohli - left, right and centre. After lasering it full, shortened his length and kept it outside off. Finch lazily punches it - sought to biscet the gap through extra cover and mid-off. But he couldn't and hits it straight into the bucket hands of the Indian captain at extra cover. So, both new ball bowlers have struck for India. Seemed like the ball shot up and that led to Finch's dismissal there. Finch c Kohli b 8(8) [4s-1]

4

to Head, FOUR, beautiful drive from Head - all class. Straight out of page 1 of the manual. Half-volley on the stumps, Head leans forward with a full-face of the bat, drills it straight down the ground. No stopping those, races away

4

to Head, FOUR, there is a lot of dew and sprays one on leg. Easy pickings for Head, just rolls his wrists and picks it away with a neat clip through square leg

6

to Henriques, SIX, Henriques silences the crowd with a maximum. Spots the short ball early, rocks back and muscles the pull into the deep square leg stands

6

Yadav to Henriques, SIX, a rare bad ball and Henriques punishes it. A rank long hop from , Henriques saw it as he skipped back and dismisses it over deep square leg for a maximum

4

Yadav to Head, FOUR, short and put away disdainfully. 14 runs off the over. drops it short for the second time in the over, Head goes back and pulls it in front of square on the leg-side

4

Pandya to Henriques, FOUR, Indians are not learning. They keep bowling short to these two batsmen, who are making them pay. Short and down leg, Henriques swivels across and helps it on its away to the fine leg. The long leg fielder was very square and had no chance. Pandya looks a bit peeved with himself

4

Pandya to Head, FOUR, change of angle but same result - this time though Head gets under it. Sinks his teeth into this short ball by marching down the track and smashes it over mid-wicket. Zooms away to the fence

OT

to Head, 1 run, 50-stand comes up between the duo. Tossed up on a short of length, Head hangs back and pulls it towards deep mid-wicket

4

to Henriques, FOUR, ultra-deft touch by Henriques. It was flat and outside off, Henriques waits and waits before opening his bat face to steer it past the lone slip. The short third man fielder gives a chase but to no avail

4

Yadav to Head, FOUR, short ball, ample time for the batsman to rock back and pull it. He gets more of a top-edge on it but threads the ball between long-on and deep mid for a four

4

Yadav to Henriques, FOUR, too full and the batsman takes the challenge head on with a blasted drive. Bombards the ball away past cover for a four. Kohli looked miffed

6

to Head, SIX, they want to do it ASAP! Loopy ball angling away, too full it was and Head was happy to over long-on. No holding back as the bat flow was smooth and the ball traversed enough distance over the long-on fence

6

Yadav to Henriques, SIX, half-a-dozen! That was another aired up delivery and the batsman biffed it down the ground. He might not have timed it but had enough on it to power it over a leaping Rohit Sharma at long-off

6

Yadav to Henriques, SIX, he has done it for HYD at #3. He is doing it for the Aussies tonight. Shortish ball and Henriques wallops the pull over cow corner to bring up a nicely timed fifty

OT

Yadav to Henriques, 2 runs, 100 runs for these two! The heavy wood makes contact on another flighted ball to send it to deep square leg on the slog sweep. Only a shot away now..

4

to Henriques, FOUR, spanked back and Australia win by 8 wickets with 27 balls to spare. A canter to say the least! That was a flighted ball, yet again, and the batsman bazoooka-ed back a shot to which did a left alone. Saved his fingers and the demolition was complete

4

to Rohit, FOUR, the first ball hasn't tested the pitch, it's a freebie full toss and Rohit scores the first international runs at this venue. He had to reach out outside off and then place it wide of backward point to take third man out of the equation as well. Looks like the ball slipped out of 's hand on that occasion. Great start for India though

4

to Rohit, FOUR, it's a similar ball to the previous delivery and this time Rohit gets more bat on the drive, although it didn't hit the sweet spot. The bat turned in his hands, the placement was well to the right of mid-off and it ran away for four

W

to Rohit, out Lbw!! Loud shout and given. Looked plumb in front. Rohit consults with Dhawan for the review, but sensibly Dhawan says no. Would have been an absolute waste. Another lovely inswinger from . Full and pitching in line, just moving back in, this is the straightest delivery has bowled thus far and it hits the pad right in front of middle. We have seen Amir remove Rohit with similar inswingers. Needs to move that front foot a bit more to negate swing. Rohit lbw b 8(4) [4s-2]

W

to Kohli, out Caught&Bowled!! Why didn't he review that? Looked pretty close to pitching outside leg. He asked Dhawan and then decided not to send it upstairs. The replay is going to be interesting. What an over from . He wasn't able to control the inswing for the first three balls, and then got it perfectly in the spot to trouble both Rohit and Kohli. This wasn't as full as the Rohit dismissal, pitched more in the good length zone, just nipped back in, hit him on the front pad as he played across the line. First appeal was for LBW, then the ball popped in the air off the pad and rushed forward to catch. There was confusion whether it was LBW or caught and bowled. Kohli probably didn't feel the edge. The UltraEdge shows a spike, so it turns out to be an excellent call. By the way this is Kohli's first duck in T20Is. Kohli c and b 0(2)

4

to M Pandey, FOUR, that's been guided past the man at slip. bowled short and wide outside off stump, Pandey allows the ball to come, opens the face of the bat at the last moment and manages to toe-end it past the man at slip

W

to M Pandey, out Caught by Paine!! Talk about batting technique, Manish Pandey has his own way of not covering the line of the ball. And that technique has led to his dismissal now. He always stays leg-side of the ball even if it is wide outside off stump as this one was. was clever enough to angle it cross and not opt for the inswinger. The batsman played for swing, the ball just held its line and he nicked off. Brilliant start from , he's got three already. M Pandey c Paine b 6(7) [4s-1]

6

to Kedar Jadhav, SIX, that's a great shot from the little Kedar Jadhav. Talk about extra bounce, he hasn't moved much but managed to get the pull shot right from the middle of the bat and cleared the mid-wicket fence

W

to Dhawan, out Caught by Warner!! Look at Davey Warner roar. This is definitely a fielder's wicket. What a stunning catch. This was a good length delivery from , Dhawan stepped out to loft-drive the ball, chipped it in the air, the bounce meant the ball probably hit him high on the bat, so there was more height on this than distance and how well has Warner judged that. He ran back from mid-on, quickly turned and exactly predicted the trajectory to grab it so easily. has four now. India are tottering at 27/4, but there's a loud cheer in the ground as MS Dhoni walks out. Dhawan c Warner b 2(6)

4

to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, that's a fierce looking cut shot, a shot to make a statement to the bowler. dropped it short and just outside off stump, Jadhav cut with power and didn't bother to keep it down, one bounce and into the point fence

4

Tye to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, that's not where you bowl on this pitch. Short and acres outside off stump, Jadhav reached out and cut it to the right of the diving backward point fielder

4

to Kedar Jadhav, FOUR, poor first ball from , gentle loosener on the leg stump, Jadhav glances it fine and fine leg is very square

4

to Dhoni, FOUR, that's purely a bottom handed swing from Dhoni. Whipped it powerfully, didn't hit it hard because he knew there was a fielder at deep mid-wicket, placed it perfectly with a flick to the right of the fielder for a one bounce four

W

to Dhoni, out Stumped!! This time gets his man. Turn and bounce, Dhoni couldn't cover for it after using his feet yet again. Interestingly, he was using his feet throughout this innings - both to pacers and the spinner. dropped it much shorter, which meant Dhoni couldn't get to the pitch of the ball, there was a bit of turn and it spun past Dhoni's attempted defensive push. Easy stumping for the keeper. India are 60 for 5 now. Dhoni st Paine b 13(16) [4s-1]

W

to Kedar Jadhav, out Bowled!! loved it. Roars in delight. Foxed Jadhav with a googly. The wrong 'un was tossed up on a driving length, Jadhav stays leg-side of the ball wanting to play the inside out loft over extra cover, does not pick the googly and goes for it, the ball dips in front of him and turns in to beat the inside edge. Rest is history. India are in trouble of being bowled out here. Australia are into the bowlers. Kedar Jadhav b 27(27) [4s-3 6s-1]

W

to Bhuvneshwar, out Caught by Henriques!! Another one down. The crowd are stunned. This was not what they expected in their maiden international game. The expected short ball from NCN, just that the line was around the fourth stump line, Bhuvneshwar arches back and ramps it to third man. Henriques rushes forward and takes it sliding across the turf. Not the kind of shot you associate with Bhuvneshwar. Bhuvneshwar c Henriques b 1(6)

4

Tye to Kuldeep Yadav, FOUR, another high full toss from Tye and Kuldeep swings as hard as possible, it was close to being a no-ball, the outside edge beats Paine to his left and runs away to the third man fence. Much needed boundary for India

6

Tye to Hardik Pandya, SIX, can't bowl short at that pace (75mph), sat up nicely for Pandya, who picks the length and pulls it off the front foot, just transfered his weight back and tonked it over deep mid-wicket. Just the second six of the innings

W

to Hardik Pandya, out Caught by (sub)Christian!! The crowd had just got going and they are silenced again. The off-cutter on a fullish length, it was in the slot and Pandya read the slower one as well, he somehow could not get underneath it, miscued the loft straight to long-off. Christian didn't have to do much as he pouched a dolly. Pandya is disappointed that he didn't connect as he has his left hand on his head. Hardik Pandya c (sub)Christian b 25(23) [6s-1]

4

to Bumrah, FOUR, placed expertly. Good length ball on off, Bumrah stays leg-side of the ball and has a swing, the outside edge flies to the right of Paine, who dives and still can't get a finger to it. Maxwell was at wide slip and he too had no chance

W

Tye to Kuldeep Yadav, out Bumrah Run Out!! Brilliance from Paine. Kuldeep charged down the wicket and is followed by Tye, the flicks is not connected and the ball ricochets off the thigh pad to the left of Paine. Bumrah calls for the run and is caught well short by a direct hit. Paine had his gloves off in a flash, swooped down on the ball and hit the base of the stumps. Bumrah run out (Paine) 7(9) [4s-1]

W

Tye to Kuldeep Yadav, out Caught by Paine!! India are bowled out on the last ball of the innings. A handy knock from Kuldeep. The slower delivery from Tye, Kuldeep wanted to heave it into the leg-side, the leading edge skies up, Paine settles under it and takes it calmly. Kuldeep Yadav c Paine b Tye 16(19) [4s-1]
