4

Zadran to Lewis, FOUR, edged but over the man at slip. Was a bit short outside off and the angle took it further away. Lewis threw the bat at it but got away

4

Zadran to Lewis, FOUR, Zadran is looking for swing but it is not there and hence this full ball is an easy put away for Lewis. Gets on the front foot and creams the drive through extra cover

4

Zadran to K Powell, FOUR, attempted bumper that sits up well. Powell goes back and pulls well in front of square, the ball dribbles to the fence eventually

4

Zadran to Lewis, FOUR, short and wide outside off. Lewis cuts it square on the off-side, one bounce over the ropes. Almost took the leather off the ball there, hit it so hard

4

Zadran to Lewis, FOUR, and again Zadran throws it wide and short. Lewis, having missed two, does not hold back this time; goes for the cut and beats the man at cover-point

W

Khan to K Powell, out Caught by Nabi!! Why appeal foolishly for lbws when you can bowl these and get wickets? A googly that turns sharply; was distant from Powell but he went for the push and edged to Nabi at slip. Once again Khan has got a wicket in his first over itself. K Powell c Nabi b Khan 12(17) [4s-1]

4

Khan to Lewis, FOUR, uses the feet and converts it into a half-volley. Does not lose his mind with a swing, just plays the conventional drive and gets it past extra cover

4

to Shai Hope, FOUR, flighted delivery and Shai Hope strokes a beautiful drive, against the turn but into the gap at extra cover; races away in no time

W

Khan to Lewis, out Lbw!! Switches to round the wicket and gets rid of Lewis. What a ball. Angled in and then the googly turned. Lewis was on the back foot to negotiate. Failed to do so and was trapped in front. Great delivery and once again Khan is making life tough for the Windies batsmen. Lewis lbw b Khan 33(36) [4s-5]

W

to J Carter, out Caught by Zazai!! Too close to cut but Carter has other ideas. Goes for the shot and the ball takes the glove en route to the keeper. Windies are doing their best to keep the interest alive in this one. J Carter c Zazai b 2(8)

4

to Shai Hope, FOUR, bit of width on offer and Hope slaps it through extra cover. Hit it well to find the gap to sweeper's right

W

to J Mohammed, out Caught by Shenwari!! And now J Mohammed is gone. Was a short ball outside off and he went hard on the cut but could not keep it down and hit straight to the fielder there. Easy cath for Shenwari. Windies are feeling the heat now. J Mohammed c Shenwari b 2(15)

4

Zadran to Shai Hope, FOUR, that's not a bad way to score runs. Shai Hope wanted to duck the short ball, did so but had his bat hanging over his head. The bumper hit it and deflected to the third man fence

W

Khan to Roston Chase, out Stumped!! Chase was drawn into the drive with a flighted delivery. Went for the drive but dragged his back leg. Zazai took the bails off in a flash to end the partnership. It's not too late. Afghanistan can still hope from here. Roston Chase st Zazai b Khan 9(30)

4

Zadran to Rovman Powell, FOUR, enough of curbing the instinct. This one was full outside off and Rovman Powell lofted with force over the man at mid-off

4

Khan to Rovman Powell, FOUR, I have waited all my life to see that. Finally it is here - a big shot from Rovman Powell. Sinks low and slogs to the deep mid-wicket fence

W

to Rovman Powell, out Caught by Rahmat!! Rovman Powell tries to clear the fence and holes out. Went for the slog into the wind and that took the power off the shot. Deep mid-wicket was waiting for it. Rovman Powell c Rahmat b 17(43) [4s-2]

4

Zadran to Holder, FOUR, short ball. Holder top edges the pull that rolls to the fine leg fence. West Indies win by 4 wickets and level the series 1-1 with one match to go

4

to Noor Ali, FOUR, wide half-volley, Noor Ali puts it away through extra-cover. Fluent drive from him on the front foot, with the focus on timing and placement. Mid-off gives chase, but this is a very lethargic effort as the back of his palm touches the ropes while he flicks the ball back in

4

to Javed Ahmadi, FOUR, any width and Ahmadi is swinging at it, as he's shown previously. After missing out a couple of times, this time he does makes contact and carves it through the covers. It was uppish, but just about evaded the fielder's dive

W

to Noor Ali, out Caught&Bowled!! Short into the body, catches Noor Ali by surprise and he's taken his eyes off the ball there. Simple return catch for off the leading edge. Effort ball from him, it climbs at Noor Ali and he gets into a tangle in trying to work it through the on-side. Noor Ali c and b 8(14) [4s-1]

W

to Rahmat, out Javed Ahmadi Run Out!! A run-out. We saw a lot of this earlier in the day from South Africa. A complete communication breakdown. Rahmat works it to mid-wicket, takes a couple of steps down and stops. But Ahmadi, who had responded to the initial call, keeps on running and they both finish at the same end. They both were looking at the fielder. Terrible running. Javed Ahmadi run out (Lewis/) 9(31) [4s-1]

W

to Rahmat, out Caught by J Mohammed!! Another wicket off the short ball. Some hostile fast bowling from West Indies here. Banged in halfway down, gets a response from the pitch and the ball gets big on Rahmat as he tries to pull. He's standing his ground, not looking happy with the decision. What did that come off? Doesn't matter now. It lobbed up straight to square leg. Might need another look at it to confirm if it was the top-edge or the helmet. Rahmat c J Mohammed b 1(6)

4

to Stanikzai, FOUR, rank half-volley outside off, Stanikzai's eyes lit up and he jumped all over it. Won't be getting too may of these from the other end so better make use of it. Driven for four past mid-off

4

to Stanikzai, FOUR, snorter from , and Stanikzai is lucky that the ball popped up over the keeper. This is nasty short ball bowing. They have rattled Afghanistan early. Stanikzai tries to take it on but he just fails to get on top of the bounce. Off the glove and into the boundary

W

to Shenwari, out Lbw!! Afghanistan all over the place. The short ball has clearly rattled them, and so the full one becomes all the more dangerous. Shenwari's weight is on the back foot, expecting the short ball. Instead, sucker-punches him. Pitches it right up and slants it in, Shenwari's feet are rooted to the crease and the ball thuds his pad. Well, another debatable decision. The angle looked like it would have taken it down leg. Shenwari lbw b 2(4)

W

Joseph to Stanikzai, out Caught by Shai Hope!! That's a rip-snorter from Joseph, as another Afghan batsman is bounced out. Stanikzai knew absolutely nothing about that. Sharp bouncer, Stanikzai tries to get on top of it to fend it off, but the ball keeps climbing at him and he eventually takes his eyes off it. It pops up off the shoulder of the bat, or perhaps the gloves, and it's a simple catch for the wicket-keeper Hope. Afghanistan being blasted away in St Lucia. Stanikzai c Shai Hope b Joseph 11(19) [4s-2]

W

Joseph to Nabi, out Caught by Roston Chase!! Short of length, hits the splice of Nabi's bat and lobs up for another simple catch, this time at square leg. They have been found out today, have Afghanistan. There's no stopping the slide. Nabi c Roston Chase b Joseph 13(24)

6

Joseph to Naib, SIX, gets a proper bite at that one and pops it over mid-on. That's gone all the way. Joseph pitches full, and Naib swings hard down the ground. Proper connection

W

Chase to Zazai, out Caught by Nurse!! Beautifully bowled, and Chase has his maiden ODI wicket. He's completely done the batsman in length and line. Flights the ball well wide of off upon seeing Zazai use his feet, makes him really reach out for it and gets the outside edge to slip. Lovely bowling. Zazai c Nurse b Chase 9(34)

6

to Rashid Khan, SIX, oh dear, has Joseph injured himself? Short ball, which was always coming once shifted to round the wicket, Rashid gets a thick top-edge on the pull and it sails just over Joseph at fine leg. But Joseph crosses the boundary ropes, takes the catch with his foot outside, flicks the ball in, and then has to hop over the advertising hoardings. The physio is tending to his ankle. Play will continue without him

W

to Rashid Khan, out Caught by Shai Hope!! Top-edge again, this time a faint one, and it's taken by the keeper. Clear noise and easy decision for the umpire. Rashid's approach was clear, and he was always going to take it on. Couldn't get on top of the bounce though. Rashid Khan c Shai Hope b 7(12) [6s-1]

4

Chase to Naib, FOUR, launches it back over the bowler's head. It was tossed up and Naib had no two ways about it

6

to Naib, SIX, hammered over the long-on boundary. Full in the slot from , and Naib gets stuck into it. Powerful strike

4

to Dawlat Zadran, FOUR, tossed up full outside off, Zadran wanted to swing to leg but instead, he ends up slicing it through the cover region for four

W

to Dawlat Zadran, out Caught by Lewis!! That's a spectacular catch which should have actually been a regulation catch, but either way, it's been taken. Lewis seemed to have misjudged it initially, was slow to move to his left at deep mid-wicket but then recovers splendidly and dives full stretch. Thick top-edge on the slog-sweep from Zadran and it's caught up in the wind. Lewis to have landed awkwardly on his shoulder. But doesn't look very bad. Dawlat Zadran c Lewis b 9(8) [4s-1]

4

to Naib, FOUR, gives Naib a real freebie to bring up his fifty. Short at the stumps, pulled away to the square leg boundary. If not for Naib's effort, this could have been very embarrassing for Afghanistan if it's not already

W

to Naib, out Caught by Alzarri Joseph!! That's it. Naib has holed out at long-off. Couldn't really find the middle of the bat as he aimed to go downtown, and an easy catch for Joseph. Naib c Alzarri Joseph b 51(73) [4s-2 6s-2]
